Therapeutic advice not working

Is it possible that therapeutic advice simply is not working? Despite sounding very nice and wise. You try to follow the advice and it is only detrimental to you. I feel like therapist either gave me straight out bad advice or just created a mess in my head.

I feel like I always start fawning over any therapist and they just use it to get paid easily. With my current therapist I recently started to feel like I get same AI answers for everything. I can ask chat GPT and it responds me with more thoughtful answers. (I already tryed two therapists, it was always the same)

Advice like:
Just unmask as autistic person, be yourself more!! => you just get bullied
Talk with people about your issues! => they mostly recommend stuff I already considered or just talk nonsense, smalltalk and such
Spend more time with people and you will feel better! => just makes me exhausted, lonely and miserable
I think you may have PTSD, narcissism, be sociopath, although I would never say, you are narcissist, sociopath => I did several psychological and personality tests, all came out as aspergers and minor personality developmental issues caused by bullying by peers and life with aspergers

Pain and the feeling of fatality

Hi, I got asymetrical skeleton, shorter leg, L scoliosis... and recently at age 28 gonartrosis 1 and 2. I probably also got elbow artrosis.

My question is, does anybody feel the same? I mean, the pain kinda reminding them of the eventual death in life. Making you think about the end. For example, going for a nap, waking due to pain, thinking about death and being terryfied. Literally terryfied of how short life is.

How to cope with mortality?

Each single heartbeat brings me closer to my invevidable death.

There are health conditions human body cannot heal from.

What happens to me, when I close my eyes and sleep? Am I alive or dead for a moment?

Its terryfying.

Exhausted for hours after coming back from the city...

Anybody else here gets exhausted for hours when back from a city? Replaying some social interaction in head, having difficulty to do anything, being easy to set off and blow up... Just feeling this miserable unhealthy exhaustion from basically spending hours stressed out.

Is it worst for you? Or maybe not so bad? How do you experience the tiredness? Do you?

Medications effect on sexuality

I am here to share my outrage about effects of antidepressants.

>!Are you also bothered by being pressured to take medications and having your sexuality dulled? Delayed ejaculation or unsatysfying orgasm. Or even painful orgasm or ED.!<

Are there more autistic people bothered by this? Especially when everybody always says stuff how sexuality is every persons right... bla bla bla. Then you are pressured and manipulated into giving it up.

Is there even point of talking about this, because it seems nobody listens. Like my psychiatrist lies to me about meds, about condition for government benefits and then tells me: "Why is sex so important for you anyway?" Try talking about this topic to anybody without being made fun of.

Mouse issues over steamlink (turret girls, AoW4...)

Why some girls have mouse issues over steam link? I think the problem is first moving your mouse and only then clicking. Games do not register mouse moving before the click.

Games like: AoW4, Turret girls, X-angels...

Can therapy often hurt people with autism?

By therapy hurting somebody I mean:

  1. Getting bad advice, said confidently. (by neurotypical therapist, who cannot relate to your issues)
  2. Following said advice and getting bullied or ridiculet. Then gaslighted by the therapist and not understanding what is happening.
  3. Being blamed for your own issues by the therapist.
  4. Exiting therapy miserable and broken, while before the therapy, you were at least barely funcioning person.
  5. Feeling worse, doubting yourself more.

Becoming who you do not want to be

Do you ever feel like you are becoming somebody you never wanted to be? Like this cynical, exhausted, depressed person => people get exhausted just communicating with you.

(both mental and physical health issues at young age contribute to this)

Is it difficult for an autistic person to get the communication tone right?

Stuff like:

  1. Boundaries, realizing what can you say to whom, what you should not say. Or how to avoid saying stuff without seeming rude.
  2. Predicting how other person will react to what you say.
  3. Gaging when its the right time to say something.
  4. Getting the tone right => not sounding too emotional, not sounding too personal, not sounding too impersonal, not show too little emotion. Either like robot in relationships or somebody too emotional in other social interactions.

Sometimes you try and yes, get it right. Sometimes you overshoot and upset people. Especially people who do not know you are autistic, what autism is or do not care.

Note: I am not disscusing dislosure/non disclosure of autism. Not the point here.

Examples what I am talking about:

  1. You have an complaint, put too much emotion in (like phrasing, tone of voice...). People see that as personal attack or manipulation. Even if your demand is fully justified, they immediately shift to gaslight + defense. You may prove them wrong later, after headache. This anti sperg autocannon is super difficult to deal with.
  2. In relationships people see you as somebody who does not care enough.
  3. Other times in relationships people may feel uncomfortable and overwhelmed by your emotions.

Are "the relatively successful few" the most visible?

So I am talking about people with aspergers who can get a job, fit into society somehow and even find a romantic partner + have friends.

