Is this a good deal?

I can get this for $700. Is this a good deal? I will back out if the bearing edges have un-repairable cracks. Two of the bass drum tensioners are missing. Finish is kinda destroyed.

- 22x18” Kick
- 12x8” Rack Tom
- 16x13” Floor Tom

This is a church drum kit. Not sure why it looks like it was used by a crust punk band, but I'm sure they can get a new one by passing around the money plate.

PFD for alpine lake fishing

Looking for ultralight PFD to pair with Alpacka Mule. This summer will be packing it 7 nights 70 - 80 miles. Always high alpine smaller lakes, never on the river.

Right now I'm looking at the Astral Airbelt 2.0 or the Astral EV-Eight. The latter could maybe be used as a pillow? My concern with the airbelt is it might dig into my back given the layout of the Alpacka blow up seat.

NRS Chinook will be used for shorter trips, just need something that doesn't make my pack weight even worse.

Please War Pigs by Black Sabbath

Please add War Pigs by Black Sabbath!! Iron man was awesome, especially the fact you charted out the solo. Any Black Sabbath from the first four albums would make me happy.

Staring Down the Sun (Magnolia Thunderpussy) - Rabies

Original discovered in the Thrasher Yard Sale video for me. You have got to hear this. Crappy guitar solo, goofy vocal timbre. How can you not get drunk to this song?

Yup dropped it. I had rok loks coming in the mail at the time this happened. I was thinking CA glue and matched automotive touch up paint? I found the chip see pictures.

Every note registers as late

Brand new Yamaha DTX6k5-M connected to high powered Windows 11 PC via USB. Video output to a LG C3 with low latency gaming mode enabled.

Downloaded the free trial and am using the software to gamify practice for a drum student.

It seems to be "fine" for slower tempo, but I noticed the faster the tempo the more "late notes" I get. I was playing a song on it, all the notes were purple (indicating late) so I just played only the hi-hat 8th notes for the beat and realized that even with pretty precise timing it was still registering everything as late.

I know it's a latency issue. When I hit a drum you can hear there's a very slight delay. This seems to only be when audio is wired through the PC instead of plugging headphones directly into the DTX module.

I'm just wondering if there's any solution to this? Latency slider is all the way left... which what does that even do? Is that buffer?

I'd like to mention that with Yousician it has a calibration that plays a noise through the speaker and you hold the guitar pickups up to the speaker so it can figure out when the sound hits your ears.

I'm gonna say this could be the nail in the coffin for me purchasing a subscription if I can't fix it. Drum are all about timing, and if the timing requires you to play ahead of the beat to make the hit detection happy I just can't do it.

Look I'd be happy paying premium money for an app that executes this well... but I'm not sure why you chose not to use a drum chart and display on a MIDI roll. Drum sheet music is honestly easier to comprehend than a MIDI roll. Example Cherub Rock Intro fill at the end - that would read sooo much better as a drum chart.

Laney LA30BL Review: Black Sabbath Tone, Snowblind Recording, Warranty Issues, and Attenuator Notes

I put together a hands-on writeup of my Laney LA30BL after spending more time with it and getting it back from a warranty repair. The article covers the early Black Sabbath thing, how it behaves with a Bugera PS-1 attenuator, my 4x12 speaker setup, using a Hizumitas for leads, and the warranty/build quality issues I ran into. There’s also a raw room recording of Snowblind in the post.

Curious if anyone else here has spent real time with the LA30BL or other modern Laney reissues. I’d be interested to hear how they’ve held up and what attenuators/cabs people are pairing with them.
