I'm thankful my One Plus hasnt had any heat issues yet, cut the back yard yesterday when it was in the 80s (high of 92f)

Its been fairly cool in the Midwest so far this summer, but we are getting into the 90s this week. So I sent mine out to cut the backyard yesterday around 9am, it was in the mid 80s already. I checked the camera a few times and I could tell it was actually cutting fairly late into the job. I couldnt see any tall strips when I got home from work either.

Cutting speed was set to normal, and 0.4m/s. I think thats around 1.3f/s? I was in imperial units, but havent switched it back after the last firmware update. I just can't be bothtered to keep changing units after every firmware update.

I think my slower speeds do help on keeping it running in the heat, as well as the thinner grass that we typically have in the midwest. I also did order a spare set of Timken bearings and seals, since failed bearings seems to be one of the causes of overheating motors.

I realized how nice it is to be able to stay ontop of mowing during the hotter weeks in the summer last night, as I looked out my front window while sitting in the AC last night. Now I am just hoping that my luck holds with the Lymo will it work lotto.

I hate this turn lane.... Everyone else I watch takes the red path, or cuts it even harder.

I only have to deal with this when visiting family, but I get frustrated with it evey time....

I always make sure I do not clip the yellow line, and its only a single turn lane, so you do not have to worry about an outside lane hitting you. I then watch cars in my mirrors cut at least the one turn lane, if not both of the turn lanes...

They clearly saw this issue with the north bound ramp on the other side, and moved the turn lanes back a bit. This is clearly on the traffic engineers with their poor line placement.

Blue taking a nap in her chair after a second walk today

Phone said it was around 74 when we started, and about 30 minutes in she stopped to lay down in the shade and roll around a bit, right at one of the intersections where I either cut our walk short or add another loop, perfect timing to let me know that was far enough for her.

It started to rain during our morning walk, but almost got our full walk in. So decided to give her a quick walk after some lunch before it got to hot, next walk probably won't be until around 8pm.

At&t speeds getting worse?

I feel like my connection has been getting considerably worse lately, this was in a McDonald's parking lot on my lunch break.

I might have to try the T-Mobile towers again and see if they have improved near my house. Had to many dead zones in my neighborhood with T-Mobile in the past, but great everywhere else.

More pictures of my 4Runner

Since I couldn't include pictures with my other post, I'll add a few older pictures of my engine bay and digital dash install testing.

Digital dash project

This has been taking me far too long to work on... I'm running a megasquirt ECU, and decided to build a digital dash to go with it. I started on this year's ago and have had a few different screens, but kept getting hung up on mounting and fitting in a way I was happy with.

Ended up switching to a screen that didn't fill the entire width, and made printed end brackets that worked great. I still need to figure out how to mount all the other boards on the back, and wire management.

And I finally wired up an octocoupler to bench test a turn signal last night, a bit of head scratching, then I finally just followed the directions and it worked ๐Ÿ˜‚

Going to add a high beam indicator and 4wd as well.

Also was able to bench test a spare fuel sensor to mostly figure out how I need to wire that in, to get the ECU to work with it.

Home page not loading, thanks Fusion

https://preview.redd.it/956kv033fg9h1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=068f7d77eb4b0a5c8b078bf8bb600bc98cfd8f81

Been using the home page a bit more recently, since I have files from multiple projects that I have been working on lately, and its faster to find a recent file than going through the data panel at times.

And now the home page refuses to load lol

I did recently switch hubs to take a screenshot of another part I did, and then switched back, maybe that triggered it?

Anyways trying to use what fusion wants us to use a bit more, and then it just straight up breaks. The Data panel is still my goto for finding stuff most of the time, but I do jump into the home page every now and then.

African ranger BF fudges might be ready for new soles

Have had these since September of last year, main pair of shoes after I broke them in. And several hot long walks. With my dog as well.

Been working on walking better with less heel strikes, and thinking about how I angle. My feet as I walk.

Right shoe probably wears faster just from walking on the side of the road and my left foot is often on the concrete edging while my right is on rougher blacktop, and the slope of the road for water drainage.

I do have a second pair that are 1/2 a size bigger, as these were to tight at first, but 12s were to loose around my ankle. After some break in time the 11-1/2s felt good, though more room for my toes would be nice.

Might stop by a local cobbler this week

Order for dine-in, they make it instantly for drive thru... Then place it on the takeout rack

This is the Wendy's by my work, and most of the time this is how they handle my mobile orders. I think I've gotten my order on a tray maybe 20% of the time?

At least the food at this location is good.

Blue hunting bubbles in the rain

She used to hate puddles, but now she runs towards them so she can hunt for bubbles ๐Ÿ˜‚

She started doing this maybe 2 years ago, and this one particular puddle is the one that started it, and her favorite. She will run up and down it as long as I let her.

My girl used to love shed zoomies, still does this every now and then

This was a daily event for awhile, she still dives under the shed if she gets her zoomies outside ๐Ÿ˜‚ and sometimes she just goes under there to chill for a bit.

And rabbits still live under the front half of the shed....

I am also attempting to grow grass around the shed this year, I doubt all of it will last... But I have hopes that most of it will hold up now.

Stop giving me this pop-up

First time changing custom settings, tell me this. But I do not need to know this every single time I go to change the angle of my zones, which is just about every single time I send it out to mow....

I like that Autodesk pushes changes that upset users, it keeps Fusion modern.

Solidworks users also pushback with changes every year, and I feel that is a big reason that Solidworks overall feels very stuck in the past with much of its UI and how its tools work. Their userbase hates change.

