Should I buy Shadow of the Colossus?

Recently I've been looking at Shadow of the Colossus, but I'm still not certain if I should get it.

I've heard many good things about this game's scenery and atmosphere. It looks very impressive for the PS2 and the PS4 version looks equally great. That's the one I'll be getting.

In terms of gameplay, I can't say with certainty whether or not I'm good at puzzles in general, but maybe it won't be as bad. Is the game really difficult in addition to the puzzles the Colossi offer or do you just have to use your brain and everything will be alright?

I tend to play whatever game I happen to stumble upon, not really tied to a specific genre, but I don't think I have played any game that would be a good point of comparison for SotC. The closest thing that comes to mind is Elden Ring, and I gave up on that game pretty quickly, but I doubt Shadow of the Colossus will be just as hard.

Honestly, the main reason why this game interested me is that it came out on the same year and month as my date of birth and the main character's name is Wander. Is that a weird reason to buy a game? I don't know how well I'll do in the game, but atleast it'll make a fun birthday gift for me.

Are these turrets in Tower B actually avoidable?

Recently beat the Hind D, which was a lot of fun actually, but what I'm confused about are these turrets. Is it possible to avoid getting shot? Or is the level designer (whoever they might be) just messing with me?

Should I have left that FAMAS behind?

Got the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 today and right now I'm enjoying myself. The story is intriguing, and while I'm terrible at stealth, given how I've already died 5 times in just 1 hour and a half, the gameplay is something I do get better at the more I play.

There's this one Lv.2 storage area in the armory with a FAMAS but it's guarded by infrared lasers. I actually died twice to this. The first time I didn't even notice the lasers and the second time was after I realized that the chaff grenade does nothing to them. I didn't know initially that the cigarettes help, so I decided to ignore it and continue forward.

Here's my question: Should I have done that? Am I going to get another FAMAS later on or should I reload my save?

You ever had one of those days?

I know he's just sitting, but he looks like he's sulking in this photo.

I guess I have this now.

I thought I ordered LeafGreen but it turns out I'm just blind enough to confuse it with Emerald. I'll still play this, but I'm gonna think about this accident for a while.

This game is severe panic anxiety

This is one of many examples of me narrowly escaping detection.

Sorry it's not a proper video. I don't want to mess with microsd cards anymore.

Looking for games leaning towards exploration over combat

My experience with Metroidvanias goes as such:

The first of them that I tried was Castlevania Aria of Sorrow and I enjoyed it, along with the rest of the Igavanias. Unfortunately, Metroid's combat wasn't my style, though Prime remastered is not making me panic so that's a plus. Bloodstained Ritual of the Night looked interesting, but unfortunately my laptop is just potatoey enough for the game to crash suddenly. I played a little bit of Hollow Knight but got a bit tired of the platforming. Steamworld Dig 1 and 2 I really like and I'm looking forward to finishing the sequel. Shantae Pirate's curse is looking promising.

So right now I'm interested in hearing your suggestions: are there any more metroidvanias that are exploration oriented? I did look at some of the "easier" metroidvanias like Sheepo and Islets, Guacamelee, Ori but something about the way the combat looks doesn't work with me. I'm sorry if I'm too picky, but I'm interested in a metroidvania with combat that isn't too taxing.

What if Mega Man was a Skylander?

Just a random idea I got. Not related to the Pokemasters project. I think I still might have symptoms of Mega Man Mania.

I don't know what I expected

A 2025 video I dug up from my Switch. This was my experience with Pikmin, my dear friends.

Just a quick warning, the plants from Neon Mixtape Tour, Jurassic Marsh, Big Wave Beach and Modern Day I ranked from memory, so take this ranking with a LARGE grain of salt.

Some plants I grouped together (like Primal Wallnut, Chard Guard, Tallnut, Infinut) because they're kind of on the same level.
