What would you have done?

17 items $105 total, $22 tip

Shopper was very slow getting to the store and order arrived 2 hours after estimated time.  I sent him a message asking status. He didn't respond. I confirmed with Instacart that app was working. I'm 20 minutes from the store.  But, that's not my issue.

The issue is about 15 minutes before arriving here (and when he should have already been here) he called me and said he just moved here two days ago and had no idea where to go. I live on a major large street in a big City.  My large building isn't hidden away.  I told him it's on X Street between x Street and x Street on the right side.  I couldn't have been clearer.  He kept asking people walking by where to go. They told him.  No luck. Finally, he asked someone who works at my front desk, so she showed him where to come in. Again, it's a very large building with the name clearly displayed. I always send a message confirming both the address and name of my building. This whole fiasco took over 20 minutes while he was within two blocks of my building.

He kept repeating that he just moved here two days ago. But, what was I supposed to do other than repeat where to go.  Shouldn't he have familiarized himself with the area. It's not like the store was an hour away.

The thing is, his shopping waa fine and pretty quick once he started.  I let the tip remain,  but gave him 4 stars instead of 5. If there was a space for an explanation,  I may have given 3 stars. But, I didn't want it to seem like a shopping issue.

Is there anything else I could have/should have done?

I know there's no definitive answer to this

but, dashers do you read delivery messages?

Here's my issue. I live in a high rise condo. Delivery is never an issue, except they are doing construction in front of my building. We have to enter and exit on the side of the building where the parking garage is. It's not complicated. I changed the address to that entrance. I want to message the driver saying the entrance is next to the garage, since there's no actual number on it. There is a sign with my building's name on a ramp going into my building on the side, but it could be hard to see if you don't know where it is. Once inside they will be in the same area as they would be if they came in the front.

I don't understand the problem people have with Ubereats

I placed an order. In a reasonable time, I received a message it was delivered -- no picture. It wasn't outside of my apartment door where it was supposed to be. I went down to my lobby. It wasn't there either. I called the driver and asked where it was. He said reception (lobby). I checked again -- not there. Confirmed by people at my front desk.

I contacted support and said I didn't get my order. They immediately, with no questions, asked if I wanted Uber Cash or a refund to my credit card. Since Uber cash was immediate, I chose that.

Then, I did a chat with an agent to be sure my tip and the promo I had used would also be refunded. No problem, both were immediately.

These "conversations" took under five minutes and everything was resolved.

So, again what is the problem?

A bit of nostalgia -- Wanafrost

who remembers getting off of the escalator in the basement of Wanamaker's and coming face-to-face with the Wanafrost counter? It was soft ice cream. You had your choice of vanilla, chocolate, or (the best) swirl. That's it. No dips, no toppings. Just soft ice cream. Either a cone or a cup. If you're too young or didn't live here -- too bad.

I wish I knew why I woke up thinking about this. It must have been a helluva dream I had.

I have a craving for lo mein

not a specialized noodle dish like they have at Nan Zhou, just basic lo mein.

So, ordering in Center City the Ubereats which is the very best, and is the chicken, beef, shrimp or pork the one to get.

Requirements are not overly salty and must have onions/scallions.

Thanks.

Question for Shoppers

I have a mobility issue and need to have my order delivered to my door (10th floor elevator building). It's on my instructions. But, I also my message that following when the order is on the way.

Building is xxxxxxxxxxxx, Street. Sometimes the GPS messes up. I use a walker and it can be difficult for me to bring the order up from the lobby, so please bring to Apt xxx and leave it outside of my door. If you need a cart, ask the desk for one. Thank you very much. 🌝

If it's a repeat shopper, I say

I know you were here before. But, as a reminder If you need a cart to bring the order up, you can get one at the front desk. Thanks.

Everyone is very cooperative and there isn't a problem. I order weekend mornings, so they can find space in front of my building. I also tip well, keep my list under 30 items, and don't order things like cases of water.

My question is if you were delivering to me after the second time, would you be annoyed if I sent you the reminder again about the cart?

Thanks.

Stephen is taking the Colbert Questionert on Wednesday

I'm hoping The Colbert Report Stephen gives it to him. Do you think he will guess the number he's thinking of?

that's not about service. When I go to the Xfinity website, it's all in Spanish. When I try to switch it to English, it changes for a second, but then immediately goes back to Spanish. Since, I don't speak Spanish, I can't figure out what to do.

I tried doing a chat, but none of the choices applied to this.

Thanks for any help.

Chicken parm sandwich from Cleaver's, delivered by Ubereats.

The description said fried breaded chicken cutlet, but it was just chunks of chicken and they weren't good. The roll was delicious, the cheese and sauce were fine. I ended up removing the chicken and had a cheese and sauce sandwich. But, since the chicken was the most expensive part, it really annoyed me.

Am I wrong to think the description of the chicken was misleading?
