Lio #A2037385 needs adoption or rescue by 7/4/26 - Van Nuys / Los Angeles, CA - transport possible

‼️🆘 LIO #A2037385 NEEDS A HERO 🆘‼️

💔 Last day to save: July 4
🚨 Scheduled for euthanasia: July 5

While fireworks light up the sky, Lio could quietly lose his life the very next day.

For weeks, people have walked past his kennel without stopping. No one has asked to meet him. No one has given him a chance.

Lio is a 6-year-old, 60 lb sweetheart who lives for time with volunteers.

He loves butt scratches, treats, and learning to play ball.

He appears to be housetrained, enjoys affection, and has been described as relaxed and gentle with children in his previous home.
He has no bite history.

The behaviors that landed him on the euthanasia list are manageable with the right home.
Like many shelter dogs, he's stressed and doesn't enjoy playgroups. He needs patience, understanding, and someone willing to see the dog beyond the kennel walls.

Lio is not invisible. He deserves more than to have his story end because no one noticed him.

Please, if you've ever considered adopting or fostering, let today be the day.

If you can't adopt, sharing his post could reach the one person who can save him.

Please come meet him at

Vato #A2249745 - needs adoption or rescue by 6/27/26 - Van Nuys / Los Angeles, CA - transport possible

🚨‼️🆘*VATO (#A2249745 )* 🚨‼️🆘

Last day to take dog:06/27/26
Scheduled euthanasia date:06/28/26
AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER, ADOPTION OR RESCUE

Male,2 ½ years old, 55 lbs, Australian Shepherd

Vato.  Someone who sticks by your side.  Someone equally happy hiking around a lake or chilling at your feet.  Someone tuned into you—who will listen to your dreams, your hopes, your fears.

This is what Vato offers, and this is what Vato needs.  Vato is smart & deeply affectionate, but scared. He craves companionship, though wary of strangers.  Adores being petted, LOVES treats & gets a real kick out of chasing a ball.
Sometimes reactive passing kennels,  & is not good in playgroup.  (He was scared, anxious, stiff & got into a dog fight his very 1st time in playgroup, & has been muzzled since—which he clearly hates).

Shelter notes state that Vato has high FAS (fear, anxiety, stress).  He was brought to the shelter as a stray  & the prior owner rejected him.  This owner said that Vato had nipped at his daughter (did not break skin) & tried to do same to his other daughter.  We do not know the circumstances,  but recommend that Vato be in a home without young children.  (And never leave a dog alone with a child.)

I wish everyone could feel the warmth & love I feel when Vato gazes at me.  He truly is ready to be your best friend, your soul mate, if you will just give him a chance.  But it will need to be soon:  without someone taking this chance, Vato will be euthanized this Sunday.

If you are out of state or the LA area and are seriously interested in adopting, please contact Bonnie LaPierre (+1 (818) 430-5959, who may be able to assist with setting up transport etc.

Adopter or Long Term Foster needed for Valerie #A2249496 by 7/3/26 - Los Angeles, CA - transport possible

🚨 URGENT - ADOPTER OR LONG TERM FOSTER NEEDED FOR VALERIE BY 7/3🚨

Valerie ( #A2249496 )is looking for a new foster home and needs a soft place to land. Her foster will be traveling for work for the summer and cannot keep her past 7/3. Since she was already on the euthanasia list when she was fostered she's in immediate danger once she goes back.💔

Valerie was saved from the euthanasia list at East Valley Animal Shelter and has been thriving in foster care. Her foster family adores her, and she’s shown everyone what a loving, goofy, affectionate girl she truly is.

At around 5 years old and 60 lbs, Valerie is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and couch companion. She loves long walks, belly rubs, tennis balls, and spending a surprising amount of time upside down. She’s happiest soaking up attention from her people and has consistently charmed volunteers with her sweet, affectionate nature.

