Stay with full synthetic or go to synthetic blend?

Getting time to do an oil change and I'm not really sure what I want to go with Honda HP4S again or change to my prefered synthetic blend. I ride it like I stole the it and with Iowa weather being more bi polar than my ex, I'm leaning more towards the HP4S since it's supposedly able to handle high heat and flow better in cold, but it's expensive af and not really sure if it's worth it.

Time for a new chain / full look over?

I've put a lot of miles on the bike really fast recently, about 2500 since March. I've noticed that my chain is a little stiff in a few spots and has definitely stretched a lot. Seems to still flop around even with having the tensioner a bit tighter than I would like. Is it time for a new chain or should I be okay till the end of the year? Also concerned too about what I should check up like seals or bearings since I put a lot of miles on the bike so fast.

A Year and 3500 Miles Later....

First off, happy father's day to all the dads out there, wouldn't know where'd I be in life without mine.

Today marks 1 year with the money pit. Really loving the bike even with it's really werid quirks and all the goofy looks I get. Didn't really think I'd be a motorcycle guy, never really cared much for cars, bikes, trucks etc., but yet here I am with a heavily modified crf300l. Really the only mods left that I want to do are Core Moto brake lines and the suspension, but changing jobs and saving up for a house has put a damper on things, so hopefully in the future it'll happen.

Neighbor's friend keeps boxing me in and gave ridiculous answer to why.

For the past few weeks my neighbor has had a friend over for what I'm guessing for lunch. Usually this takes place a few minutes after I get to my apartment on lunch break, she pulls up too close to my truck which prevents me from leaving since there's a fence in front and I can't get turned around. When I asked them about it, their response was I need to learn to slow down and not be in such a hurry all the time and other boomer stuff like not having respect etc. Landlord supposedly talk to neighbor about it, but next day same thing happens and ended up being late and got written up at work for it.

Building confidence to ride by myself.

I live about 20 minutes away from an OHV park and ride out there all the time with friends whenever we all have time. I switched jobs and during the summer months I only work 8 hour days, leaving me with quite a bit more free time than my friends. I've ridden most of the trails multiple times knowing what to expect, I've got a capable bike, I would consider myself an intermediate rider. I just cannot seem to find the confidence to get out there by myself, I'm not really sure what I'm exactly worried about.

What to look for when buying used?

Looking at getting my first ar, I've been looking at a new S&W MP Sport 3. My LGS has hundreds of used ar and with most of my other firearms being used and not having issues with them, I figured why not try to save a few bucks. Anything I should be on the lookout for such as uppers / lowers to stay away from, what parts and how to check to see if they are worn out, etc.

Honda OEM USB C Charger

Has anyone installed the USB C charger that Honda makes on the non rally 300L? I'm wanting a charger on the bike since battery packs are a pain, but I'd rather connect to the accessory plug on the bike by the headlight instead of tapping into the battery.

"Temporary" fixes

As per usual some of the "temporary" fixes have become more of a permanent fix.. I'm not alone on this right? I've got so many bits and pieces that just don't match or make sense. Was rocking hot pink straps for my tank bag for awhile, until one of my riding buddies gave me some different ones because he couldn't stand them🤣.

Wrapping up the build

Honestly, I didn't think I'd get the ol girl set up close to how I wanted it in about a year. A bit has changed since I took this picture, bike now has the Acerbis tank and Tusk Waypoints, but pretty much all of the major performance and styling mods are done. Haven't done the suspension yet as I haven't figured out what route I want to take. Thinking about getting some Core Moto braided brake lines and doing some other minor cosmetic stuff, like colored radiator hoses etc.

Acerbis Tank

I installed the bigger acerbis tank this weekend and I've been having issues with gas coming back out of the tank through the cap / vent. Is this from the gas sloshing around or am I having a venting issue?

