Oregon. 43 female. Single no kids, which is killing me.

I got laid off my job 3 months ago, the business went bankrupt, so we got unemployment for 6 weeks but that's it, apparently when they go bankrupt there's no company to get the money from, so you're just out of luck.

So, I haven't found another job yet, I'm scrambling like crazy but hey, third highest unemployment rate here in Oregon. My company that shut down laid off over 800 here, I don't want to say more then just Oregon if that's ok but it's been rough.

So I get $43 a month in food stamps, that's it cause no kids, they didn't change the amount when I lost unemployment, they said it would go up but it didn't so 🤷 doesn't get me far so I just don't eat much, but was told I would loose our Medicaid in January if I didn't have 20 hours of work as well.

When I called the number she set me up with an appt with work source to work with them, she said they would help me to figure out what qualifies for that 20 hours if you're not working. But no matter what if it's not work I will loose the Medicaid.

But then the worker there says no, I don't loose that the 20 hours is so I can keep the $43. I'm like dude, it's $43 that's not worth doing your 20 hours of work, she goes you should get more even as a single person, claims she's gonna look into it but they've said that before.

So no one seems to know.

I have arthritis, it's very severe yet doctors won't say I'm disabled from it if I stay on medication, well if I loose the insurance I loose the medication because it's like $2500 a month.

It sucks, I didn't ask to loose my job, and if I would have gotten unemployment longer I would at least have some income.

Does anyone understand these new rules cause I don't.

I also live 35 minutes from the work source office, so I'm like do I have to go there for this 20 hours a week? Cause gas is $5 a gallon with no income.

I will happily just take a job again! Lol I've send hundreds of applications in the last few months, gotten 2 phone interviews, that's it! And work source already went over my resume with me.

I already restarted once because I goofy around exploring and used up all my food, I assumed I would have food growers early, oops I used up all my food and had no more.

So now this time, still early in game this time, it says I need more oxygen in order to get growers, I feel like once I have food I can chill and just enjoy the game.

How on earth can I get that oxygen up?

Any tips welcome!! Please!!

I've read some reviews that says this doesn't work too well on the switch, I'd love to know if that's just people not liking the small writing, or is it not worth buying on this platform.

I've just had a craving for a animal game, but I know sometimes the animal games just don't have enough to do for adults, would I get bored too fast or are they cute enough and on sale would they be worth it?

Are these games even worth it if dirt cheap since they are so short?

I read like 2 hours long. But also read they were gorgeous. But does that mean they are not replayable, I mean do you see it all the first time around?

Does this work on switch 1? I'm reading mixed reviews and that makes me nervous. I do have a steam deck so I could get it on there instead if it doesn't work well on this system.

Registered to donated plasma today, was there for an hour and a half today, had gone through so much of the process, then they tell me I'm not allowed to because I have a type of arthritis.

So, that sucked.

I thought I found a way to make some extra cash.

Backstory, I got laid off my job, trying to find a way to make extra cash until I find another job, not a easy market here in Oregon, third highest unemployment.

But I was so sad to find out I wasn't allowed to do this.

I was told I could have made $600-$700 for the first 8 visits, then they cut it in half but still. I really needed that!

Any other ideas that really work, not fake ideas please.

I'm wondering if someone can tell me if this game works on the deck.

But also will it work with a mouse.

I have arthritis, I love my deck but with my arthritis I discovered it's heavier and I have a hard time holding it and dealing with the controls. However if I sit it on a docking station and use a mouse it works great like a mini laptop.

This is how I play all my games on it, but I always check to make sure they work.

So I just wanted to check if this process works well if others have tried it.

Hello, someone recommended Fabledom to me, it looks like one I would enjoy, because I very much enjoy cozy games, however I only have a switch one at this time.

I got laid off my job so can't afford a upgrade at this time, however I have a birthday coming up, and since all I do is apply for jobs, and it's so repetitive I could use a new game to fill any extra time I have. I could use the cheerfulness!

I read it doesn't work well at all on the switch one, so I'm hoping someone can recommend a game like it but for a switch one.

