He’s a year old 🥹

My baby boy is a year old today 😭 it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since I’ve had him.

He’s been on this schedule (picture above) since about 10 months

He still nurses but drinks breast milk out of a cup for meals

He’s fully walking now 🥹

Loves his “big” brother (big brother is turning 2 next month and they’re almost the same size 😅)

He was born at 7lbs and he’s now 29lbs

First word was mama but he says dada and ball

Knows the signs for milk, more, please, and eat

Names he’s been given: Samuel, Sam, Sammy, ham Sammy, Eugene (middle name), Sammy Gene

Just an emotional mom today over my baby turning 1 😭

Potty training

How did everyone potty train their toddler boy? My 21 month old started showing interest last month but I just had twins so the stress of figuring out a new daily routine pushed that back. We had finally got to a point where we were ready to potty train and he was still interested. We had a seat that you just placed on a regular toilet and had a stool in front. He was terrified of that. We bought a little potty and planned to use that this weekend but we suddenly had to go out of town. We’re back home this week and I’m definitely ready to start potty training him.

What’s best for potty training? Teaching him to stand to pee or teach using sitting then eventually standing? Do we just let him go around naked? We use cloth diapers so I don’t know if that would make a difference. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What animal to start with?

We moved into my husband’s old family home, we’ve been fully moved in and settled for a few months. We rent out a large portion of the land to farmers for crops but we have 45 acres of our own. We’ve both grown up on a farm with all kinds of animals but we’ve only had chickens in our adult life. Should we go with chickens or something else as our first animal?

3 am wake ups

My son, sleep trained at 5.5 months, is 11 months old now and has started waking up at 3 am since last Friday. We were on 3.5/3.5/3.5 since sleep training at 5.5 months until we started going by a schedule which was still around the same 3.5 area but a little before and a little after.

Wake up 6:15

Nap 1 9:30

Nap 2 2:20

Bed 7:00

Total sleep for the day was about 2.5 hours everyday

Last Thursday his naps started getting a little shorter (wouldn’t sleep an hour) but was still doing 11 hours at night. Friday both naps were about 45 minutes, that’s when the night wakes started.

First night- woke up at 3:30 am, I nursed him and he went back to sleep at 4

Second night- woke up at 4, went to his room to pat back to sleep but he kept sitting up so I nursed him, he still didn’t go right back to sleep, was awake for 45 minutes before going back to sleep

Third night- woke up at 3:20, nursed right away to see if he would go to sleep faster, went back to sleep at 4

Fourth night- woke up at 3:00, nursed him, changed his diaper, went back to sleep at 3:50

Fifth night- woke at 3:10, husband went in to soothe but screaming got worse which never happens, I end up nursing him at 3:30, back to sleep at 3:45

Sixth night- woke at 3:10, tried letting him settle on his own but went in after 20 minutes of screaming, nursed him, went back to sleep at 4

Last night- woke up at 3, just went in and sat beside him rubbing his back and patting him while he cried (not screaming though), didn’t nurse him, went back to sleep at 3:45

What do I do with this? Schedule change? Drop to one nap? His nap total average was 2.5 hours and now it’s 1.5 hours, night total average is now 10 hours when it was 11 hours.

I am a mom of 4 under 2 AMA

Since my parents and in laws are here, they are spending time with the kids so I have some time. Me and my husband have been together since middle school. Got married when we were almost 23, we’re now almost 26 with 4 kids. Our first son is 21 months, our second son is 10 (almost 11) months, and the twins are just a month old.

Not sure if this is interesting enough to ask questions lol but we’ll give it a go!

How my day goes with 4 under 2

I posted a week or two ago about having four under two and got questions on how I do it (I get this a ton when I go out in public lol) and I already track the twins day so I figured I could do the whole day, I’ve honestly been interested in how my day looks written down lol but, I was only able to do this because this was one of our best days so I felt like i could get it done. It’s also not precise time for convenience.

5:45 am I wake up , my husband already has the coffee made, he leaves at 5:30. I drink some coffee while doing a quick 10 minute pump (my 10 month old drinks breastmilk from a cup so I pump just enough for him to have 3 cups of breastmilk a day)

6:10 am 10 month old woke up, I nursed him and changed his diaper

6:20 am twin 1 wakes up, change diaper, start nursing at 6:25

6:40 am twin 2 wakes up, change diaper, start nursing at 6:45

6:45 am 20 month old wakes up, he gets out of bed on his own but needs help with the door so I open the door for him and he goes to the kitchen asking for water, give him a cup of water (yes, I’m still feeding a baby)

7:00 am change 20 month old’s diaper, change twin 1’s diaper

7:10 am 10 and 20 month old are playing while I start breakfast

7:15 am settle twin 2 with a paci

7:20 am settle twin 1 with a paci

7:30 am start wearing twin 1, breakfast time for 10 month old, 20 month old, and me

7:40 am twin 2 falls asleep in bassinet

7:45 am clean up from breakfast, 20 month old uses his learning tower and helps me clean dishes (he rinses the soap off the dishes, life skills and water play all in one)

