Got told my artstyle is Hazbin Hotel...
I have a lot of inspiration from growing up with Tim Burton shows and early 2000s cartoons and it reflects in my art. I love moderate to vaguely creepy characters, big shit-eating grins and tall and skinny shapes especially. Corpse Bride, 'Fred' from Courage the Cowardly Dog, 'Him' from Powerpuff Girls, Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. But for the last few years, any time I share my art anymore it's just crapped on because it has common themes found in those old cartoons that Hazbin Hotel also took from...
It feels like I simply cannot escape that show or the people who loathe it if I want to keep any semblance of why I love to create cartoons. Anyone else deal with something like this? Is my artstyle really that similar or are people just media illiterate to earlier cartoons?
