Best way to trim these wildflowers?

Earlier this year I planted a wildflower seed mix I got at the hardware store. They’ve grown nice and big, but the plants have gotten so large they are spilling way outside of the flower bed. I guess you could say they’ve gotten pretty wild.

Is it safe to trim them back without damaging the plant? Or just best to leave them as is?

I’m in north Texas, I just have a soaker hose setup that I run a couple times a week.

Also, anyway to make the large plant finally produce flowers? It just looks like a massive green bush

How long would it take a beginner to climb a specific V16/V17 if they devoted their life to it?

This is just a dumb question I've asked friends and people at my gym for a while, and the answers are always all over the place.

Say you take someone in their early 20s who's pretty athletic. Played sports growing up, reasonably fit, etc. They've been bouldering for about 6-12 months, so they're still a beginner but not startinf from nothing.

They pick one v16/17 climb anywhere in the world and move to wherever that climb is, basically make sending it their entire life.

They don't have to work. They have enough money to live, eat well, recover, etc. They have access to a good climbing gym, but all of their training is specifically for eventually doing this one boulder. They can build replicas, drill individual movements, get stronger for that climb, etc.

When they're actually projecting it, they also have experienced climbers there helping with beta, brushing, pads, power spotting, and so on.

They don't need to become a well-rounded V16 climber. They just need to become capable of doing the one climb

What climb do you think would have the best chance of doing this, and how long do you think it would take?

I’m also fully prepared to see this on the other sub, just thought it would be a fun thought experiment.

Upgrade suggestions from an audio technica lp60xbt?

The lp60xbt was my first turntable I bought 5 years ago, just got it cause it was the cheapest thing at Best Buy. I played it a ton using a Bluetooth speaker.

When I moved a few years back I didn’t have a place to set it, so it sat in storage for a while until recently I got a stand to place it on. It’s currently hooked up to a marantz nr1510, klipsch r120sw for sub and klipsch rp500m II as the bookshelves.

It doesn’t sound bad, but I feel like my current turntable is the bottleneck in terms of sound quality. I’m looking for an upgrade around the 300 dollar range. Because the marantz has a phono input, I don’t need a turntable that has the line out option. Just looking for pure best sound quality for around my budget. New please! I feel like I don’t know enough about them to safely buy used

Best way to store jerky?

Started buying jerky from my local Buc-ee’s as it’s freaking delicious and there are a ton of flavor options.

The guy at the counter said to keep it in the paper wrapper in the fridge, but after a few days it definitely dried out quite a bit.

How do yall store jerky to keep it tender? I’m only looking to store it for up to 5-7 days, as I plan on getting new stuff weekly.

Both flights took off from the same airport just minutes apart and both are landing at airports right near each other. Why is there over an hour difference in landing times?

Stuck in the mud or a ditch? I can pull you out for free

Hey everyone, looks like these storms are going to make our country roads and shoulders pretty muddy today. Some of you might remember me helping out during the winter storms, and I wanted to put the offer out there again.

If you lose traction and slide into a ditch or get stuck in the mud, I have the gear and experience to pull you back onto the pavement. Totally free, I just like to help.

Just a quick disclaimer so nobody gets stranded waiting on me: I am not a tow truck. I can’t haul broken-down cars or handle actual accident scenes, that’s for the pros and emergency crews. I'm just here for simple slide-offs and mud extractions where the car is otherwise fine.

I’m based in Denton but can drive out to the surrounding areas. If you find yourself stuck, send me a message or comment with your location and a photo of the situation.

I’ll be up till probably 11pm or midnight and will have my phone with me.

Anyone know how barking springs is looking?

I lived in Austin long ago and loved spending days off swimming in Barton springs.

I came and visited the area a couple of years ago and launched my paddle board from the high school and went up the springs ready to swim only to see a crazy overgrowth of seaweed. It was pretty to look at, but definitely not something I’d want to swim in

Has anyone been lately, and if so is the water clear again and good to swim, or is it still overran with vegetation? I’m wanting to come visit again soon
