I found the original case I bought PL vs. PW in while packing for a move and had to laugh at the price I bought this at. If I remember correctly I bought this in 2015 or 2016. I do still have the cartridge, but I moved it to a blank 3DS case and DIY’d a case because finding an official case would be near impossible for me.
I’m currently working on filling up my box with Magikarp eggs to eventually soft reset for Type: Null. Something that crossed my mind is that Poke Pelago has the spa island that can wear down egg cycles.
Is it possible to hatch an egg entirely from Poke Pelago? In other words, you can hatch it without taking it out of the box? Or does Pelago only “cook” it down to 1 step?

So I’m looking into hacking my 3DS mainly to make backups of my game files (not just save files). I have a few questions and concerns. For reference I am planning on doing this on my spare New 3DS that the down direction of the D-Pad doesn’t work. I have never attempted to hack any console before and I feel like one wrong move and I brick my console, especially when I get to the more technical screens that I don’t understand.
1: Is it possible to hack a New 3DS that has been factory reset or do I need to put a Nintendo ID on it? What would I need to do to get it ready?
2: Will the fact that the down direction of the system doesn’t work impact my ability to hack it or install other programs I may need?
3: I’ve tried reading through the 3DS hacks guide but it feels like I don’t have the technical know how to understand it. Are there any good video guides or should I have my dad (he works in IT) sit with me to make sure I’m doing everything right?
4: How would I dump cartridge games so they’re playable off an SD card? Is there a guide for that?
5: I’ve heard of the program PKSM, how complicated is that to install?

So I was browsing Reddit and came across a picture of Lumagrowl. I immediately went to see if he had a figure because I have always loved wolves! Thing is, I only have Bakugan Battle Brawlers-era (no idea what Gen that is) cards. Do the newer figures, like Lumagrowl, still unfurl using a magnet connection like the old ones?
For the record, I’m not planning on playing the game, I just love the look of the figure and would display him on a card!
Decided to set a goal to beat the original Crash Bandicoot 1 on my PS2. I have a few questions for those that know the original, not N-Sane Trilogy Crash Bandicoot 1.
1: Are the physics a little slippery if you are used to the PS1 Crash 2 and 3’s physics?
2: Do Tawna Bonus Rounds not respawn if you die in the Bonus Round? I had died in The Rolling Stones BR then progressed past it, then noticed on a replay of that level I didn’t get the option to go to the Bonus Round.
3: Do Brio Bonus Rounds not count for 100%?
4: I assume you can’t re-get a gem to save your progress.
I was wondering, why is there not a “Battle Factory Buddy” equivalent or similar program for the Gen 4 games? At the very least a tool like that would help condense all of the sets that Bulbapedia lists into something like a drop-down menu would be helpful.
My goal with playing Soul Silver was to get the three legendary birds so I could eventually transfer them over to XY/ORAS. While I could catch the birds by restarting an XY over and over, I didn’t want to do three playthroughs of one of my least favorite games in the series. Regardless, I specifically got all three birds in Apricorn balls simply because it would make their catches more unique. My Golem and Snorlax were the keys to catching them! Double-Edge with Rock Head Golem was good at getting chunks of health while Rock Smash was a great additional chip tool.
Anyway, the birds will be kept in Soul Silver for the foreseeable future since Poké Transporter doesn’t have an end of service date. Maybe I could use my main team to finally clear Pokemon Battle Revolution. At least with that I could extend the amount of time I’m playing Soul Silver!
I even got through most of the Elite Four without using items in battle! The only time I used an item was a Max Revive on my Metagross. I justified it by saying that I was TIRED of grinding off of rematching trainers.
That Metagross, despite being a Calm nature, was clutch in multiple fights! It did lead to an annoying 5 minute battle with Koga’s Muk though. My Snorlax did manage to get off a Selfdestruct after living on 7 HP on Lance.
Finished work on my second of four custom bases for my 3D-printed Skylanders, this one is Spotlight’s! Originally there would have been more gold, but after painting the outline I decided that I liked it better that way. The base also has a NFC coin so it can work with the games.
