My sister and I decided to step in and take full responsibility for these little souls. Sadly, their mothers both passed away in a tragic car accident, leaving them vulnerable. We have made the decision to take them in and provide them with all the care, love, and protection they need.

For a long period, we have been following a strict care and feeding protocol, ensuring they get the attention they deserve. It is a tough time, but seeing them thrive makes every moment of effort and worry worth it. Never give up on them; with care and patience, they can heal and grow.

We are doing this work entirely by ourselves, but the medical and care costs are challenging. We still haven't collected enough funds to cover their needs and any potential vet bills. So far, we have only raised $170 out of our $650 goal.

I wanted to share a glimpse into the reality of the work we are doing in Laayoune. Many people see street cats and overlook the silent suffering they endure daily.

Right now, we are facing a very difficult situation. We have rescued several cats that are suffering from severe illnesses and heavy tick infestations. It is heartbreaking to see them so weak, with parasites feeding on them, struggling just to breathe and survive.

The process of treating them is exhausting—not just physically, but emotionally. We are working closely with local vets to provide care, but the sheer volume of cases that need urgent intervention is overwhelming.

This post isn't for anything other than to highlight that these animals deserve a chance. If you are an animal lover, just know that your awareness of these issues in different parts of the world makes a difference. If anyone has experience or tips on managing large-scale tick infestations in stray colonies in arid climates, I would love to hear your insights in the comments.

I found this stray kitten in Laâyoune, and it is in very bad shape. It is having severe trouble breathing, its eyes are crusted over, and it seems to have an ear infection.

I have cleaned the discharge and provided basic care and medication. I am currently monitoring the kitten closely and administering the necessary medication regularly until it fully recovers.

I wanted to share with you the story of this cat. He had just recovered from Calicivirus and was so happy to be out of the shelter. Tragically, as soon as he got out, he started running, and sadly, he was hit by a car. His condition is critical; he has internal bleeding, and his organs have pushed into his diaphragm. He cannot eat or drink, his breathing is very difficult, and he desperately needs emergency surgery. I am not asking for anything but your prayers for his speedy recovery. My heart is breaking for him

I wanted to share some positive news about Mogatil (Fighter). Thankfully, his condition is steadily improving, and he is currently receiving the necessary care under the supervision of the veterinarian in Laayoune, southern Morocco.

Mogatil (Fighter) is doing much better than before. He is recovering, as he has started to stand and move on his own, regained his appetite, and is now eating, drinking, and defecating independently.

Despite this noticeable improvement, Mogatil (Fighter) still urgently requires a surgical procedure to be performed by a specialist veterinarian, as the advanced equipment needed for such delicate cases is not available in our city, Laayoune. We are in the process of coordinating his referral to a specialized clinic to ensure he receives the best possible care so he can return to full health, God willing.

We are currently pursuing a conservative treatment plan involving medication and calcium supplements, hoping for natural bone healing over the next 20 days.

Key Challenges:

Mobility: While he has a good appetite, he remains completely unable to stand or walk due to the severity of the fractures.

Pressure Sores: Due to being bedridden, he has developed painful pressure sores. We are cleaning these wounds daily under veterinary supervision.

Incontinence: He currently has no control over his bowel movements. While he initially suffered from diarrhea, his stool has recently become more formed. This requires constant cleaning and meticulous care.

Has anyone here dealt with similar complex pelvic fractures in cats? Is there a realistic chance of recovery through conservative treatment alone?

​We just took in this fragile little kitten from the streets, and she is in really rough shape. She is facing multiple health issues all at once, and we are doing our absolute best to start her treatment immediately.

​Here is what we are dealing with:

​Severe Tail Injury & Limping: Her tail is completely raw, wounded, and missing fur. She is also limping on one of her hind legs. We are worried the injury might be from a car accident or an attack, which could mean nerve damage or a fractured pelvis.

​Ear Mange & Infection: Her ears are heavily crusted and filled with wax/mange inside, which is causing her a lot of discomfort.

​What we are doing right now:

We have started cleaning her wounds gently with a safe antiseptic solution and are cleaning her ears carefully. We are also preparing to get her the specific ointments and medications she needs, including an upcoming vet assessment to see if her tail will require amputation to prevent gangrene, and to get X-rays for her leg.

​She is isolated in a warm, clean space right now. Despite the pain, she is being such a brave little fighter.

​Has anyone dealt with a combined tail/leg injury like this in a kitten this small? Any advice on handling severe ear mange during wound recovery would be highly appreciated.

Today, I witnessed a deeply moving moment of pure motherly love. I found a poor kitten on the street, injured from a car accident, and wanted to take it to rescue and care for it. However, its mother refused to leave its side. Every time I tried to get close to help, she would rush over, gently pick up her baby, and carry it away to hide safely under a car. It is truly amazing to see how much mercy, bravery, and protective instinct exist in a mother’s heart. Motherhood is a universal language that doesn't change, whether for humans or animals.

So far, we have raised $47 out of the $350 needed for the injured kitten's medical treatment.

Today, my heart is completely shattered. My favorite street cat, the brave soul who chose my doorstep as his home and was always there to comfort me when I was down, was hit by a speeding car and passed away.

I had to bury him today with my own hands, my eyes full of tears and my heart heavy with grief. Holding his gentle body for the last time broke something inside me, but it also ignited a fierce determination.

I am sharing his pictures here to honor his memory. He wasn't just a stray; he was my best friend.

My sister and I have been doing our best to rescue and care for as many as we can as independent rescuers. It has always been my dream to establish a professional sanctuary called "Angel's Touch" right here in our region. I want to implement the same high standards of animal welfare seen in Europe and the US, providing these cats with a life free from pain and fear.

I truly believe that every life matters and that with patience and healing, even the weakest kitten can thrive. I won't give up on this dream until every street cat in Laayoune has a safe place to call home.

I wanted to share a progress update on this little warrior battling Feline Calicivirus. It’s been a tough fight, but my sister and I are dedicated to his recovery, treating him 3 times a day (morning, evening, and night). As you can see, he is doing much better now!

Caring for him is part of a bigger dream: I hope to one day establish a formal animal shelter here in Laayoune. Currently, we do our best as independent rescuers, but a dedicated sanctuary is what these street cats truly need.

He still has some healing to do, but he’s getting stronger every day. Once he is 100% recovered, I will post a final update to show you his full transformation.
