We missed the Green India Mission target by 98% — after a decade. Let that sink in.

98%.

Not 20%. Not 50%. Not even 80%.

According to the CAG's latest findings, the Green India Mission fell short of its forest-cover targets by nearly 98% during its 10 years of implementation from 2015–16 to 2024–25.

The mission was created to protect, restore and enhance India's forest and tree cover. Its broader target included increasing forest/tree cover by 5 million hectares and improving the quality of another 5 million hectares.

And after ten years, the scale of the shortfall is honestly difficult to comprehend.

This isn't just about planting trees.

It's about climate resilience, biodiversity, water security, air quality and the kind of environment we leave behind for the next generation.

The CAG has also flagged issues around implementation and management. Meanwhile, the Green India Mission has continued to receive public funding; the 2026–27 allocation is ₹170 crore, while PRS notes that only 28% of the revised 2025–26 allocation had been utilised.

So my question isn't simply “Why did we fail?”

It's:

How can a national environmental mission miss its target by nearly 98% over a decade without triggering much stronger accountability?

If the original targets were unrealistic, they should have been revised transparently.

If implementation was the problem, those responsible should have been held accountable.

And if funding or coordination was the problem, that should have been addressed much earlier.

We cannot keep announcing ambitious environmental targets while treating the actual results as an afterthought.

Finally got a swimming slot, and now the pool is closed for maintenance 🙃

After months of struggle, I finally got a slot this month for swimming. In the very first week itself, I got the news that the pool will remain closed until further notice for maintenance.

Does this happen every month, or does August have something special going on? 😀

And I've already paid the fees till the end of September. 🫠

How are introverts finding their partners?

24M here, I've been thinking about this a lot lately, so I wanted to put it out here and hear how others have navigated it.

I'm an introvert, and honestly, that's made both dating and friendships harder than I expected. Not because I don't want connection, I want it a lot but because I refuse to fake my way into it. I'm not going to throw out cheesy lines or perform a version of myself just to "impress" someone. That's not who I am, and it feels dishonest to even the person I'm trying to connect with.

What I actually want is simple to say and hard to find: someone genuine. Someone who sees a relationship romantic or platonic as something built slowly and honestly, not as a transaction or a checklist. I care a lot about my career and where I'm headed, but I've realized this part of life matters just as much, maybe more.

The tricky part is figuring out how to put myself out there without it feeling forced or, worse, coming across as creepy which is a real fear when you're naturally quiet and don't have a big social circle to lean on.

So I'm curious:

How did you meet people you now consider genuine friends or partners, especially if you're also more reserved by nature?

Did you have to change how you show up socially, or did you find your people by just being consistently yourself?

Any spaces (online or offline) that actually worked for you, beyond the usual "join a club" advice?

Not looking for shortcuts just real experiences from people who've been here.

FYI: I'm not lonely, I do have 2-3 friends from my school time( both gender), it's just as you grow up you crave friendship outside your school life as well.

I'm an introvert in my personal life( my real self) and extrovert in my professional life( I had to :( )

TDLR: 24M introvert, struggling to build genuine friendships/relationships without faking it or using cheap tactics. Want real connections, not transactional ones. How did you meet your people, especially if you're also reserved by nature?
