Here is a pitch for a live-action adventure comedy film based on the legendary sandbox game, Garry's Mod.

Logline:

When four chaotic teenage friends accidentally trigger an experimental VR server, they are sucked into a bizarre, physics-defying digital sandbox. To escape, they must master the legendary Tool Gun, survive glitching realities, and defeat a rogue server admin before they are permanently deleted.

The Tone & Comparison:

Much like A Minecraft Movie (2025), Garry's Mod: The Movie features a "fish-out-of-water" premise where live-action characters are thrown into a bizarre, blocky/digital landscape with its own strange set of physical laws.

However, where the Minecraft movie leans into structured crafting, survival, and fantasy, GMod is pure, unadulterated chaos. The tone is a mix of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Free Guy, heavily steeped in absurdist internet humor, slapstick physics, and a total disregard for the laws of gravity.

Main characters:

  • Alex: The grounded, anxious leader who just wants to find the "Disconnect" button and go home.
  • Sam: The wildcard gamer who immediately embraces the madness, testing if there is fall damage (there is, and it makes a hilarious ragdoll sound).
  • Chloe: The tech-savvy coder who figures out how to wield the ultimate weapon: The Tool Gun.
  • "The Mingebag" (The Villain): A malicious, rogue server Admin who wants to wipe the server entirely, viewing the teens as annoying viruses.
  • Garry: A mysterious, tired entity (ideally played by a deadpan comedic actor like Jack Black or Ryan Reynolds) who built the world but lost control of it to the chaotic mods.

Plot Outline:

Act 1: Entering the Sandbox: The film opens in the real world. Four friends are hanging out in a basement trying to fix an old, heavily modded private server. A power surge interacts with a strange VR headset, zapping them into the digital world. They wake up in gm_construct—an eerie, vast grassy plain with a few seemingly empty concrete buildings and a strangely flat skybox. Suddenly, an un-textured, giant red ERROR sign falls from the sky and crushes a car, establishing that this world is deeply broken.

Act 2: The Rules of Chaos: The group discovers the iconic Physics Gun (which emits a glowing blue beam) and the Tool Gun. They must learn to survive various iconic GMod game modes that the rogue Admin throws at them to try and get them killed:

  • Prop Hunt: They are chased through an office building by heavily armed guards, forcing the teens to disguise themselves as ordinary objects (a water cooler, a coffee mug, a potted plant) in a tense, hilarious game of hide-and-seek.
  • The NextBot Chase: In a dark, labyrinth-like map, they are relentlessly pursued by a terrifying, hyper-fast, 2D JPEG image that makes a deafening, distorted sound as it chases them.
  • Trouble in Terrorist Town: They are forced into a scenario where they temporarily don't know which of their friends is secretly working for the Admin, leading to hilarious paranoia.

Act 3: The Ultimate Weld: To escape back to the real world, they need to reach the Admin's sky-base and hit the master reboot switch. Using the Tool Gun, Chloe and the gang spawn a ridiculous assortment of random items—couches, bathtubs, thrusters, balloons, and explosive barrels. They weld them all together into a monstrous, highly unstable flying machine.

In a massive, chaotic final battle against the Admin's army of glitched NPCs, the teens use their mastery of the physics engine (freezing objects in mid-air to use as stairs, flinging heavy props with the Physics Gun) to overthrow the Admin. They hit the switch, the server crashes, and they wake up back in the basement, just in time for dinner.

Easter Eggs & Fan Service:

  • Ragdoll Physics: Characters who get hit or fall don't just tumble; their limbs flail wildly in classic Source engine fashion.
  • Missing Textures: Entire sections of the world are covered in the infamous black-and-pink checkerboard pattern because someone "forgot to install Counter-Strike: Source."
  • Face Posing: At one point, the villain uses a tool to freeze the heroes' faces into horrifying, exaggerated, toothy grins.
  • Spamming Undo: A running gag where one character constantly spawns too many watermelons, nearly crashing the universe, while another screams to "Hit Undo!"

Here's the new trailer of the CGI animated film, "The Cat in the Hat".

Meet the Cat in the Hat you don't know! In the wonderfully whimsical tradition of Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat comes to the big screen in his animated theatrical feature film debut, an all-new, epic adventure with an edge, where mischief, magic and mayhem reign supreme.

Doing what he does best, the Cat—voiced by Bill Hader—spreads joy to kids in his hilarious, signature and singularly irreverent way, transporting them and audiences on a fantastical journey through a world they’ve never seen before.

In the film, our hero takes on his toughest assignment yet for the I.I.I.I. (Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC): to cheer Gabby and Sebastian, a pair of siblings struggling with their move to a new town. Known for taking things too far, this could be this agent of chaos's last chance to prove himself...or lose his magical hat!

The WORST Animated Movie Voting 2.0.!

A sequel to u/BigNasty717's The WORST Animated Movie Voting!

You see, everybody always votes for the worst movie out with the best winning. However, we’re going to flip the rules and make things topsy-turvy! I’ve gathered 30 of the worst animated films thanks to reviews from critics, audience, and the general public. Of course, there was some criteria and by that, it just needs to have a majority of it being animated to be considered.

The rules of this series are simple. You will vote out which movie you think is the BEST out of them and the two with the most upvotes will be eliminated from the competition. The sole survivor will be crowned as the worst animated movie of all time (according to the subreddit). You have 24 hours to vote, so let’s see which film truly is the most atrocious one out there.