I feel like not everybody has their funcioning affected to the same degree. Lets be honest, there are people like that in support groups. However there are also many people who struggle with day to day funcioning. (some people can be diagnosed in adulthood, while others have assisstant in elementary school + almost drop out of elementary school)

Are successful autistic people the most visible type of autistic people? Some normies like to use this example and say: "See, even with aspergers you can make it if you try!"

Or is it that normies choose what to see and what to not see? Unable to accept, somebody else may have invisible limitations. Seeing their life experience as universal, objective and true for majority.

My brother's girlfriend is controlling when he's "allowed" to orgasm. Is this normal or a manipulation tactic?

I'm posting because something about this situation feels off, and I'm curious what people here think from a psychological perspective.

My brother (late 20s) has been dating his girlfriend for about a year. Recently he admitted that she's started controlling when he's allowed to orgasm. According to him, she decides when it can happen, sometimes tells him he has to wait days or weeks, and gets upset if he does it without her permission.

At first I assumed this was some consensual kink or bedroom dynamic, but the more I hear, the less convinced I am. The rules don't seem limited to sex. She apparently uses it as a reward when he's been "good" and as a punishment when she's angry or wants him to do something.

What concerns me is that he's started changing his behavior to avoid losing her approval. He seems anxious about disappointing her and talks about "earning" the right to orgasm as if it's something she owns.

I know consensual orgasm control/chastity exists, and I have no issue with that if both people genuinely enjoy it. But where is the line between a consensual sexual dynamic and psychological control?

From a dark psychology perspective:

  • Is restricting a partner's orgasms ever used as a dependency or conditioning technique?
  • Can intermittent rewards like this increase emotional attachment?
  • What signs would suggest this is manipulation rather than a mutually agreed-upon kink?
  • If you were his sibling, would you see this as a red flag or just an unusual relationship preference?

Interested in hearing different viewpoints, especially from people familiar with coercive control, conditioning, or power dynamics in relationships.

Is toxicity universal trait?

Or is it that person is toxic to be around only for somebody? I noticed that some people may get along fine and then not get along with other people. Like person A gets along with B and C. But person B does not get along with C.

Why do you think this is? Person B may describe person C as toxic and person C may avoid him as well.

Neurotypical people misinterpret autistic people

One thing I noticed: Many neurotypical people tend to misinterpret what autistic people say. They often get it the wrong way. You say something, they understand it completely differently.

Would neurotypicals be in the same position as autistic people in a world full of autists?

(basically chronic invalidation, bullying, inability to enjoy life offered...)

It makes for an interesting thought experiment. Swapping the population ratios. Imagine what such a world would be like. 😃

Autistic people perform poorly on non-structured tasks

Is it true that autistic brain handles non structured tasks poorly. Tasks where is not clear what they should do, stuff like that. So autistic person can excel in school with support... but then struggle in employment.

Why would somebody with aspergers be branded a narcissist?

So I have been seeing this a few times in my life. A person with aspergers sometimes gets misunderstood and labeled as bad person, narcissist or psychopath?

Why do you think this happens? Often times, person with aspergers is left chronically pondering what is wrong with them. Feeling shame, guilt and miserable. Meanwhile some actually narcisstic or psychopathic people run companies and funcion well enough.

Does AI "art" eventually get boring? (Even if somebody enjoys it at the start?)

Hello, I noticed a pattern in AI image generation users:

  1. First months: They start using AI, are fascinated by even 6 finger/toe images, weird eyes etc... Save it all.
  2. Following several months: They start making better images, but slowly start seeing it all looks the same and eats up a lot of their time for nothing.
  3. The burnout: They are just bored of getting images with weird proportions and AI no longer brings them much pleasure. They drop AI slowly.

.
.
.
.
.
.

Blabbering: I think AI just very often makes the same poses over and over again. If you use it for making images, there are little surprises. (Like sitting on a chair, legs crossed => ton of reference to make this one pose)

With human art, often there is originality, little easter eggs build into the art. You see it in artists... Everything was redone by a human, to fit a certain vision. You can kinda feel the love creator put into it. As you slowly discover the message hidden in their art. Even after viewing it many times, you still discover new things. Artist put a part of how they see the world into the art. Part of who they are. AI cannot imitate that. It does not understand what does it mean to want or suffer.

I mostly looked at hentai anime generation AI users. They would soon hit software limitations, frustration from correcting same AI mistakes over and over. And AI images bring them less pleasure overall. => Eventually it is not exciting.

Cope: You will get there eventually!

So a lot of times you hear that disabled people like us operate on different timeline. You achieve things later in life... (your life is not a sprint but a marathone!) That said YOU ARE GETTING OLDER. With age comes various pains and ailments. Decreased libido. You may very well get there eventually... but every person has only one youth.

=> Even neurotypicals eventually end up disabled an die (The amount of disabled neurotypicals start increasing at 30 and jumps up rapidly at 60. => I worked with the data)

Your thoughts?
