Where can I get an old folding pocket knife cleaned and sharpened cheaply?

I have this older folding pocket knife and would like to get it cleaned up and sharpened without spending too much money.

I'm not sure what condition the blade is in or whether the handle and metal parts need any special care. I'd prefer to have someone experienced look at it rather than risk damaging it myself.

Does anyone know roughly how much a basic cleaning and sharpening should cost, or how I could find an affordable service? Would a regular knife sharpening service be enough, or should I look for someone who specializes in pocket knives?

I'm in Germany, so recommendations for German services or general advice on finding an affordable local sharpener would be especially helpful.

I've attached a photo of the knife. Thanks!

Underweight beginner trying to gain muscle on a very tight budget in Germany

Hey everyone!

I live in Germany, I'm currently on a very tight budget, and I want to start building muscle and gaining weight.

I'm relatively underweight and would like to put on some healthy mass while getting stronger. However, I'm not very knowledgeable about nutrition yet, and I can't afford expensive foods, supplements or complicated meal plans.

I have no food restrictions and am open to pretty much everything.

I'd appreciate advice on:

How to estimate how many calories I need to gain weight.

How much protein I should aim for each day.

Cheap, calorie-dense foods that are easy to find in German supermarkets.

Affordable protein sources such as eggs, quark, milk, lentils, beans, oats and whatever else you recommend.

Simple meals that are filling, nutritious and inexpensive.

Weekly meal-prep plans that don't require much cooking time.

How to eat enough when I don't have much money or a huge appetite.

Cheap snacks and homemade high-calorie shakes.

Which foods offer the best value for money at stores like Aldi, Lidl, Netto and Penny.

Free YouTube channels, websites or meal plans for gaining weight on a budget.

I'd especially love examples of realistic weekly grocery lists and meal plans with approximate prices in euros.

I want to keep things as affordable as possible, ideally without needing protein powder or other supplements.

If you live in Germany and have successfully gained weight and muscle on a low budget, what did you eat, and what would you recommend to someone starting out?

Thanks for any help!

How can I train to get strong enough to lift and carry people?

Hey everyone!

I want to get stronger overall, not just for aesthetics or lifting heavy weights, but to become genuinely strong and capable in everyday life.

One of my specific goals is to be able to comfortably lift and carry another person in different ways, especially a princess carry (holding someone horizontally in front of me), but also carrying someone over my shoulder or on my back.

I'm a beginner and still have a lot of strength to build. I have access to a gym with basic equipment, dip bars at home, and a crate I can load with water bottles for improvised training.

I'd appreciate advice on:

Which muscle groups and exercises matter most for carrying people.

How to build strength in my legs, glutes, back, shoulders, arms and core.

Whether I should prioritize squats, deadlifts, rows, pull-ups, loaded carries or other exercises.

How to train specifically for the princess carry and similar positions.

Whether grip strength, core stability and conditioning are particularly important.

How many days per week I should train and what a good beginner routine would look like.

How to progress safely without injuring myself or the person I'm carrying.

Any exercises I can do at home with dip bars and a loaded crate.

I'd like to become strong in a practical, functional way, while also building muscle overall.

If you were starting from scratch with access to a basic gym, what training plan would you recommend?

Any advice, routines or resources would be appreciated. Thanks!

How can I learn russian for free?

I'd like to improve my Russian, but I'm broke at the moment, so I'm looking for resources that are completely free. I can't afford subscriptions, textbooks, paid courses or tutoring.

I can already understand and speak a little Russian, but I can't read or write Cyrillic at all. I'd like to build on what I already know instead of starting completely from zero.

I'm looking for recommendations for:

Apps and websites: Free resources for learning Russian, ideally with a structured learning path.

YouTube channels: Good channels for complete beginners, listening practice and learning naturally.

Reading and writing: The best way to learn the Cyrillic alphabet, pronunciation, spelling and handwriting.

Movies and shows: Free Russian-language films, series, cartoons or anime with Russian subtitles.

Books and comics: Beginner-friendly Russian books, comics, manga or other reading material.

Listening and speaking: Ways to improve my understanding, pronunciation and vocabulary without paying for lessons.

Music: Russian-speaking bands or artists whose lyrics could help me learn the language.

Study methods: How to practice consistently and make progress without spending money.

I'd especially love resources that make learning enjoyable rather than feeling like I'm doing schoolwork. I'd like to be able to watch Russian content, read things I find interesting and eventually communicate comfortably in Russian.

If you were in my position, what would your learning plan look like? Which resources would you start with, and which ones would you avoid?

Thanks for any advice!

Need advice as a beginner

Hey everyone!

I recently got a bass guitar and want to learn how to play, but I'm completely new to the instrument.

I'm broke at the moment, so I'm looking for resources that are completely free. I can't afford lessons, subscriptions or paid courses.

My music taste is mainly metal and goth. I'd especially love to learn songs by Type O Negative and Skulk, but I'm open to recommendations for other bands and beginner-friendly songs.

I'd appreciate advice on:

Free apps or websites for tuning my bass

Good YouTube channels or structured beginner courses

How to practice and build good technique from day one

Learning rhythm, timing, notes and reading tabs

Free tools for slowing songs down or practicing along with them

Beginner-friendly metal, goth and doom metal songs

How to figure out which songs are realistic for my current skill level

How to get a good sound from my bass without buying extra equipment

Any mistakes I should avoid as a beginner

If you were starting from zero today and had no money to spend, what would your learning plan look like?

I'm especially interested in learning to play music I actually enjoy rather than only practicing generic beginner exercises.

