28f not married. I'm still exploring my sexuality and shaking off the shame of masturbation, and I'm curious what others think about this. Are toys okay outside of marriage?

I, 28f am not married. But I have a moderate sex drive. I'm not willing to have sex before marriage, and i cap on certain things while dating, but i hate the shame that comes with being a woman and being horny or just feeling sexual feelings in general.

I'm not a nun for goodness' sake. am I the only one who feels this way?

I occasionally read smut (rarely watch porn) and am still trying to come to terms with how I feel about it within the church. There's a lot of talk against masturbation and having personal sexual experiences outside of marriage in general. I think it's good to be moderate, but completely? I don't know. I mean, what makes masturbation different within a marriage than without?

Just to clarify, I don't want to have sex before marriage. I just don't want to feel dirty for reading something like that. It's really made me question marriage and whether or not I'll be considered dirty or undesirable.

I kind of feel like I'm just here to be here and that I'm not experiencing college in an immersive way. I really want to be present and available and involved, but it all also feels kind of unnecessary, too. I'm usually thinking about money, anyway, so that doesn't really help. Okay so I just got back from a date and it was...interesting to say the least. He was very fidgety, barely looked me in the eye, and was a little exaggerated in behavior. He would also suck on his cheeks, lick the inside of his mouth, and lick his lips.

A part of me thinks this is personality or insecurity showing but nonetheless, I've never met someone like him.

So, I have long fingers and my arms are ambidextrous which, in my eyes, makes my arms and wrists look weird when I dance. Because my fingers are so long, they make my hands look like they're kind of just dangling whether I am or am not using them.

Any advice? Should I be consciously doing something with my hands?
