Why do I need a BIOS Firmware Update to play this game?

I have TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and all of the (other) listed requirements fulfilled. I'm pretty confused on why the game wants me to update my BIOS, something which I haven't really seen a game ask before.

I do know how to update my BIOS and will be doing so shortly but - why does this game ask for it in the first place? Other games which require Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 work fine on my current version.

Would you be more interested in Modern Warfare 4 if the game had a longer life cycle?

I haven't played ANY Call of Duty game before, but I play a lot of other FPS games. So far, I'm pretty much sold on MW4 and I really enjoy the stuff they've been putting out.

However - Call of Duty is one of the rare franchises who puts out a premium game every year (besides sports games). To me, it's a little concerning that there will be a new game relatively soon after MW4.

To people who have played previous Call of Duty games and have experienced the "modern" life cycle - how do they handle it? Does it feel like your time and money invested is respected when the next game launches? Is this a concern you have for MW4, or not at all?

FYI: You only get MW4 Beta Codes if you are paying for Nitro (no trials)

Discord Nitro codes are rolling out right now.

If you have Nitro redeemed with Orbs or a free trial (such as Xbox Game Pass), you can't get a code.

You have to have the actual, paid Nitro subscription (although I believe Nitro Basic counts. I haven't checked).

Don't waste your time grinding for orbs/activating a trial

So, do you guys think Hummer is real?

I saw a lot of people saying Hummer was actually the leviathan itself, personified.

Some evidence I saw was:

* Parameterization saying "what do you mean *we* will"? when Wifies says they will return the items

* Hummer saying "believe in me" (him, specifically) before drowning

Do you guys think this is a legitimate theory? I can't find anything to fully confirm nor deny it, but I haven't rewatched the video yet.

Techland has completely forgotten Dying Light 2's identity recently

This is my second post about this, but in light of recent changes and updates, I thought there was more I can add.

Dying Light 2 HAD amazing post launch support, but this went off the rails the second parkour stamina was removed. This was unique to DL2 and was the basis of a lot of progression.

Afterwards, they removed the prologue. Spike's character was completely gutted. Cillian had his entire sequence removed, meaning his character also makes no sense when he randomly appears near the end. Hakon's military background and a lot of his early dialogue was also removed, making Hakon's character weaker. These are key characters in Dying Light 2 or the Dying Light series as a whole, why weaken or ruin them completely?

Now, upcoming Update 1.29 seems to be similarly backtracking years of positive changes to Dying Light 2. It plans to change the UV light color to be more blue (similar to Dying Light: The Beast) and make unlocking early skills like Dropkick or Heavy Attack easier.

Why are they focusing so hard on removing content, or making it more similar to other Dying Light games? Dying Light 2 has its own identity, just like Dying Light: The Beast or Dying Light 1 does. I bought all three Dying Light games and enjoyed both their differences and similarities.

I firmly believe DL2 should have its own identity, and that every update 1.24 and onwards have been steadily reversing years of positive sentiment around the game after previous post-launch support.

Who is asking for this stuff? Why is this the priority? If this is what they plan to do to DL2... I would rather they just forget about it and stop updating it entirely, at this point.

Embark is incredibly inconsistent with how hoods work on their cosmetics

Skins, in order: Saltwalker, Solare, Nascosto, Bog Walker, Dweller, Bonecrown, Volare, Valente.

I noticed recently that the hoods on different cosmetics don't work the same:
For some outfits, Headgear/Hood Off removes it completely from the skin.
For other outfits, Headgear/Hood Off pulls it down, but keeps it visible.

Why did Embark decide to design the skins this way? In terms of "immersion", it wouldn't really make sense to tear something off of your clothes like this?

I thought it might just be recycled assets for Solare, Bonecrown, and Valente, but other skins such as the Bog Walker have entirely different hood designs and they still are pulled down rather than taken off completely.

This is a really minor issue but I'm confused why it works this way. It seems like there isn't a standardized approach in the skins department regarding how hoods should work.

I really wish there was some setting to have both for each skin (off completely and pulled down) considering some of these skins would really benefit from having that extra detail instead of removing it.

I think all Tsuru Reef needs is more small transport vehicles in the map

I am absolutely loving the new map but the only thing I would change is to add more small vehicles such as motorcycles, cars (Vector / Traverser), and ATVs.

I saw people talking about jet skis which I also think is a great idea.