7:55 am nurse twin 1 while playing on the floor with 10 month old, 20 month old played with cars beside us

8:10 am twin 1 went to sleep, put him in the bassinet, change 10 and 20 month old’s diaper

8:15 am take 20 month old and 10 month old out to feed the birds (I keep the baby monitor with me and can see both babies, I also live in the country with barely any traffic coming down our road)

8:25 am take them inside, we all wash our hands, I change them into their clothes

8:35 am nurse 10 month old

8:50 am twin 2 wakes up, change his diaper and clothes

9:10 am 20 month old and 10 month old get a small snack, I nurse twin 2

9:30 am twin 1 wakes up, change his diaper and get him dressed, change 10 month old

9:40 am put 10 month old to bed (he falls asleep within 5 minutes on his own) started nursing twin 1 while playing with 20 month old

9:45 am I wear twin 1, make myself a snack

9:55 twin 2 falls asleep in the swing, I finish my snack, get twin 2 out of the swing to swaddle and place in bassinet

10:05 am put twin 1 in a bouncer, change 20 month old’s diaper

10:10 am start cloth diaper laundry, take regular laundry out of dryer and put in my bedroom

10:25 am 20 month old plays in his room, I bring twin 1 in the bouncer into the bathroom so I can shower

10:40 am I’m dressed and ready for the day

10:45 am twin 1 fell asleep in the bouncer so I swaddled him and put him in his bassinet, 10 month old woke up, I grab him and 20 month old and take them to the living room while I start lunch

11:00 am 10 month old gets fussy so I wear him while fixing lunch

11:05 am 20 month old wants to help in the kitchen so he washes veggies

11:15 am 10 month old, 20 month old, and I have lunch

11:30 am twin 2 wakes up, I baby wear him while I finish my lunch

11:35 am I clean up 20 month old and 10 month old and clean up the table and highchair

11:45 am change twin 2, 10 month old, and 20 month old

11:55 am nurse 10 month old and twin 2 while reading a book to 20 month old

12:05 pm put 20 month old in his room for a nap (falls asleep within 10 minutes), twin 1 wakes up and I change him

12:10 pm put twins in a stroller and wear 10 month old, take them and take the cloth diapers out of the washer to hang outside

12:20 pm sit on the porch while 10 month old plays, nurse twin 1

12:30 pm twin 2 falls asleep in the stroller

12:45 pm go back inside, place twin 2 in bassinet

12:50 pm I eat again while playing on the floor with 10 month old

1:15 pm change twin 1s diaper and nurse him

1:30 pm twin 1 falls asleep he’s swaddled and placed in bassinet

1:50 pm nurse 10 month old then cuddle on the couch while looking at pictures of animals

2:10 pm 20 month old wakes up, change his and 10 month olds diaper

2:15 pm put 10 month old down for a nap, twin 2 wakes up I change his diaper

2:25 pm 20 month old gets a snack, I clean up the kitchen while baby wearing twin 2

2:35 pm change twin 2s diaper and outfit (blowout)

2:40 pm nurse twin 2, 20 month old colors

2:55 pm take twin 2 and 20 month old outside. I put twin 2 on a thick blanket on the porch, 20 month old plays with his bubble machine

3:00 pm twin 1 wakes up, he’s right inside the door so I grab him and snuggle him for a few minutes before laying him next to twin 2

3:20 pm twin 2 falls asleep, 20 month old and i are playing with chalk

3:35 pm 10 month old wakes up so I take the kids inside, twin 2 woke up so I put him in the swing, twin 1 in the bassinet, 20 month old followed me to get 10 month old so we could go to the bathroom to wash his hands and mine, after washing up I take both kids back to the living room

3:45 pm nurse 10 month old and twin 1

4:00 pm change diapers for all 4

4:10 pm put twin 1 in the swing, twin 2 in the bouncer, 10 month old and 20 month old play in the living room then I start dinner

4:20 pm twin 2 starts to get unsettled so I give him his paci but won’t take it I end up baby wearing him at 4:25

4:40 pm twin 1 gets fussy, I put him in the bouncer and bounce him with my foot while continuing to cook

4:50 pm 20 month old wants to play in water so I fill the sink up and let him play in the water

5:00 pm twin 1 falls asleep in the bouncer, 10 month old is now in the kitchen and always right under my feet lol

5:10 pm 20 month old gets bored so he starts dumping water on the floor and making a mess so I get him down and dry him off before sending him back to the living room

5:15 pm twin 2 is screaming so I take the baby wrap off and nurse him

5:25 pm twin 2 falls asleep nursing so I place him in his bassinet and start fixing plates for the kids so it’s cooled by the time we eat

5:30 pm my husband comes home and plays with 10 and 20 month old

5:40 pm we eat dinner, twin 1 wakes up so husband holds him while we eat

5:55 pm I take 20 and 10 month old upstairs to start baths, husband cleans up from dinner, starts a load of laundry then grabs new pjs and diapers for everyone then brings the twins upstairs

6:00 pm 20 month old starts his bath, twin 2 wakes up, husband stays in our room with twins and 10 month old