Airoh Commander 2 problems

I've been having this problem a lot lately with the comfort liner sliding and the EPS foam in my Commander 2 digging into my head causing pain and discomfort. Anyone else having this issue, if so what did you do to remedy it? Helmet is a perfect fit, I've checked to make sure my senna wires are bunched up, and I've tried tape with no success. I've thought about trying to put another layer of thin packing foam behind the ANS system liner, but I'm not sure if it'll allow for the ANS liner to actually slide around like it's supposed to in a crash.

Airoh Commander 2 problems

I've been having this issue a lot now, especially with it being warmer and riding longer distances, I'm curious if anyone else has this problem. The comfort liner in my Commander 2 seems to slide around causing the hard EPS foam to rub / dig into the side of my head causing pain and discomfort. Helmet fits perfectly and I absolutely love it, but it's getting hard for me to wear it, I've been going back to my bell mx9 which isn't sized correctly. I've checked to make sure none of my Sena cables are bunched up in that spot and I've tried tape with no success. I've thought about putting a thin layer of packing foam, but I'm not sure if it'll work with the rotation impact system in the helmet.

Mantis X10 dry fire system

Pretty new to the handgun world, with picking up my first in January. I've definitely gotten better over the past few months of shooting 200-300 rounds a week out of the various handguns I now own, going from a 14" group at 15 yds to about a 8" group somewhat consistently. Ideally going to a class would be the best for improvement, but that's out of the question for my area, so I started looking into dry fire systems. The Mantis X10 seems to be a solid choice, but I'm not really sure what all I actually need. Do I need to get snap caps, a special mag for my striker fired guns or is that unnecessary with this system?

First H&K

Funny enough was actually looking for a Walther PDP, but stumbled upon a used vp9 tactical for $680. Not really sure on age, little to no wear which surprised me for a used gun. Supposedly also has an aftermarket trigger too, but I can't seem to find any markings.

Chain Wax Question

I noticed when I got back from my ride today, that my chain was weirdly clean in the middle as well as the o- rings. Is that possibly from my sproket or from using an offroad chain lube?

Training ranges

How are people finding ranges that allow them to actually train / practice for competitive shooting? I'm trying my best to not go on a rant as I have pretty strong feelings about this as I'm assuming others do to.

My local range happens to have a section where several SWAT teams train, so it's pretty well set up. Early fall and late spring there's actually a lot of normal guys that train out there, but when the weather warms up is when problems start happening. Long story short, if there's more than 5 people an RSO is supposed to be designated, which usually is some dinosaur that doesn't like my Tupperware guns.

This makes it extremely hard to train / practice for competitive shooting, even though we're on the completely opposite side of the property. A few buddies and I have looked into possibly purchasing 1-2 acres together, but it's damn near impossible since we're all fairly young and it's mainly farm land around me, so you can't just buy an acre. Any suggestions in what other options or how to find other ranges?

Area rugs

Trying to make the place feel less empty, I've been trying to find an area rug online as there's really not anywhere near me that I can find with a quick search that sells what I would consider "guy" rugs. If you have purchased one online where did you get it from? Unfortunately all I can really find are either AI slop or just too plain.

EDC upgrades recommendations

Wanting to make my G19.V more personalized and fit my needs, but don't want to cause reliability issues. I've had problems with trying to find compatible items that are clearly listed as fitting the V model. All I've done is a TLR7X and some grip tape currently. I'm looking at getting a TTI carry magwell, GS enhanced performance trigger, and possibly a TTI expanded mag base plate but I'm unsure on whether to get a +2 or a +4. I don't wanna spend the money on all those fancy parts and none of them work, so any insights on what fits and doesn't would be a great help.

Belt printing issue / new belt recommendations.

As dumb as it sounds, I've had more issues with my belt closure "printing" than my CCW and definitely draws more attention then I would prefer, as my buddy said, it looks like I'm packing in a different way. I have a traditional style belt and the only way I've found to prevent this issue is to move the closure as far to the left belt loop as possible, which isn't very comfortable. That needs to change, so I'm looking for recommendations for a new more CCW friendly belt as I have no clue what to even look for. Would prefer to be leather and absolutely needs to be compatible with your standard work pants.
