Are there any success stories in terminating a lease early due to infestations?

I would like to know as I am trying to do so. I have a previous post on my issue that didn't get many replies but if you have a success story please share. I am located roughly in Louisville, KY.

Infestation issue and wanting to terminate a lease early. (KY)

Location: Louisville, KY

Hi,

I have an issue where I toured an apartment multiple times. I thought the place was pest free but I never got to see my original unit before I moved in because they didn't give me notice that they would be closed the day I made an appointment to see it legally 48 hours before my move in. When I got there it was roach infested. They offered a new unit in a new building that was also roach infested but I had already signed the lease and had no where to go. They claimed that last week they would have an exterminator come in and he never showed up to my unit.

Now I have somewhere new and want to leave. I don't have much stuff and could easily pack and move out but I can't just terminate my lease.

I saw KRS § 383.625 which states that if I mail in a notice stating how this is noncompliance in my renter's agreement (which it is a standard of living and biohzd issue) that I may deliver a written notice to the landlord specifying this with a lease termination date of 30 days after the arrival then I may terminate the lease. That is only if they cannot remedy the issue 14 days after receiving the notice I delivered.

My guess is they'll send a person to spray my place because that is apparently all they do. However this will not solve the issue (I have already sprayed my apartment and they still show up.) Also the infestation is in the entire building.

The plan is to hand it out tomorrow with a termination date of 9/20 giving them ample time for the guideline. I will have 3 copies signed by myself. Hand one to the property manager to sign, date, and write "received by." the follow up with a digital email and photo evidence. If the property manager denies it I will mail via certified mail with return receipt requested.

Immediately after I plan to submit a complain to the main office of the health department for the city. Allegedly this may take 3-7 business days which is a concern. But they will inspect the roaches in the unit and the public halls. Then I want to secure an official report.

Should they send a person and claim to make effort with a cheap pest guy on day 13 or something I will call the health department again to show it was not treated before the 30 days again. They shouldn't be able to claim I brought the roaches due to evidence. I will not breach my contract until then. I will have a storage unit to send my stuff at temporarily save my bed and necessities until the day I can leave.

My questions are is this a good way to go about this? Is there anyone that can help me identify any way they could get around this or if I am doing something completely incorrect in this process?

Just moved and spotted them, scared. Tips on how to legitimately get rid of them from kitchen and living room.

I just moved and toured an apartment TWICE. I didn’t see them either time until I actually moved in and I’m so disappointed but also I want them gone. I know they have to be the German or Asian ones.

My property manager says they come out with exterminators on Thursdays and I’ll get one next week. However, until then I’ve added combat traps. What else can I do?

Considering sealing holes just have to go out to buy the stuff. I’m also going to start sweeping and cleaning regularly.

Advice? DIY Postbacc and worried about cost

I need a major GPA boost and I need to fulfill some premed requirements. MY GPA is a 2.75 for undergrad. While I got my bachelors I did fulfill some related courses for premed but I don't qualify for grad programs with this GPA and was denied. I am confident I can do the DIY postbacc but I am worried I can't pay for it because I dont get federal aid.
I am considering private loans but I also have federal loans from undergrad to pay off. I am really worried about all of this.

Advice? Questions? I am going to do a postbac at a professional school as someone who already has a bachelor's, what are my options for federal aid?

I am going to attend another university to fulfill pre reqs for med school and apply the next cycle. I want to apply for fafsa but technically my title is "non degree seeking post bac student". Can I still apply for a federal un/subsidized loan? And also will I have to begin paying my undergrad immediately or will those be held?

Advice? Tips? I (22F) am moving out to another city and I am worried about living alone. I have extreme anxiety over it, please help if you can relate (I really would appreciate it)

Hello!

(Context.) I am 22 years old and I moved out last year from my parents. It was not an amicable move because I did it without them knowing but it was due to a lot of factors and I was well prepared. I ended up living in an apartment that I don't really like but its near my college and I have two roommates. I live in an area 25 minutes from a major city but have lived with my family my whole life in the suburbs in a relatively safe area. Even where I am now I don't feel like it's too dangerous and I even feel comfortable carrying my groceries in at night.
(Current stuff.) I graduated college with my bachelor's and I am heading down south (same state) about 1 and 1/2 hours to another school for my masters. This school is in the inner city and a relatively large one as well. I am SO STRESSED though because I can't really find roommates reliably so I am looking to live on my own. Which I can do and is possible. However, for some reason every single apartment I look at I get uneasy about feeling safe on my own. The best one I found still makes me feel nauseous when I think about moving. I plan to do some drive bys and parks at night (with a buddy) to get a feel for them at night. I have my top 3 but time is running out.

I would really appreciate it if any fellow redditors on TGSG could let me in on advice if they are having or had a similar experience. For some reason I feel like no matter where I drive I can imagine something wrong happening to me at every single place. Is this normal? I think I also feel like I have some preconceived fears about women living alone (instilled by family and culture) and I just don't know how to get over that either.

I really don't have any friends going through this who could help me. They all either live with partners, roommates, or family (mostly family) and also are busy... It's really starting to affect my mental health and its been scary for me. I am trying not to be overdramatic about it either but I feel like I am lowkey freaking out really badly :(

TL;DR- I am moving to a new city for my masters and living alone and I am way too scared of every place I go to even if they don't seem that bad. How do I get over the fear? Time is running out on my lease (only 3 weeks left) and I need to sign but I am scared.

I [21F] met a guy [20M] at an event and I am not sure how to continue talking with him

I (21F) was at a concert and met a guy (20M) who gave me his number after we talked for a while and hung out. Turns out he’s from a different city a couple hours away but we’ve been talking daily for a week and I feel like I developed feelings for him.

I was originally with a few friends but we got separated and me and him met. He was very sweet and fun to talk to and be around and when my friends met back up with us we all talked but he ended up giving me his socials. I didn’t know if he just wanted to be friends (and still kind of am not sure but I’m also bad at taking a hint) however my friends pointed out he only talked to me and asked me. And also he’s been continuously talking to me.

However I don’t know how to approach this for multiple reasons. First of all the distance scares me, while it’s only a few hours (2 states away) I’ve never had a long distance like that. Secondly, we are a little different but somehow mesh and talk pretty well but I don’t know how to like transition that. Like we’ve been DMing, do I call? Do I just outright text it? Idk anymore. Would appreciate some advice

Tl;dr I met a guy in my city at a concert and would like to talk more because I feel romantically interested and don’t know how to approach it due to distance and communication online.

Posters at the Cincy concert?

I was looking at prohibited items and it said “banners” and “signs” and I was wondering if like it included all homemade posters. Never been to a Noah Kahan concert but I feel like I’ve seen people with posters at them on TikTok/Insta

If not that’s cool too just curious what everyone else has seen.