Thanks for any advice! I'm excited to get started.

How do I stop letting things affect me so much?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to work on myself and I have a problem that I really want to get better at.

I tend to get way too emotionally affected by things that either don't really concern me or that I can't change.

I can get angry or annoyed very quickly, especially when I feel like someone is deliberately provoking me, treating me unfairly, disrespecting me(like ignoring me), crossing my boundaries or doing something that I consider stupid or unnecessary.

The bigger problem is that I often don't just get annoyed in the moment... I keep thinking about it afterwards... for way too long ...

I'll replay situations in my head, think about what happened, what I should have said, what the other person should have done differently, how unfair it was, etc.

I also struggle with jealousy sometimes. I don't necessarily want to be jealous of other people, but I still catch myself comparing myself to them or thinking about things they have that I don't.

And when someone has emotionally hurt me (especially people who were important to me), I can have a really hard time letting it go. Even when I logically understand that thinking about it won't change anything, my brain keeps going back to it.

I don't want to become emotionless or stop caring about people. I basically want to learn how to choose what deserves my attention and what doesn't.

I'd really like to learn how to:

- Stop being so easily provoked

- Not take everything personally

- Stop caring so much about things that don't actually affect my life

- Stop replaying situations where I felt treated unfairly

- Let go of things that happened in the past

- Deal with jealousy in a healthier way

- Stop comparing myself to other people

- Stop caring so much what others think

- Control my reaction when I'm angry instead of reacting immediately

- Accept things that I can't change

- Spend less time thinking about people or situations that hurt me

- Become more emotionally resilient without becoming cold or uncaring

I'm especially interested in practical things I can actually practice, rather than just "don't think about it" or "just ignore it."

If you've personally struggled with this and managed to improve, I'd really like to hear what actually helped you.

Books, exercises, mental techniques, journaling methods, therapy approaches, Stoicism, meditation, whatever... I'm open to pretty much anything that can help.

I'm basically trying to become someone who can think:

"That sucks, but it's not worth ruining my day over."

…and actually mean it.

Thanks in advance. :)

Need help with my hair

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to seriously improve how I take care of my hair and get my curls to look better.

I have somehwat long(20cm and still growing, I'm a guy btw), very curly hair and a mullet that I cut myself (shaved the sides and my neck), also I dyed my hair and beard black.

I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to proper curly-hair care, so I'd love some advice on basically ...everything, both hair care/styling and maintaining the mullet myself.

I'd especially like to know:

How often should I wash my hair?

What shampoo and conditioner should I use?

Should I use leave-in conditioner, curl cream, gel, mousse, oils, etc.?

How can I make my curls more defined without making my hair heavy or greasy?

How can I reduce frizz?

What's the best way to dry curly hair? Should I use a diffuser?

How should I sleep with long curly hair?

How often should I trim it?

Should curly hair be cut wet or dry?

How do I account for shrinkage when cutting?

How can I maintain the mullet shape while keeping the length?

How should I shape the sides/top/back of a curly mullet?

Any tips for cutting a mullet yourself?

Are there any good tutorials or techniques I should learn?

What products and tools are actually worth buying?

How do I keep the "wet hair look"?

What is your routine?

I'm located in Germany near Braunschweig, so I'd especially appreciate product recommendations that I can actually buy in Germany (DM, Rossmann, Müller, Douglas, Amazon Germany, etc.).

I'm also kinda broke, so I'm mainly looking for affordable products and tools ...

Thanks in advance! :)

snake bites and tounge piercing, any tips?

First, sorry for my bad English, not my first language.

I already have ear holes, eyebrow piercing and double helix. I'm a man living in Germany. I don't have much money, so I would appreciate if you recommend certain products or food, I'd would be great if they're cheap. Not sure what other information could be relevant or useful to consider when giving advice.

I'm getting snake bites and tounge piercing(the one in the middle) today and wanted to ask what tips and tricks for the healing process y'all might have.

Also I know I should be careful with my choice of food for the first week and wanted to ask what you'd recommend?

I don't have any eating restrictions and I go to the gym with the goal of gaining muscle mass(now I'm taking a break due to the piercing), if that's something that can be taken into consideration, I don't want to lose weight during the healing process if possible.

I appreciate all experiences shared or guides, tips, etc and I hope I did everything in this post correctly.^^

Thank you in advance :D

Illusion wizard rogue mix

I kinda like the idea of arcane trickster and illusion wizard multiclass, but I'm not sure how to do it best. Both give a better version of my favourite cantrips so I thought combining it could be fun.

3/9 or 4/8 and with most in wizard probably ?

16 Dex and 17 int with ethals hair?

Or would thief rogue be better for more bonus action shenanigans with bonus action minor illusion?

I want it to be mostly fun and be somewhat effective

Questions for abjuration wizard

Me and my friend want to make a duo run where he plays a monk(I think four elements? He hasn't decided yet)and I play an abjuration wizard focused on ice spells. For flavour and fun I do want to be mainly a ice mage, a blizard wizard lizard (silver Dragonborn)

I wanted to take my first level in draconic sorcerer for con save proficiency and Armor of agathis, but the rest in wizard. I would also like to get as many spells as possible, I know you can learn speak with dead via the necronomicon of thay or getting shovel permanently as a wizard. Are there more spells I can learn like that, that I don't have to prepare?

Any Tipps for the build? Spells, starts, gear(preferably early stuff) and etc. I can take the auntie Ethel hair for early 18 Int, but wasn't sure if I should get the alert feat or dual wilder feat, with the second feat I wanted to bump it up to 20 Int.