Valerie enjoys a semi-active lifestyle and has successfully traveled and explored new places with her foster family. She's great in the car. She has been playful with friendly, respectful dogs, - proper dog introductions are always recommended.

Most of all, Valerie is looking for someone willing to open their home and give her the stability and love she deserves while she continues her search for a forever family.

Can you help Valerie take the next step toward her happy ending? ❤️

Playgroup rockstar GOBO #A2150757 needs rescue or adoption by 5/15/26 at 4pm - Van Nuys / Los Angeles, CA - transport possible

💔🚨🆘 GOBO #A2150757 needs rescue or adoption by 5/15/26 at 4pm 🆘💔🚨

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE URGENTLY NEEDED!!!

MUST RESCUE BY 4 PM on Friday 5/15
Euthanasia Anytime after 4 pm on 5/15

Male, Mixed Breeds, 3 yrs, 78 lbs

GOBO stands for GOod BOy. Cause that’s that Gobo is. Nope—I take that back—GOBO is the BEST BOY. You won’t find a better dog.

Gobo is so good in playgroup, he has been named a Rockstar! TWENTY TIMES. This doesn’t happen. It’s like winning an EGOT. (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award!) He is super at greeting other dogs, social and playful, with an often gentle & dainty playstyle. In interactions with people, Gobo makes volunteers SWOON. Well, pretty close. One volunteer said, “. He is truly the sweetest boy, I could sit with him for hours.” He walks well on leash, has the cutest zoomies, takes treats gently and loves affection.

After exercise, Gobo shows occasional hind limb lameness, which we learned is a CCL tear (it doesn’t stop his joy and zoomies) but the shelter states he is suffering from chronic pain issue which cannot be managed well in shelter. Must be rested, but cannot achieve any behavioral enrichment in shelter if patient must remain in his kennel at all times.

We desperately need someone to step up & take a chance on Gobo. A dog this good CANNOT just be tossed aside, Gobo needs a savior. Could that be you???

Out of area? Transport help may be available for serious adopters. Please contact Bonnie LaPierre +1 (818) 430-5959

Berry #A2267989 needs adoption, foster or rescue by 5/11/26 - Van Nuys / Los Angeles, CA - transport possible

🆘 EMERGENCY ‼️ Berry #A2267989 is only 1 year and 4 months old and he’s a sweet little 🍓 berry pie 🥧

For this Mother’s Day, bring home the best fruit basket you could ever ask for 🥺.

Little Berry came in as a stray 💔. Though he doesn’t know commands, you can tell he’s really trying to please his person. He loves treats, he’s social with other dogs, polite with his greetings and he’s steerable when needed.

Berry is a low energy pup who just wants to snuggle and have a snack.

Euthanasia reason: kennel presence toward staff, but he’s quite gentle and has a polite tail wag when volunteers approach (see video clip). He’s rightfully terrified 🥺. The shelter is no place for a sweet little berry boy.

Please consider adopting/fostering or share so someone can finally pick this sweet boy from the patch before it’s too late 💔. You can visit him today at the shelter between 11am to 5pm (shelter is closed tomorrow and he will be euthanized on Tuesday).

Berry is a 1y, 4mo old shepherd (probably with some rottweiler) mix. He is 74lb of sweetness and affection.

Handsome Rocky #A2135352 needs adoption or rescue, foster or rescue by 5/11/26 - Van Nuys / Los Angeles, CA - transport possible

🆘🚨 Handsome Rocky #A2135352 needs adoption or rescue, foster or rescue by 5/11/26🚨🆘
Scheduled Euthanasia Date: 05/12/26
Neutered Male, Black and Brown German Shepherd Mix
Shelter: East Valley Age: 3 years Weight: 59lbs
Has been at the shelter since 04/22/26

Reason for euthanasia: kennel presence (see listing for details)

Rocky originally came to the shelter as an owner surrender on 04/20/24 for landlord issues. His first owners left him great notes and he earned playgroup rockstar status in May of 2024. Despite this he was placed on the euthanasia list due to having been fearful on intake. He was adopted but unfortunately returned on 4/22/26 as the owner couldn't care for him anymore (due to age).