Autodesk has made several major UI and workflow changes with Fusion in the past, and its always meet with backlash from the community at first. And many of those changes might be a bit rough, or poorly thought out at first. But they do improve them over a few updates.

Dark mode was a little buggy at first, even in beta a lot of the feedback felt ignored, but now its in a pretty good place. I know that was a change people have been asking for, and is not really the same. But does highlight how they focus more on UI fixes for releases after they release it.

The recent version number change doesnt bother me, it does seem a bit more hidden than it used to be. But now that I know its an icon, its easy enough to find and search for past saves. And with the new colab features they are working on, it makes sense that the old way needed to go.

Labeling every single save as a version was a wierd way to handle saves. The old Milestone tool was what should have been, and is now your version number tool. Versions should be when its ready to be released/printed/machined. Then follow-up versions when changes/updates are made, with the next release. I might save a fusion file 20 times before I am even ready to test a single part in that file. The very first test print should not be labeled Version 20, if its really the very first version I am testing.

The part workflow change with parts, assemblies, and Hybrid I am also fine with, and I am now trying to use the assembly mode with final assemblies, mixed with part files and hybrid files depending on what the part is. A bolt for example does not need to be a hybrid file, but a hinge with movement works best as a Hybrid file.

I'm still not used to mowing so often....

Still not running a set schedule, I just manually send it out when I think it's Good time. Been about every 2-4 days, depending on how the grass looks and if I think about it.

Only had one day that it was being to dumb to mow so far.... Followed by a second dumb day where I saw it crashing into things, smart object detection currently seems to be broken. And the bumper will crash into the same thing 4 times before it goes around.

Overall I'm still happy with my Lymow, but concerned if I ever really need tech support.

I should probably start working on fixing my old riding mower, so I have a backup option if ever needed.

That look

You know the zoomies are brewing when you can see the white in their eyes ๐Ÿ˜‚

She got a bath shortly after this, followed by a bully stick, then walkies, and post walk play time in the backyard.

Slow to bury lines?

I am not a customer, but I did attempt to become one last winter... Only to be told I would have to pay something like $600 for the line due to the box location and having to go under my neihbors driveway, even though I had a short jumper box next to my driveway... Customer service later told me I could probably be connected to the jumper box, but I decided to wait for better weather.

Anyways, I have been walking my dog almost every day since mid febuary once the weather was back above 25 or so? And have seen several houses with fiber lines strung along trees and open boxes ever since... As far as I can tell, not a single line has been burried yet?

From some quick reading it sounds like they try to claim 1-2 weeks, and that can be the case for some, but then they say it can take up to 90 days? So they want customers to have to avoid damaging a fragile line while doing yardwork for 3 months? And seems like its taking even longer than that in my area?

Seeing those long delays has kept me from reaching back out, I haven't had any issues at all with Xfinity. And their customer service has always been good, and they are pretty quick to send techs out when needed.

After giving up on getting it to mow Sunday, was able to run both the backyard and frontyard yesterday.

Sunday morning I made the mistake of updating my lymow's firmware, then sent it out to mow the backyard.

It kept running into the fence on the perimeter... Then the deck shut off as it tried to re-adjust, and the deck failed to turn back on after that. It also wasnt matching what it was showing on the map in the app, vs where it actually was in my yard. But returned to dock just fine.

Sent it out again, it made it a bit futher, but got stuck under my shed.....

Turned off precise edge mode, tried again, failed again.

Then told it to cut main area first, and it kept driving outside the map into an area I had removed from the map, so I could grow some grass seed... I stood in front it it, and it drove into my foot several times, refusing to give up. So I gave up for the day and sent it back to dock.

Yesterday afternoon while still at work, I decided to send it out and keep an eye on it via the app and its camera at times. It some how reverted to the older map? I let it run anyways... Then watched it ram into my sprinker that is spiked into the ground, 3 or 4 times, thanks smart object detetction....

But it did finish the backyard, and looked like it did a good job.

I sent it out to cut the front yard later that day, when I took my dog for a walk. And it only gave an error when it went to dock after finishing... It drove straight into my house, and the bumper was stuck for a moment... Again thanks smart object detection! Houses are so hard to see!

Noticed that it also lost the update I had made to slightly rotating the docking station, and smoothing out the channel to the docking station.

TLDR: Firmware updates can break map changes.

Finally tried a slip lead, she adjusted instantly to it

We went on 4, one hour long walks this weekend using it. Pretty much need zero training with it, as I have spent years working in her walking better with a harness. But she still has her moments where she reacts at some dogs, or pulls at the start of a walk.

We didn't come across too many dogs this weekend, but we did have one charge down a driveway at us, barking non stop, and she did good at not barking and only some whining/excitement. Might have let out a couple barks? The other owner was able to get his doggo to return with recall commands, but it was probably 8-10 feet from us before turning back.

And Saturday night, there was a bunny sitting in our front yard as we returned from our walk, and we walked about 5 feet from it. Blue didn't even react or look at it.

Also spent a fair bit of time playing with her this weekend in the backyard, she had a great weekend.

And after finally trying a slip lead, I can strongly recommend giving one a try.

Going out of bounds

Updated the firmware this morning, and now it constantly wants to drive out of bounds....

I tried telling it to mow the main area first with lower edge precision. And it immediately went to attack my sprinkler when I'm trying to grow some grass.

It also went into this area earlier, and turned with one track locked, ripping up the dirt.

It is overcast today, maybe that's impacting it's RTK a bit?

Might pull the battery later and try again.
