Pest control companies you’ve had good experiences with?

I’ve got a hornet nest on my house that’s around the size of a volleyball. I’m half tempted to just wait until winter, but it’s near a door and if it gets much bigger, there’s a good chance I’ll bump it and that could be bad. Anyone have a pest service they liked?

Higher ping times over the past week?

Anyone been getting worse server latency over the past week, especially to SF or Chicago? I went from routinely around 30ms to typically 70+.

Boston Red Arrow flyover?

There was a loud flyover in Framingham about 10 minutes ago, so I popped open flightradar to see what it was, and saw this RAF Hawk T1A, call sign REDARROW. Looked it up, and there's supposed to be a fly over at the state house this afternoon. Pretty cool.

But... while I'm watching it takes a turn to the south east over 93, turns south west, and then disappears from radar (see screenshot). No further info.

So, uh, is anyone in the area that peek out your window?

Fixed wing and drone?

Looking to get into FPV flying and I’d like to get a headset that’s compatible with both drones for good videos and fixed wing for fun. Should I go DJI? What about the Antigravity A1 - it looks like a great drone, but are there any options to connect it to a fixed wing platform?

Death Valley on BritBox directly vs. Amazon BritBox for US?

In the US and have BritBox via Amazon, and only season 1 of Death Valley is available. Season 2 has finished airing in the UK, and I'd have expected to be able to find it, but can't. If I subscribe to BritBox directly, is it available there?

Flight canceled, can't rebook?

I booked a flight for September, and got an email saying it was canceled and changed to another flight (at 6 in the morning, which is too early). So I dutifully follow the link, load up my reservation, hit the change button and... get an error saying the reservation wasn't booked by JetBlue, but a "third-party provider" and "cannot be changed online".

But I booked it through JetBlue's website. I have the confirmation from JetBlue. I have the screenshots I took of the reservation on JetBlue's website when I made it. At no point was this ever a third party.

What's fun is that the error message doesn't say "contact us for assistance" but "contact the third-party provider". smh

Anyone know a way around this?

Why Did PBS Cancel Their Best Math Show?

Anyone remember Square One Television? Mathnet, Mathman, etc. This video is interesting breakdown of where it came from, why it was successful, and why it died.

Not mine, just popped up in my feed.

Life is an endless series of experiments with opportunities for learning...

We tried megathreads to group off career/pro se inventor questions, but after observing the results, they didn't work. They got less engagement (it's easier to ignore a post that just says "inventor megathread" than to ignore one that says "I filed an application and my attorney spontaneously combusted, what do?"), and also didn't completely reduce the repeat questions we had generally.

So, we're trying something else... The megathreads are going away, and it's once more a free-for-all... here. Professionals, if you get bugged by this, join r/patents, which will be concentrated for just professional practice/jurisprudence discussions. We will be more rigorously enforcing a "no student/pro se" questions rule there and directing everyone to repost their question here in r/patentlaw.

Ideally, you join both - r/patents for professional legal discussions, r/patentlaw for everything else. Should make it easy to set your notifications to how you want.

For inventors and students, please check the Wiki. Most of your questions are answered there.
