Hello yall I recently discarded two jars of moldy starter. One was about three weeks old and the other about a week. The three week one did a false rise then went dormant about day 3 and never rose again. The week old one didnt even false rise. I was doing 1:1:1 prettymuch the whole way through, every 24 hours after the first 48 hours. The night time temps were about 73 and daytime temps around 78. The older one that did a false rise was KA AP in the beginning then fed KA bread flour for subsequent feeds. The younger one that never rose was KA bread flour the whole way thru. The water was always room temp reverse osmosis water.

I have no idea why they both never really rose then molded out. Either way, I am going to begin anew, and with rye flour as ive seen recommended. This post will chronicle the starter attempt. Here are the two jars I made today. 50g KA Rye flour 50g lukewarn well water.

I have a rotting fence attached to the pool slab. It is falling apart and I need to replace it with something secure since I have a toddler now.

I see the posts are bolted into the edge of the slab. Was this a legitimate way of building this? Should I redo it this way or is there a better alternative?

Is this a doable job for a homeowner with a drill and a saw or should I hire a pro?

Was thinking metal fencing for durability but im open to other ideas. I would like to not have to do this again.

Thought i had a clog. Plumber said i needed a septic pump. Septic guys couldn't find a tank. Now I've got a whole can of worms. In the process of tracing the main line down from the clean out, the guys were using a rod like tool to find it and digging holes every so often. I was helping out and I cracked the pipe at one point with the shovel. The guys couldn't find a tank and charged me a service fee and left. Today I'm digging out around the pipe to do a splice and I find two circular punch holes up the line from where I cracked it with the shovel that could only have been made with the rod tool they were using. On top of all of this, there is another random 3 inch pipe on top of the 4 inch main with a 2 inch pipe running into it with no adapter. I can't do the splice without first doing something about this pipe on top of it. I don't know what it is for or why it would ever be set up the way it is. Can anyone advise?

Time to revitalize the pool garden. Original owners from decades ago put this junk down. They also buried trash everywhere in the property including an entire refrigerator. I bite my thumb at them.