I want a building one like this, but Cozy. But not overly complicated, I used to play the old city building games and loved those, but some of the new ones like civilization are just too complicated sometimes. I want fun not stressful, I have enough stress!! Lol

Bonus if I interact with the people in the settlement.

My brother gave me his switch version of Skyrim because he got it for his PC.

I usually do more cozy games, but he told me to put it on the easiest version and I may enjoy it.

I played hogwarts on the easiest version for comparison, that has some fighting, I really enjoyed it, I loved the open world and I love when I can hoard and collect stuff!!

I would love tips and hints on how to keep this cozy please.

I'm just not one of those people who knew what I wanted to do. I've never known.

I've always been jealous of those 16 year old kids that knew right away, then went to school, graduated college and had a career figured it all out and were successful.

43 and I still have no clue.

My family was always poor, we got by, but barely. Not from a lack of trying, my dad never sat down, owned his own business, never stopped working, but came from a hard family and little support growing up.

So no college for me, and medical issues that were always so expensive, still are, there's no money left for that.

I'm quiet, introvert. I worked small parts manufacturing for 10 years making brain scanning equipment but the company folded with covid. That was my best job cause we could just work and listen to audiobooks and no one bugged me all day lol.

But since then been stuck with customer service jobs that suck me dry. Answering phones was the worst job ever! Oregon has 3rd highest unemployment so been laid off 2 more times. Businesses just can't stay open here. So unemployed yet again, none of them have been my fault at least.

I'm also from a small town so have to commute 35-45 minutes which also sucks with gas prices high.

I just have no idea where to go from here. I have arthritis, so standing all day causes ankles and knees to swell bad!

I hate that life is always feeling so uncertain.

I've never done it, but I know you can make ok money at it.

However unfortunately for me, I have to go off of one of my medications that treats my arthritis to do this.

I may end up hurting, a lot, but hard times call for hard decisions.

I was laid off my job, and now 3 weeks ago my unemployment ran out.

I have filled out over 500 job applications, nothing. Oregon has the third highest unemployment, it is so hard here!

So, it's been a month since I've taken the medication, I was told it has to be 45 days then I can still do it as long as I want to it's the medication not the disease that will prevent this.

Is there something else like this, 2 hours of my time for guaranteed pay, I can sit and listen to music, hopefully won't be too bad.

Been laid off for months, now out of unemployment.

My little dog is sick, I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow, but it means it will probably be all my money, but he's all I have. I don't care what it takes he's my everything. I will do anything to help him.

He's only 5, he's the sweetest thing, he has a sensitive stomach and something is wrong. Please help. I find so many on here but so many seem so fake.

I always loved that game Babyz when I was young, but I'm not techy enough to figure out how to get it to run on my PC, though my brother said he might take a look and see if he can make it run when he comes to visit next, he lives a few hours away.

I'm playing tomodachi life living the dream, I love playing a very cozy game that calms my anxiety, I love having one when I need it where it requires no skill lol. Just raising people, taking care of them.

Well it made me remember this old game Babyz, on PC, way back in the day.

I tried years ago to get it again and got it but it won't work on my PC anymore, just too old.

Anyone remember it? If so can anyone recommend a game like that? Just taking care of babies, bonus if they grow, since tomodachi life the babies grow right away, I was sad about that.

I do all the story of season games, but you have the farming, which yes I love but was hoping for one just more along these lines.

When looking on indeed how do you know which remote work is real?

I worked remote for 2 years, then 350 of us were laid off. I would love to find something like that again.

But when I look, I find ones that say United States, ones that say remote, but are very, well empty. Like they don't talk about a place where they are located, is that normal? Mine had a place where it was located close by we just got to work remote.

It also never lists benefits, do they never have benefits?

Or are these all fake?

This is so exhausting.

The only good thing about that one was I got to work from home.

I don't have a degree of any sort.

I live in a small town in Oregon, gas is still almost $4.50 here. Any other jobs people can still do from home now days? Without degrees? The nearest big towns are 40 minutes away, gas is gonna kill my wallet.

Times are rough, jobs are hard to find, so many lay offs here.