I think the player count is great, but running from objective to objective can get a little too slow sometimes.

This is completely fine if you have a competent team who understands the value of good transportation with vehicles, but can get pretty annoying if people hog the useful vehicles and pretty much refuse to move away from spawn.

Overall, I would just add more ways to get around the map that spawn within the map itself

So what's next for MW4 news?

I don't really follow Call of Duty, this will probably be my first COD game - so I'm a bit out of the loop

After Fanatics Fest and all this new gameplay, what should we expect in terms of more content and reveals about Modern Warfare 4? What does the (currently known) timeline look like between now and October 23rd?

I assume something to do with more videos, an eventual open beta, and maybe more creator events. I was wondering if there's any other stuff to look forward to though.

What is happening to Dying Light 2?

I played Dying Light 2 for the first time around a year ago after finishing Dying Light 1 (June 2026). I really enjoyed the game, and heard great things about how much it has improved since launch. I had the impression that Techland's updates to the game post-launch were meaningful and had a clear vision for what they were trying to achieve.

However - I'm really, really confused on these last few updates.

For me, this started back when parkour stamina was first removed. I don't understand the reason for this, as we don't need any parity with Dying Light 1 or Dying Light: The Beast considering they are different games. The inclusion of parkour stamina in Dying Light 2 was literally everywhere throughout the game, from the use of inhibitors to various activities that you could complete.

And then they removed the prologue of an already released game. Once again, I don't understand the reason for this. The game had a skip button, and the prologue was a part of the game that the vast majority of people enjoyed anyways (as far I can see).

Additionally - time gated limited events, "reworked UI" to make the shop more accessible and sell more DL points, etcetera

I appreciate them updating Dying Light 2 while Dying Light: The Beast is out, but I don't understand why these recent updates seems to be a "one step forward, three steps back" kind of situation. The game isn't unplayable by any means, it just feels like we are, overall, regressing instead of staying still or moving forward.

If anyone knows how to revert to an old version on PC/Steam please let me know...

Realistically - is there a chance the flags will return?

I was on vacation so I didn't get to claim my country's flag. Is there a way they will ever appear again, maybe even as a set of challenges or something? I haven't really kept up with their socials, so I'm not sure if they've said anything.

The finale fumbled Jax so bad it's frustrating

I thought the ending really invalidated Jax and his entire character development leading up to Episode 9. What happens is pretty much - he sculks around, abstracts off screen, and then that entire part of the story is pushed to the side to make room for the ending.

I felt kind of grossed out throughout the entire segment with Jax - not because he called Gangle "kitten", that was probably intentionally weird - but because of the message his character has.

Jax is a young adult male who is very lost with himself and displays a lot of generally toxic coping strategies. I don't claim to understand his entire philosophy but he very clearly can be relatable for some people who struggle with those things, too.

So - how does he solve these issues? At the end of the day, he wanders off, (digitally) kills himself, and then everyone gets happier afterwards. I don't know how else to phrase that. That is not really a message I want to support.

I'm not well-versed in anything related to writing stories or producing shows but the largest flaw which stood out to me was making Jax abstract off-screen. It just felt very disrespectful of the entire story up to that point.

The story (so far) is incredible

I really enjoy the entire storyline with NoA, the World Tree, "Jubilee" and the alien shenanigans. It's pretty clear that Unknown Worlds is going for something even more unique than the first Subnautica.

If it's already this interesting even in the FIRST early access, I cannot wait for the full story. Also wondering whether they will keep the game linear or whether we will have several endings as it seems possible

I'm glad that Embark is making an effort to fix Trials in Season 4 but it is still a very flawed system. The more you think about it, the more confusing their game design choices get.

You are placed in a Trials leaderboard depending on the day you progress your first Trial in a given week. This means that NOT playing the game for the first 5-6 days of a week makes Trials easier, because you are more likely to be matched with people who are casual/not very committed to Trials (especially at lower ranks).

The crazier part to me is Cantina Legend. There is an 8-9 week Trial season, and the only time that you can progress to Cantina Legend is in the final week. You can set world records for several weeks straight just to underperform once and lose that title. However, even if you DO get Cantina Legend during a season, that just means that you can afford doing no trials next week and stay at Hotshot.

Once again, committing to Trials actively discourages you from playing the game VERY often. This is why so many people don't focus too much on trials and instead do them occasionally (if at all). It is super easy to get completely burnt out with the current state of the Trials system.
