stripped manifold collector hole on a 80 B, can’t really fit a nut in there any solutions without taking manifold off? just got it back together, temporary solution untill i get long tubes
1980 B, bought this car recently and just realized one of the bolts was missing from the manifolds, i take a closer look and all the threads are gone, could i fix this with a helicoil? or is there a better solution
just picked up this beauty yesterday, runs great other than an intake leak but there is a pretty loud rocker/ top end noise? valve adjustment or something deeper???
so i was riding my 96 kawasaki eliminator 600 to work this morning, i was giving her the balls and all was well until i hit a rough patch and had to ride limiter for a few seconds before i could shift safely, now my bike will bog after 7 grand or half throttle, i’m thinking maybe the coils are going bad, because it was just fine before this, any tbought? it’s got 22k but rides beautifully and has always revved out great, i’m taking it to maine at the end of the month so i want to address this before that
is piston too pitted to reuse? this is my first motor build so i am unsure 200k mile lm7 5.3
5.3 lm7 is this side to side play excessive? rod bearings didn’t look bad and neither does the crank
bello all, i picked up a 2004 5.3 lm7 yesterday and was gonna go through it and reseal it and give it all fresh bearings, ls7 lifters, a tow cam/ or a lumpy cam, new rockers and valve springs, and a high flow oil pump, and anything else it needs to be good of course, was just wondering if i am missing anything thats worth doing to make it as reliable as possible, my original 200k motor is about to crap out and i definetly don’t wanna do this again any time soon, what are some good ways to bullet proof these motors more than they already are??
what could this noise be? 06 5.3 lm7, maybe flywheel bolts?