The circular part of the base is 3D-printed while the “sun spikes” are air-dry clay.
I’m going through Soul Silver and of course I had to bring out my two Lugia plushies to help catch my third Soul Silver-originated Lugia.
(My old Lugia has a little cape that’s why he has some red yarn)
I’ve been watching a couple of different highlight videos on Platinum Kaizo and it’s been interesting to learn things about the Generation 4 AI. Recently, my latest game has been replaying base Pokemon SoulSilver. I was in the fight with Pryce, specifically against his Seel who has the moves Hail, Icy Wind, Rest, and Snore. To be clear, I didn’t know the movesets ahead of time. When I noticed that it not only used Rest, but was using Snore as well, I thought of what I learned from watching Platinum Kaizo runs. While it didn’t matter that the Seel was using Snore, I still wondered if the AI knew about Rest’s sleep turns. Since my Snorlax, obtained as a Munchlax from the PokeWalker, could not KO the Seel before it woke up I got to see if my prediction was correct. The Seel woke up and failed to use Snore, just like I’ve seen a bunch of times regarding Sleep Talk in Platinum Kaizo!
I wanted to share this because even if this didn’t come from a Nuzlocke of my own, I’m glad that I had the knowledge to understand why the Seel went for Snore on the wake up turn. Plus it goes to show that even watching the runs can be insightful to even a casual player.
Since I’ve noticed my problem more with IG I figured I would repost this here.
This is me speculating btw.
So I’ve always loved the way “Spyro: A Hero’s Tail” was structured ever since I was a kid. While the game definitely has its problems, one thing I loved was how connected the levels were. Rather than each level being separated by a portal, the different zones were connected by areas that were long enough to not feel like a loading zone. For example, after you cross the bridge in Dragon Village to go to Crocovile Swamp, you have to board a slow moving platform to take you to the Swamp.
For A Realm Beyond, I’m wondering if the “Hero’s Tail structure” will come back or if we’ll get the classic portal entrances.
With the 10 Star quests giving really good rewards, what are good qualities for an Investigation other than a temporary gathering boost (and trade increase) or ensuring a rare material like a gem? To me it’s probably worth saving double or pack hunts. Though maybe saving a hunt for a tiny crown is worth it if you are going for it?
After initially finishing the paint job of all four of my 3D-printed Skylanders, I’ve really wanted to make them functional with the games. I already had the NFC in the form of coins, so with some more printing I was able to get a base that had magnets inserted during the printing process. That, combined with a small disk with the counterpart magnets which was glued on the base of the figure, meant the connection would be stable.
As for extras in the design, I decided to take inspiration from the setting in one of the beginning scenes of FFVII: Advent Children. The rocky edges were pretty fun to sculpt out of air-dry clay! I also included a “mako crystal” in the back as well as claw marks that are supposed to be from this Blackout. Unfortunately in the process of sculpting I forgot about the height difference the counterpart magnet disk would give to the figure. Meaning it doesn’t look as good as I hoped.
Did this with long sword! Honestly the hardest part is when you are transitioning from one monster to the next. Though if I had to choose which one is the hardest, the hardest is Uth Duna. At least with Arkveld a lot of the attacks don’t have lingering hitboxes/are easy to read on when I should counter. Still got down to my last cart even with Insurance.
Title says it all, but basically is it optimal to stick with the equipment you plan on using for Arkveld the whole quest or Farcaster to swap from the equipment used for Rey Dau all the way to Nu Udra once Arkveld hits the field?
I’m having trouble deciding if I run a set that is effectively my AT Arkveld equipment but with a water weapon since Nu Udra’s fire/oil can’t be put out with a Dragon element weapon.
I just found this Reddit and love that other people have emotional support plushies! Had to share mine even if they aren’t animals. To those not in the know they are Sephiroth (left, I call him Tiny Seph) and Cloud (right, I call him Tiny Cloud). They always sit in my bag except for when I need their support. I made them little sashes that say therapy because I was self-conscious about how it would look for an adult to have plushies out.