6:15 pm I get 20 month old out of bath and take him to my husband to lotion and put pjs on. I take my 10 month old to give him a bath

6:25 pm take 10 month old out to start getting his lotion and pjs on, husband holds twin 2 as he goes back to sleep and plays with 20 month old

6:35 pm nurse twin 1 and 10 month old in my bed, husband places twin 2 in his bassinet

6:50 pm me and husband take 10 month old 20 month old and twin 1 into 10 month olds room, we get his sleep sack on and read a book

6:55 pm turn the sound machine on, dim the lights, read another book, gets hugs and kisses from both me and my husband

7:00 pm we turn the lights off completely give him one last kiss and put him in bed then head to 20 month olds room

7:05 pm put 20 month old in his sleep sack, dim the lights, read a book, let him pick his favorite blanket, give him kisses and hugs and put him to bed

7:15 pm twin 1 is asleep so we put him in his bassinet in our room

7:20 pm I go out and grab the diapers off the clothesline and take them upstairs with the laundry from this morning. We sit on the bed watching a show while we fold laundry and talk about our day

7:45 pm laundry is done, I take folded laundry back downstairs in the basket, put the laundry from the washer in the dryer, we do a house reset together

8:00 pm twin 2 wakes up, husband finishes up dishes, I nurse twin 2

8:10 pm twin 1 wakes up while I’m still nursing twin 2, husband comes upstairs to grab him since he’s done

8:15 pm husband takes twin 2 while I take twin 1 to nurse him

8:35 pm we cuddle and love on them until this point then start a bath for them

8:45 pm we each take a baby and lotion them up putting new pjs on, we dim the light

8:55 pm I nurse both of them for a few minutes to top them off, burp them, then we swaddle them

9:10 pm twin 2 falls asleep

9:20 pm twin 1 falls asleep

9:30-10 pm we make sure the house is reset, we get some things ready for the next day

10-11 pm me and husband can do whatever, tonight we watched a show while cuddling on the couch then went to bed at 11 even though the babies would be up soon

Twin 1 woke up at 12:15 am, 3:30 am, and 5:30 am (which is really good for twin 1!)

Twin 2 woke up at 12:20 am, 3:40 am, and 6:30 am (this is typical for twin 2 right now, twin 2 is the better sleeper lol)

Almost 21 month old’s seems interested in the potty

My son is 5 days shy of 21 months old, he seems very interested in using the potty. He wants to go when he sees me or his dad in the bathroom but he gets scared as soon as we sit him on the potty. We have a small one, we just have to get it out of storage. My question is, how do you potty train a 21 month old while also having a 10 month old and less than a month old twins?

I’m home full time so I’m willing to do anything that will work (it will be nice not having 4 in diapers!!), we use cloth diapers if that makes any difference

Just want to share a win!

I have 4 under 2 (I know, crazy), I have a 20 month old son, 10 month old son, and 2 week old twins.

The twins had a doctors appointment and I got myself and all 4 kids dressed (the twins twice because of blowouts), in the car, and to the appointment on time, all by myself lol

Did I mention the appointment was at 8:15 in the morning 😅 why would they ever give a mom of 4 under 2 such an early appointment? 😭 I did it though!

The first week of twins ❤️❤️

Just want to remember these newborn days because I know I’ll miss them. This first week has flown by (but maybe that’s because all the days are running together 😂)

u/M0mma0fMany — 2 months ago

Yesterday morning at 37+3 I started having contractions but they weren’t close together, about 15-20 minutes apart, I was still able to do things around the house.

Around 1:30pm the contractions started getting more intense and closer together, about 8-10 minutes apart. I kept a close eye on them and they stayed about the same for a few hours but around 4:00 they were about 5-6 minutes apart so we decided to go to the hospital.

We got checked into the hospital and finally in my room at 5:00. I immediately got on the yoga ball and about 3 bounces in my water breaks 😂

I had my first two without any pain medication so I wanted to try it with the twins and at the time of my water breaking this was my easiest birthing experience so far!

We decided not to find out the genders until they were born so it was fun being apart of the nurses game on what they would be, most said two girls as that’s what they’ve had most recently.

At 9:01pm baby A was born, a boy! He was 6lbs 10oz

Since 30 weeks both of them have been head down but since baby A came out baby B decided to flip and start poking their feet out right after i delivered baby A’s placenta. Ob and midwife had both been apart of many deliveries with feet first and were comfortable continuing that way. That birth was 10X more painful than the first!

Baby B was born feet first at 9:33pm, another boy! He was 6lbs 15oz

They are healthy, latching pretty well, eating a lot, and we’re going home tomorrow morning!

Just watched the scene where Mer is pregnant and feeling kicks and she thinks something is wrong. They were in a little competition and Mer thought something was wrong so she ran out of the room and Bailey didn’t hesitate to stop her competition so she could make sure Mer was okay.

I’m also pregnant right now so when Bailey puts her hand on Mer’s stomach and says “sweetie this is not a bad thing….your baby’s kicking” I sob 😭
