Shower thought: Bollywood's obsession with using "kutta" as an insult is honestly so cringe

For decades, Bollywood has used kutta as shorthand for someone disgusting, cowardly or beneath respect and we really should stop accepting that as normal. Dogs are loyal, brave, resilient and often far more decent than the humans being compared to them. If anything, calling someone a dog should be a huge fricking compliment.

The more you think about it, the more absurd the insult becomes.

Found a century-old Jodhpuri takka in my grandma's box.

Based on my rough analysis, it was probably issued under Maharaja Sardar Singh in 1901-1910.

Being invited to interviews but not having the required communication/soft skills is an entirely different hell to be in. Introverts will get it.

Call it a language barrier, anxiety, being introverted or just being less experienced with socialization in general. I just struggle with talking to people over video calls, whether it be work related or not. Theoretically, I could take a benzo to get through this interviewing phase but it only makes sense if the job is fully async afterward, which is unlikely for most jobs. It feels inauthentic and I much prefer an understanding employer who can make accommodations for this. I know most Indian companies won't but I've had several clients in the past whom I never spoke to verbally yet still maintained a good relationship with for years and completed all sorts of projects together.

Building social skills and gaining confidence in communication is much harder than being technically proficient.

Just venting. Only God knows how many opportunities I willingly passed up because I had to do a lot of face-to-face interviews or meetings for a potential job.

I know some of you will relate to this.

[For Hire] Full-stack developer with 6 years of professional experience at $600/month

Portfolio/resume: https://bharatbots.github.io/portfolio/

Hey, I'm a full-stack developer from India. I started programming in 2017 and have been doing it professionally since 2020 as a freelancer. I've worked with several U.S. clients and built real products end to end from often vague requirements. One of my projects earlier this year was worth around $20k.

My usual stack includes Python, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs.

I'm offering 10 hours per week for a fixed $600/month. I work async but I'm reachable during the same four-hour window every weekday and reasonable revisions within scope are always included.

This is a temporary rate while I prepare for conventional software interviews. It isn't a reflection of my experience or the quality of my work.

If you're a solo founder or small team that needs someone dependable to build, improve or maintain a product, send me a DM. I can share my portfolio, previous work and references if needed.

Did anyone here buy their Trek bike online?

I'm trying to buy a Trek Domane AL 5 but none of the dealers I've contacted can ship to my location because it's a rural area.

Unfortunately traveling to a city to buy the bike isn't an option for me. The nearest city that reliably stocks Trek bikes is probably Delhi.

Does anyone know of a Trek dealer that ships anywhere in India or have a contact who might be able to help?

So far I've tried:

6 months Kylaq review

Hi, I'll keep this review short. I don't have experience with any other car so this review could be biased.

I bought Signature Plus AT in Dec 2025 and learned to drive with it.

6000 km in and i'm pretty satisfied with the purchase. Handling is so smooth. The engine is powerful enough and despite having a 3cyl turbo engine, it's not too noisy. It's very easy to cross 100kmph unintentionally if you're a new driver. Absolute beginners need to proceed with caution when driving this 'small rocket.' The brakes are powerful enough but not even a 5-star rated car can save you when you're being reckless. I need to use my own advice more because I impulsively touch 130kmph every now and then.

The car's Infotainment system and speakers are actually pretty decent. The AC is good enough. I live in the Thar desert's scorching heat and often park my car in direct sunlight and yet the AC doesn't take too long to cool the car.

A few things I don't like:
-Noise from doors. Not constant but I think i need those silicone tapes installed.
-Noise from the engine area when I start the car and reverse it. From what I read, it could be related to AC pipes. It doesn't last much but it's distracting and vibrates the dashboard overall.
-Overall fit and finish could be better. I understand there's a massive cost cutting with many components so some of it is expected. Not a huge turnoff as long as the overall structure of the car is uncompromised. I couldn't care less about bells and whistles.

I bought the car purely for utility so I haven't done any customization or installed any aftermarket addons. So far so good.

Thanks to Petra for offering help

A couple of years ago, I was completely broke and joined Upwork to make some money from my hobby. I couldn't even afford to buy Upwork connects, which put me in a really tough spot. I had no real life connections and no credit score to borrow even a small amount.

I came across a few projects on Upwork that seemed like a great fit for me. I'd been lurking on this subreddit for a while so I made a post asking for a small loan to buy 50 connects. (Back then you could bid on most projects for under 10 connects.)

People roasted me and even called me a scammer, but Petra reached out and offered to help. She actually Paypal'd me around $10-15 to buy connects. Unfortunately PayPal held the money for some reason so I ended up refunding her.

Later I managed to land a couple of small jobs through my many "2-connect" proposals, used the earnings to buy more connects and started leveling up my profile.

I earned Rising Talent, Top Rated and Top Rated Plus badges - all within 6-7 months. I made decent money but had to step away that same year due to mental health issues. Since then I've been working on and off with a few direct clients and honestly, things have been going pretty okay. It's not the same volume of work as my Upwork days but the relationships feel more genuine and the work is less stressful.

Anyway, I never forgot what Petra did. It was a small amount of money to most people but at the time it felt like a lifeline. She didn't know me, had no reason to trust me and still chose kindness. That kind of thing stays with you.

If you're reading this Petra, thank you. Genuinely. I hope life has been really good to you.

I tried pretty much all legal and illegal treatment options I could avail, including ketamine, MDMA, psilocybin etc.

Nothing works quite like a good NSAID. You can't take it regularly but oh man, this shit fucks. Its effects are subtle but it really pours life into my dead soul for a while.

Psychedelics and ketamine have similar or sometimes better transient effects but they don't seem surprising based on their MoA but NSAIDs lifting my depression is hella interesting.

Maybe it's neuroinflammation all the way down.

Did anyone have similar experiences with NSAIDs or other pain killers(excluding opiods)?
