[Online][5e][2014/2024 mix][18+][CE(S)T/GMT+2] DM running his first campaign, looking for 5 players

Hi all. I'm a long-time player with lots of experience in 5e. I have run a few one-shots before, but never a campaign. This will be set in a homebrew high-fantasy setting. I will be stealing getting inspiration from modules but rework it to be my own thing.

The first few sessions will be a little bit on-rails to get the story rolling, but after that it will become a sandbox. Starting on the continent of Alandria in the city-state of Andraxes, the players are ready to visit a 5-day long festival.

As mentioned, I will be running a mix of 2014 and 2024. But assume it will be using 2014 rules unless mentioned otherwise.

We will be using roll20 and Discord voice chat.

New players are welcome, but I'm hoping to get at least one experienced player.

Which day we play will be figured out together, but starting time will typically be 19:00-20:00.

If you're interested, message me with how much experience you have, what you are looking for out of a campaign, and your character idea(s) if you have any.

Edit : Party is filled up.

[Online][5e 2014][Open to 2024 but I don't like some of the rule changes][CEST][can do any weekday] Experienced player looking for a new group

I have years of experience with 5e, as well as roll20. My previous group stopped playing when my DM had too much going on irl to continue. I enjoy all aspects of the game, but I probably enjoy combat more than others, as it's the most structured and rule-defined.

I prefer high-fantasy settings, games where survival (having enough resources like food etc) isn't a huge part, and most of all cooperative groups where all the PC's share a common goal with minimum friction. Of course there can always be inter-PC conflicts, as long as they get resolved sooner rather than later.

I have multiple character ideas already, I just hope to find the right setting for at least one of them.

Please shoot me a message.

[Jurassic Park] How do the carnivores (primarily T-rexes but also velociraptors) get enough food on such a small island?

They need about 140-200kg of meat per day. Isla Sorna isn't even 200m²/450km². Isla Nublar is way smaller than that. Those sizes can only sustain so many herbivores. Prey animals can also only reproduce at that high a rate. How do the carnivores have anywhere close to enough animals to prey upon? When humans were still in control of the islands, that's one thing, they can just import meat. But once the islands got abandoned and the animals left to fend for themselves?

[DC] How do many people in Wayne industries not realize Batman has access to their tech?

Let's take the Nolan trilogy as an example. Only "mr. Reese" called this out? The tumbler was designed and manufactured by Wayne industries. This would absolutely involve multiple people in R&D and production. Engineers, factory workers, etc. The batwing and the crawler in the Snyderverse, same thing. And in many other interpretations of the character. There is no way Bruce Wayne single-handedly makes any of these things.

You can't use NDA's as an explanation as those do not apply to illegal activities. And Batman is a vigilante after all.

Moving from windows 11 to TrueNAS for my DIY NAS

I'm tired of dealing with window's crap for my NAS. The issue is that I have over 6TB of stuff on my hard drives, which are NTFS in RAID 1. I do not have the capacity to back that up to 1 or more external drives. Is there any way for me to convert without losing all my data?

[MCU] How did most infinity stones end up in 2 neighboring galaxies?

The observable universe is 93 billion light years across. The infinity stones came into existence at the big bang and were "hurdled across the virgin universe." Yet other than the soul stone, located on Vormir, whose location is unconfirmed, and the space stone having spent time on Asgard, all of them were inside the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, neighboring each other by <3 million light years. Seems pretty improbable.

Thank you AMD!

My 7800X3D was dying. I was getting hard PC crashes. Tested my CPU under heavyload with 3 different coolers. ~2.4Ghz (so crazy thermal throttling) at 91-100°C. I made a warranty request even though I was almost 2 months out of the warranty period. They declined at first, but after providing some more context and politely asking for an exception, they accepted after all!

I sent my 7800X3D out last Thursday. This morning, I received my replacement. And even better, they sent me a 9800X3D! So I get a free upgrade out of it as well.

This is how you do customer service.

Tanks are too OP now, defending on breakthrough is nigh impossible

They buffed the health, they buffed health regen, while also nerfing several anti-tank weapons like mines and RPG's. My skills haven't gotten worse in just a few days, yet my ability to destroy tanks has gone down the drain. This on conquest is one thing, but breakthrough... More than one tank and only one capture point means it's borderline impossible to defend now. While it wasn't perfect before, it certainly was way better.

[DC] Does the Flash always perceive things in slow-motion when he's moving at superspeed, or is it an ability he can use at will?

Being able to move massive distances in a very short amount of time is hella convenient. But if he always experiences time at a slower pace when he's running at superspeed, it wouldn't be so great for him. Because then it would easily seem like he's running for several hours to go to a city a few states over, maybe even days if he's running to say Italy to get some pizza. That seems like he'd lose his mind out of boredom from the constant running he does.
