Do you think one day everything will be community care and VA’s won’t exist?

I think long term, that’s this administration’s dream. Especially with opening up so much speciality care to community care.

I think once the data is in and it shows veterans prefer community care, they’ll say, “Hey, veterans prefer their care in the community, is there really a need for VA hospitals and clinics?”

I think they’d first close inpatient services and then eventually close speciality clinics and finally primary care. Obviously would have to provide some sort of veterans insurance equivalent to Medicare or the like. What do you all think? As a provider here, I wouldn’t be surprised at all but who really knows.

Who are your top 3 all time? The 3 players you’re starting a franchise with

For me it’s

  1. Aja Wilson — offensive and defensive skill set are unmatched in my opinion. Her ability to do everything on the floor is INCREDIBLY hard to match. I don’t think any of the previous generations best players touch her.

  2. Breanna Stewart — this is probably a hot take, but in terms of offensive and especially defensive ability, I’ll put Stewy number 2. She can do everything on the court and again, I don’t see any of the previous generations great forwards/bigs (Parker, Jackson, Leslie) guarding her

  3. Maya Moore — in my opinion the best perimeter player I’ve ever seen play at her peak. Taurasi, Bird, Catchings, Swoopes were all amazing (Taurasi was my favorite for the longest time), but I have to give it to Moore that I think her peak was higher. If Aja and Stewy are off the board, give me Moore.

Who’s your top 3?

Stop calling Jaylen Brown a number 2

Whether you like him or not, it is actually one of the worst consistent takes this sub has at calling Jaylen Brown a number 2 and that’s why we shouldn’t take him.

If you don’t want to take him because of the contract, fine, I hear your argument. Jaylen Brown is a finals MVP and 2nd team all NBA player and debatably 1st team. In what world is that not a number 1? More importantly what number 1 are we going to get that’s better than?…Jokic? Ant? Cade? Luka? Wemby? None of them are becoming available.

We can dream on Ant becoming available but please get real. The talk of what qualifies as a number 1 is hilarious. Unless you just don’t think the Hawks should ever have one. JB would be the best player on the Hawks since Dominque, although I do love Iso Joe.

Opened 3 First Partner Series 2…

I guess I’d call it lucky since the first 3 generations are my childhood and the games I played — but also kind of wanted to complete the set. Oh well.

Managed to complete Series 1 on 3 attempts.

We need to pick the best player regardless of position tomorrow

I do not give a shit about fit right now. I think very rarely should a team care about fit unless you have a superstar at one position and it’s going to be such a big clash it just can’t work (even then I’d argue picking the best player).

Teams like OKC, San Antonio, NYC, Boston, etc. can pick a player and be concerned about fit. The most important championship building blocks have been laid.

Saying the Hawks need to pick Mara because he’d pair well next to Okongwu is completely irrelevant. No disrespect, Okongwu does not need to be considered in future plans like that. He is not that guy. We have no player on our roster who is that guy or will even potentially be one of those guys except JJ. This is one of the rare chances you can add immense talent to your team. We are not a very talented team despite what this sub thinks.

Pick the best player, fuck the position. That is where we are in this process

Do yall ever just think how underpaid medicine is compared to some other careers?

I am merely a primary care physician, I am not interventional or surgical — but do you ever just think how underpaid all of medicine is compared to tech, finance, etc.

The problem with medicine is salary has not kept up with the rate of inflation AT ALL. Not even close. The Boomer docs were making bank — now, shit isn’t as sweet anymore.

Please don’t give me that whole medicine is a calling bullshit. Just because something is a calling doesn’t mean it has to be not compensated appropriately. Particularly in the US with loans getting crazier, I feel salaries should match that energy.

Idk just seeing the finance peeps rake in millions makes me wonder…am I alone? Am I out of touch? I need some opinions here

What’s the worst trade you’ve ever made?

We’ve all been there — those trades that freaking keep you up at night that are part of the game.

Part of it is just living and learning. Some of it is just pure stupidity. For me, it was learning the lesson of WR > RB.

I had just drafted Justin Jefferson and he was going off, but I was so thin at RB. Of course I sent JJ and a 1st for Dalvin Cook. Seemed like a no brainer — my team would have the hammer it needed at a position of scarcity. It was my first year playing.

It’s not like Cook was bad for the remainder his time on the Vikings…but then when he went to the Jets just a few years later, it was over and I still had no championships.

What’s your worst trade that still hurts a bit today?

What rookie do you think is going to hit that isn’t even projected to start right now?

Obviously easy to say the 1st and early 2nd round guys will hit, but who is your guy that is nothing more than a projected depth piece/not projected starter for their team that you think is going to go off this year?

For me, it’s Skyler Bell. Checks every athletic measurement, was productive at UCONN, and goes to a team that is mediocre at best in terms of WR talent. He’s old, but that’s my biggest knock.

He’s definitely not expected to start right away with DJ Moore, Khalil Shakir and Joshua Palmer at the helm. But I wouldn’t be shocked if he ends up WR2 due to his versatility.

Who are your non-starter rookies that you think are going off this year?

Any brands similar to Everlane?

Since the news came out that Everlane was sold to SHEIN, I’m not as inclined to purchase their products. One of the great things about Everlane was that it was really geared towards sustainability. It’s hard for me to imagine that this will continue to be the case.

This was by far my favorite brand as it was very minimalist, but also made with super high-quality in my opinion. Two of my favorite things.

Does anyone who is an Everlane fan have a similar brand that they also love? Does anyone know any other brands that they recommend that also have a minimalist vibe? Really appreciate all input.

Who is that one player on your roster you NEED to break out?

I’m sure some people’s dynasty teams are full of stars and don’t really need a significant break out from a player for their season to be fantastic.

But for the rest of us, who is that one player you need to desperately step up for your team to have a chance? Either someone becoming a reliable flex option or someone becoming a flat out game changer — who are you hoping for?

For me, it’s Rome. He can’t just be a solid flex option. I need him to be a legit low end WR1/high end WR2 for my team to have a shot. Who does your team need to step up?

Why is Braelon Allen not on IR?

I’m confused why guys like Nabers, Charbonet, Kittle, Harris, and others are listed as IR but Allen is not.

This should be fixed, unless there’s an explanation I’m missing.

The RB market is so damn difficult right now.

With more and more teams using a committee, the days of most teams having a bell cow seem to be a thing of the past. As a result, it makes it incredibly difficult to find RB’s that you can rely on consistently. It’s almost to the point that one RB spot seems about right for most leagues instead of 2.

Regardless, what players are you trying to acquire? Whether it’s an elite producer, medium producer, or someone you think will break out — who are you trying to trade for?

It’s honestly one of the strongest points of this class.

For me it’s:

  1. Stowers
  2. Sadiq
  3. Delp
  4. Klare
  5. Raridon
    HM: Jolly

Who are you all taking? Who did you make a priority in your drafts? I think with 2nd round picks this is a great draft to even reach for some of these guys due to perceived weakness in other positions.

Can be for any number of reasons — I think there are so many neighborhoods that offer a lot of different things depending on age, stage of life, goals, etc.

Would be interested to hear everyone’s answer! Cheers
