so long 13pro, you will be missed

upgrading to a 17pro after 4 years. tbh i loved the 13pro but recently its performance has been declining. battery health is at 74%, constantly going sos mode/no sim, dead pixel on my screen for the past 2.5 years, and macro and 0.5 lens issues that won’t go away. plus my 13pro has been eligible to upgrade for a while now.

sucks cause i’d keep it if it didn’t cost $700 to fix all the problems. anyway, nice verizon rep waived the $40 upgrade fee. will be trading in my iphone once transfer is complete. can’t wait to see how long this will take (i have heard mixed things- 1 hour-2days)🫪🫪🫪

Great Blue Heron

found my moms old nikon d80 camera a few days ago and i’ve been messing around with it and figuring out how it works.

i went fishing today and was able to take an amazing picture of this blue heron. was really shocked and pleasantly surprised by how it turned out. i personally like the first three pictures the best. i think the dark green background looks good and contrasts the bird beautifully. my parents and brother like the last picture better. either way so cool!

cold steak yum

third pic was it freshly cooked, but my dad didn’t finish the whole thing (which is why it’s now leftovers). i didn’t think it would taste good after being in the fridge for 24 hours but it’s still super good😭😭😭

first time cooking a petite sirloin steak

sear is lowkey nonexistent but that’s okay. taste is super good which kinda surprised me.

before this i had only ever cooked ny strips and a ribeye once. did 1 minute, flipped 50 secs, flipped at 25 seconds and again at next 25 sec mark and pulled it. got this in a 3 pack for about $8.50

forgot the coffee milk?

ordered:

medium cold brew, 3 pumps peanut butter, coffee milk, light ice

the only things she put on the sticker/receipt was the peanut butter swirl. lot of baristas do this when it’s slow or if they were foregoing the 50¢ for the CM (i used to work at dunkin and starbucks LOL). anyway i usually don’t care when they don’t put everything on the sticker but sometimes i feel like they’ll forget (esp the light ice)

anyway, this post is ab the coffee milk. ik coffee milk doesn’t make the drinks as light as whole milk does AND swirls make iced coffee and cold brew a few shades lighter once mixed. it just didn’t taste like there was much in it, if any at all. what do you guys think based on the shade??? (cuz i think she forgot the coffee milk, and the cold brew appears lighter cause the swirl, but i could be mistaken)

emma’s current hiatus- as a longtime fan

i just scrolled through this sub for the first time and read some posts and this is my take on emma’s off and on again (currently off) hiatus.

I’ve watched her since i was in middle school (her san francisco era and all) she’s four years older than me. i’ve been a fan of hers since her early days, and of AG. i saw a lot of discourse talking about “her fans getting her to where she is and then abandoning them/us”. which first off, influencers (youtubers) especially don’t owe us anything (just wait). yes we made them big, our support, our views etc. and that’s wonderful. but to feel as though they need to be locked in on a specific career because of something they started when they were 16 is borderline crazy. people grow and change, emma’s mentioned this alll the time on the podcast. say she were to ever leave the entertainment industry indefinitely, that is okay. her supporters started supporting her whenever they did in her journey. but she in no way shape or form needs to continue that just because “we GoT hER thErE”. like will it be sad YES, will we miss her YES. but nothing is ever permanent. and she’s not even abandoning us, if youtube no longer serves her why would she continue? her priorities are gonna shift. i get the mindset of “we made you famous….” blah blah. but yeah YOU DID. it was a conscious choice to watch her videos, podcasts, buy her coffee, etc. also if she were to leave forever, she’s not saying “fuck you guys fuck my supporters idc about yall and where you got me” at all. her choosing to leave does not represent her appreciation for what she’s been given all these years. that’s what i think people mix up. i dunno. i’ve always respected her as a youtuber and influencer she’s different than almost every one else out there on the internet these days. i love her and her content and all the eras she had (san francisco, sistersquad era, her chaotic daily vlogging, + the slowed down vlogs). i personally don’t think she’s going anywhere permanently, just taking a break. ALSO might i add the dolan twins disappeared and for sure other super big youtubers who i can’t think of rn. it’s life. it ebbs and it flows. if people no longer want to support her bc her content doesn’t align with what they want to watch then that’s okay, or bc of all the breaks that’s okay too.

idk just wanted to throw my two cents out there. cause i feel like i don’t see this perspective enough.

thoughts? disagree agree?

surf n turf (thin strip steak)

this was super cheap. $7 and def not the best but i just wanted to see how it compared to the usual steaks i get at target and aldi
cooked it for 55 seconds one side then about 40 for the other. did the fat the pulled it. let it rest and when i first cut it it was definitely bluerare. so i threw it back on for prolly a total of a minute (30 seconds each side). honestly not horrible and tastes fairly decent (the crust is absolutely horrendous tho. don’t even know where it is)

surf n turf dinner tnnn
