Ideas to keep this interesting

What would you fine friends like to see in this group? Other groups have the high end, high quality, new age and tacticool knives pretty well represented. I want this community to be a place to show off pieces you find interesting regardless of dollar value or judgemental opinions. To that end, I've invited you all to share, with a focus on classic/traditional designs, your favorite folders.

Admittedly, my modest collection doesn't provide me enough material to post daily. I'm new to collecting and you are all along for my journey. Hell, I haven't even decided how to focus my collecting, mostly I'm interested in the various designs of traditional knives. Which could be satisfied by picking up readily available Old Timers at reasonable prices that are perfectly adequate for daily pocket carry. The antique store finds that I prefer, I think are more along the line of novelty pieces, I'd likely to be interested in a knife with a nostalgic logo regardless of quality, where as I'm resistant to purchasing a standard used knife if I can get basically the same thing new for the same price or cheaper. Admittedly there's a certain charm to a well used knife and for the right price, I'm happy to pick those up that look to have some history.

What I'm trying to say with my rambling, as the witching hour approaches, is , while I'm not concerned about the statistics of this sub, I do want to provide a little something to keep my fellow enthusiasts interested. What might make this sub more fun?

Why was Despereaux on the roof?

If every theft went down like Shawn thinks, why was Despereaux anywhere near the crime scene when the cops showed up?

Thanks

This is my first Sub. I hope I referenced that correctly as I'm also fairly new to Reddit. I don't know what the protocol is, but I'd like to thank everyone who's joined, shared and taken an interest. Let me know if there's something I can do better. I really haven't a clue what I'm doing here. But really Thank You!

What makes you think of Psych?

Every time I hear the first line of Lawyers, Guns and Money I think of the Pilot Episode. Don't know why...

Kitsch Knife of the day

While perusing antique stores on Main St., I wandered into the local hardware store. They had cases of Casexx knives that were way outside my meager budget, but this guy called to me (literally, it has my name on the other side 🤣). Not gonna find its way into my pocket, but I had to have it.

Antique store acquisition

Japanese two blade similar to Case 083 as far as I can tell. Nothing too special except I didn't already have an opposing two blade knife.

First Barlow

My first Barlow. Picked it up at a thrift store because it looked like it had stories to tell. Might reshape the blade and find a place in my pocket.

Incidentally it's also the first knife I've owned with a half stop.

First knife

The first knife kit I built when I was about ten. Carried it every day for about three years. Found it in an old box of memories. It snapped open nicely but didn't snap closed. A little lube and it walks 'n' talks like new.

Scout knife

My old Boy Scout knife. Found it in my shop where it obviously lay neglected. A few minutes on the wire wheel and some shots of Fluid Film and it's been added into daily (weekends) pocket rotation.

Pocket knife slip/cover?

Legitimately curious.

I recently became aware of the existence of slips or covers for pocket knives. As a person who has carried a lockback in a belt sheath for forty years and a smaller slipjoint in my pocket for about ten years, I'm curious about the reason for using a slip/cover. It seems to me that it would add extra bulk in the pocket and extra steps to the deployment of said knife. Just curious about other's opinions.

Please help identify

The only knife in an antique store who's owner admits that she generally avoids selling knives. I took a look at it mostly to humor her since she was so nice and seemed hopeful to sell it. Ultimately I passed on it because, although the action was quite snappy, I wasn't crazy about the overall quality.

She did ask me what I thought of the price. I told her that I didn't know enough about it, I didn't even recognize the maker's mark. I did take pictures so that I could look into it, if for no other reason than to satisfy my own curiosity and further my education.
