Is it ethical to put a wall around a village?

I like to set up my home in a village and wall the village off to protect the villagers from mobs. The villagers can’t leave, but it’s for their own good

I wish the prison system in America will be very effective at rehabilitation for the prisoners starting today and for this to remain a trend forever

Would anyone want to try LASO together?

I really like to do LASO and with it being a topic, would anyone want to try to do a Halo Campaign on LASO at some point?

Should I upgrade to a 1440p now or wait longer for a 4k monitor?

Specs:

i9-12900k

5070ti

32gb DDR5 ram

I am able to get a 1440p oled monitor now with the money I have but I’m wondering if I should just save up a bit more and get a oled 4k monitor? I know my 5070ti probably won’t be able to have max graphics and do 4k for newer AAA games, but I still enjoy playing some older games that support DLSS so I may be able to do 4k on those.

Do you guys think it’s worth the wait for 4k or is 1440p plenty?

Troubleshooting different network connections using Tailscale

Host: Windows 11 PC

Client: Macbook Pro (MacOS: 15.6.1)

So I've gotten Moonlight streaming working fine with both devices on the same network. I then tried to see if it'll work off different networks, but my client cannot find the host when off network despite both having Tailscale.

- Both devices are on and running and both are connected to the internet (just on different networks).

- Both are confirmed to be running and connected to Tailscale together

- Connection error didn't occur until after they got put on different networks which makes me convinced it's a Tailscale related issue.

I'm wondering if my Macbook has a firewall blocking Tailscale, but in the VPN section it says it has successfully connected to the VPN so I'm not sure what is causing this to not work

Is rain deadly to insects?

For us rain doesn’t affect us much directly but for a bug I imagine it’s like artillery from the heavens. Is a direct hit enough to kill an average bug you think? Do ants have to close the holes to the nest to prevent flooding and everyone dying?

▲ 2 r/Maya

New to rigging in Maya. There a way I can match the joint orientation with the visual transformation of a mesh?

My goal is to have the joint be able to nicely twist the steering wheel, but the steering wheel is slightly twisted forward. It's axis orientation is the same as the world's so I can match it's actual orientation with the joint's. Any way to match the joint to the visual mesh orientation without doing it manually?

Does the type of OS you use matter?

At my school they strongly encourage us to use MacOS as that’s what all the professors use so lessons and troubleshooting will be easier. Do studios also adhere to something like this or does OS not matter at all?

Would you be using the in-built audio?

From what I know, the Steam Frame is just going to have speakers instead of headphones built on it. Do you guys plan on just leaving the audio method just the way it is or will you be using something like headphones or earbuds to listen instead?

How should I prevent this with weight paint?

I think the current weight paint is decent when the arms don't go above the head. But when I go to move the arms above the head, it creates a huge bulge. I'm not sure how to fix this since my current weight paint is decent unless I try extreme poses.

If Genghis Khan came back alive healthy and all that, and we knew it was really him, would we punish him?

Because it was so long ago would we punish him for all the people he killed and raped? Or would we just be chill with him as long as he adheres to the current rules?

[Loved Trope] We follow a character from their birth to their death

Ezio Auditore - in the first game he is introduced we see him during his birth. We continue through the games watching him grow older until finally in Assassins Creed: Embers we see his final moments.

Caesar - in the first movie we meet him shortly after he was born and watch him grow throughout the movies until we see him die in his final movie at the end.