The owner again left him great notes about being friendly, playful but slightly jumpy. He loves pets, knows some commands and is crate trained.

Rocky is understandably confused and still adjusting to the shelter. Volunteers who have met him describe him as friendly but shy. He walks nicely on leash, non reactive to other dogs and is house trained.

Rocky does not play fetch but is interested in playing with balls and toys especially once he's comfortable. He enjoys pets and scratches and takes treats gently from your hand.

Rocky seems to be more timid and skittish around men but warms up over time. He is more affectionate once he knows you better and craves human attention.

Rocky doesn't mind the water and has been non reactive with other dogs at the fence. Since his return he has been in several playgroup but has not regained rockstar status yet. Rocky is tolerant of other dogs but seems anxious and can be timid. He often mainly mingles. Rocky likes to play with softer dogs and seems to prefer smaller yards. He gives appropriate greetings and is steerable.

Rocky deserves a chance at a forever home with someone that loves him and won't give him up again - can this be with you?

🆘2 year old ball obsessed Luke #A2265784 needs adoption, foster or rescue by 4/28/26🆘

Scheduled Euthanasia Date: 04/29/26

Male, Black and White German Shepherd

Shelter: East Valley Age: 2 years Weight: 49lbs

has been at the shelter since 04/13/26

Reason for euthanasia: safety concerns and observed aggression - see listing for details

Owner surrender mid April for no home / reactivity. They claim they had found him on the street as a puppy. Per owner Luke lived with another dog but does not get along with kids. He apparently nipped at someone but didn't break skin prior to the surrender. The owner said he's wary of strangers and barks at them but described him as friendly, playful, "very sweet" and that he loves playing fetch. He lived outside but is also crate trained.

Luke has been friendly with volunteers - he's somewhat insecure but easy to leash and walk. He knows a couple of commands like sit, down and paw. He is food motivated and eager to learn - takes treats gently - a bit picky but likes cheese.

Luke loves to chase the ball but does not bring it back consistently. He loves catching balls in mid air and is pretty agile - best to trade with him for another ball as can be slightly possessive when chewing.

Luke enjoys the kiddie pool and seems to not be afraid of water. Luke enjoys the kiddie pool and seems to not be afraid of water.

In playgroup Luke is muzzled as he can be assertive and pushy - he's less tolerant of males and seems to still figure out how to play appropriately.

Luke deserves a chance at finding a loving home that works at building his confidence - can this be with you?

🆘Sweet girl Boo #A2198520 needs adoption, foster or rescue by 4/28/26🆘

Scheduled euthanasia date: 4/29/26

Spayed Female, Black and Brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Shelter: East Valley Age: 1 year, 11 months

Weight: 75lbs

Came to the shelter recently as an owner surrender on 3/30/26 due to homelessness.

Reason for euthanasia: selective in playgroup - see listing for details

Boo was surrendered end of March due to the owner becoming homeless. Former owner left her glowing notes - friendly with strangers, lived with kids and cats - no complaints about behavior in or outside the house - house and crate trained.

Boo has been friendly with volunteers she has met and loves getting pets and scratches. She will even ask for pets when you stop petting her.

Boo is a young energetic dog that loves to play with balls and toys and do zoomies in the yard. She knows several commands like sit, down, shake and come and knows her name.

Boo can be a bit picky about treats but loves cheese and takes treats gently. She's friendly with everyone she meets and has never met a stranger.

Per her previous owner she was friendly with other dogs - in shelter started out as social during a brief stay in 2025. In playgroups she's been listed as selective and goes in muzzled as she can be assertive and pushy. Recently she went in unmuzzled in smaller yard with "stable" dogs and has done well with known friends with similar play styles.

Boo is a sweet girl that deserves a happy ending and a family of her own - could this be with you?

Please come meet her at
