Just thought of Volume 1 Blake, honestly went a solid 5 seconds going "what changed?" during my first watch, or maybe I was just high

For anyone that cared, I did do a post yesterday about my first watch through. I thought more about the overall story today, and tbh I think that it has a lot of questionable writing throughout. But since its already been dissected multiple times here ima not dive into it

I just finished my first watch of the series (follow-up from my last V7 post)

Spent Sunday finishing the last 2 volumes. I'm trying to be neutral, but I kinda get why the fandom is so doomposting.

V8 not to my surprise is the dominos effect from V7's decisions. We shot our own foot with a rocket launcher. Series of bad calls then we handed Salem everything on a silver platter.

I got distracted a lot while watching V9 because I pretty much lost the plot. Except a few Ruby's scene and close to the end of the volume, I'd call this the average 3am fever dream. I also hate how they didn't give us a single second for what is happening back in Remnant (and we probably won't get much in the "coming soon" V10 anyway because they need move the plot forward). V8 probably wouldn't get so much hate had V9 progressed the plot and condensed whatever I just watched into 2-3eps instead of 3 hours. Saw everyone dooming about V8 on my last post, but I'd call V9 to be the flop instead.

Speak of which, is there any news for V10 after 1 month, like didn't the "early writing stage" and "overview of V10" was said back in 2024?

New watcher just finished the 7th volume

Idk why but I kept thinking about Jayce in Arcane when seeing James Ironwood.

At least for the first 1-2 hours of the volume.

I am not unfamiliar with the concept of cutting losses to save the rest during war time, but the last few episodes is like watching someone playing chess with seconds on the clock, rushing for a hail marry play while being down like 20 points of material, with that play having an odd close to 0% of success. Hes playing all the wrong moves against a massive time pressure.

Personally for now, I'm thinking it's building up for the main cast to finally take the stage when everything is going downhill.

Welp, I still have 2 more volumes to catch up, then wait for volume 10 - the announcement of this caught my attention of this series for the first time and I would rate it a 8/10 so far.

Ok hear me out on this modifier

The argument on "just sacrifice 2 rounds then its easy win for empress" is half true. I peaked 3k8 trophies, and theres a dilemma when 4 empresses are in the same lobby for this mode.

If you sacrificed 2 rounds for eco but they didn't, you are at a 7 health disadvantage with no economy bonuses because they did not lose any troops, hell you might even have less elixir if they put goblins on the board. Chances are you get knocked out as soon as round 3, happened to me or others in my lobby multiple times.
If in any of the 2 rounds you took the gamble that enemy saved for economy but both of you didn't, whoever loses are doomed for the rest of the match.

Not to mention the stupid unfair shit when its 3 players left. The guy that fought the dead player always win. If its still 3 players after you 1v1'd the other guy, pray you get matched with the dead one. If not, guess I'll die. Even then the 1st place dude already blocked all of your shit so you can't even string up a good comp and have to accept 2nd.

It is actually rare to see one empress snowball 3 star comp style in a "one life to live" game if everyone is competent. 80% of the times it's mutually assured destruction.

I probably didn't convey my thoughts well enough but this should get most of my points across, I'm kinda tilted after 4 of this modifiers games in a row and net -50 lol.

I just started watching and I'm a third the way through 6

Wait, thats it? So I just have to trust the writers now, try to kill the unkillable?
The only way I see going forward is yet another villain redemption arc.

Every step I take it's spreading corruption

Texture pack going wild every now and then so I have to restart the game for it to work normally again

Istg this smuck is as braindead as old seasons sage 🫩

Ever since i stopped pushing to opt for non empress rulers for fun this fker wins in my lobby 80% of the time. Even a one star witch early means quest orb -> snowballs the rest of the game. I probably have to pick up empress again to block undead and avoid my 3 star comp lose to a single 2 star witch and 1 star undeads

EWC

(Gotta migrate here the T1 sub mods are being bitches again)

These fuckers never learn. I had a feeling this would be the result since the Oner lvl1 flip in game 2. They continued to arrogance gaming and completely disrespect the enemy, especially oner.
T1 needs to bomb out of Worlds early this year to learn something, just like the 2022 loss.

I am very sorry

Sorry Naiyou, turns out you were saving the LPL from another humiliation ritual in FST. They should have banned the 4 other players instead of you.

My country is putting up nonsense laws

Before anyone say "oh its just a facebook post, fake news", nah it's real. My friend got a formal warning because he brought his girlfriend over last night. Failure to comply results in a small fine (~40USD after currency exchange)

Is it just me or high ladder game result is decided by quest orb

I pushed into 3k6 and 6 out of 10 games are literally decided in the first quest orb, the rest of the games are decided at the second quest orb. Four players roll a slot machine, whoever gets the better stuff wins. 5 elixir is ok to start cycling merges but theres no way I can compete with skele drag or 6/6 trait enablers. I just stopped pushing cuz watching the dagger duchess skillfully pull a 3 star monk out of their ass while I only just got my first 3 merge is very frustrating
