So I’ve been hearing metal for a while mainly Metallica and Megadeth. And I mainly focused on Metallica. I love songs with a cool vibe and the element of making me feel what the song wants to convey. I love Metallica but I’m so done with listening to the same songs over and over again. I want to branch out and discover other bands and songs. Should I learn things like chords, music theory, etc.. My goal is to make my own thrash / heavy metal riffs and licks, make them hooky so it can be rememberable but I can’t for some reason. So far I’ve only learnt the songs I like, and been learning for 7 months now, what else should I learn?

I am a 17M guitarist living in Moscow looking for a band (specifically a lead guitarist, vocalist, bass player, and piano player). I usually play Metallica, megadeth and other thrash metal, sometimes try something completely different (I can play master of puppets all down picked at album bpm). Looking for people who want to jam with me or make new music (personally working on some projects). Band can be online or offline, dm if interested.

So basically when I started playing guitar, I got myself a boss katana go 2, cuz it’s was convinent for me to play in an apartment and gave me a lot of options for the tones, but now I need to play in public occasionally and it’s not always convenient for me to use it, but the thing is, buying pedals alone are gonna cost me a lot, to get the tones I use, and I’m also kinda lost on which pedals I need. Also should I get individual pedals or a multi-effect pedal (which I head doesn’t sound as good as individual pedals)

I’ve been living in Moscow for a while now and I’m very I’ve been very introverted for the past years, so ive decided to force myself to meet other people and what better way then to make connection through music. I’ve been learning the guitar for a while now and have been jamming to mostly Metallica and other band songs and am looking forward to other bandmates to jam with overall. I also want to create my own songs and am working on some projects already. I don’t really know what are some good ways to meet other musicians who will be intreated in playing together. I need your suggestions and advice
