Is a 30-hour work week more likely to happen under socialism than capitalism? Why or why not?

I could've said "three-day weekend" in place of "30-hour work week", and the spirit of the question would've been the same.

(The question assumes that most people work more than 30 hours per week.)

Employee got fired for reporting his boss to HR. She repeatedly called him "autistic" as an insult. He's requesting donations.

DISCLAIMER: This person, unfortunately, has promised to donate any extra cash to the Autism Society of America, which has a sketchy history. Be aware of that before you donate. I've posted a comment on his YouTube channel to redirect him to ASAN and the Foundations for Neurodivergent Minds.

If minors ever gain the right to vote, it would probably happen slowly and illogically

I don't think most people right now would vote for universal minors' suffrage. As society becomes more progressive, 16-year-olds might get the right to vote. Eventually, 13-year-olds may get that right too. Then, 10-year-olds. Then, 7-year-olds. Then, all minors. In all cases, I think the youngest voters would be the ones fighting for those slightly younger than them.

There's nothing magical about the ages of 16, 13, 10, and 7. They have cultural significance, and that's it. We have the concept of a "sweet 16" here in the US. 13 is the first "teen" age. 10 is the first two-digit integer. 7 is considered a lucky number.

If trying to log into Twitter / X gives you a "Something went wrong" error, add an exception to HTTPS-Only Mode and DNS over HTTPS.

Open Firefox --> Settings --> Privacy and security --> Scroll down to HTTPS-Only Mode --> Manage Exceptions --> Add x.com

Now, go back to the previous screen (Privacy and security).

Scroll down to DNS over HTTPS --> Manage Exceptions --> Add x.com.

Yes, it's insane that we have to do this. Fuck Elon Musk.

For those of you who practice MMA, lift weights, and do cardio in the same week, what does your training schedule look like?

Do you have three days of MMA and cardio plus three days of weightlifting? Do you have two days of each? Or do you do something else?

What would've happened if Milli Vanilli refused to return their Grammy Awards after being pressured to do so by the Recording Academy?

LOCATION: not applicable. This post concerns the Grammy Awards, which take place in multiple US locations. It would not be appropriate to name one specific state.

For those of you who don't know about Milli Vanilli, here's a nice introductory article. To learn more about the Grammy Awards, click here.

I wanna quote from the first article I cited:

> The R&B duo, led by Fabrice Morvan and Rob Pilatus, rose to stardom after releasing their debut album Girl You Know It's True in March 1989. However, later that year, they were caught lip-syncing at a live concert, and in November 1990, their record producer, Frank Farian, revealed that Morvan and Pilatus weren't the ones singing on their album. As a result, the two were forced to return their Best New Artist Grammy Awards, making them the first artists to ever have to do so.

Hypothetically, let's say Milli Vanilli said "fuck you" to the Recording Academy and downright refused to return their Grammy Awards. What would've happened?

A debate about the movie "Obsession" (2026) and an example of anti-male prejudice. (All usernames and avatars censored except mine.)

Me and another guy had a debate with a male misandrist about Obsession (2026). While his initial comment doesn't prove his misandry beyond all reasonable doubt, his other replies do. Dude just refuses to admit that other dudes are annoyed because people don't get why they sympathize with Bear.

Color-coded for your convenience.
RED bar = male misandrist
BLUE bar = male defender
SHOWN username = me

How should a socialist state minimize abusive managers / bosses?

A. Pass laws stating what workers can and cannot be fired for

And set criminal penalties for violating these laws.

B. Create a legal process for workers to fire their managers

For example, if workers hate their boss, they can start a Motion of No Confidence to remove that boss from power.

C. Mandate workplace trials before firing anyone

For example, if Alice (a manager) wants to fire Bob (a worker), she can't just do it. She has to set up a trial for Bob with his fellow workers as the jury. Then, Bob's coworkers vote whether or not to fire him.

D. All of the above

E. Other

Please specify.

Adult supporters, if you live in California, please do *not* vote for Anthony Rendon to become the next Superintendent of Public Instruction.

One of his policy goals is to "Limit Screentime and AI in the Classroom". If enacted, this would limit the ability of students to use phones in class. This is a problem for the following reasons:

  1. Smartphones can be used to record abuse and bullying. A video recording plus witnesses are stronger than witnesses alone. This is especially true for lawsuits against a school.

  2. Since the US has compulsory (that is, forced) education for minors, it wouldn't be fair to take away their source of entertainment in a classroom. They're not in class because they choose to be; they're in class because they're forced to be.
