This has probably already been asked a lot, but how much control does the Flood have on its infectiousness?

As we all know, breathing in spores is a way to get infected by the Flood. The most famous other way is being hijacked by an Infection Form. But wouldn't being slashed in the face by a Combat Form technically put some of its biomass in the wound? We see them constantly flaking and seemingly shedding parts of their biomass, so I think it's reasonable to assume that receiving an open wound would create at least a risk of infection, but I never found anything that explicitly states that it does. I guess since their "designation" is specifically combat, maybe the only mobile Flood form capable of direct infection are the aptly named Infection Forms, which would explain why the Combat Forms don't infect everything. I guess there's also Pure Forms, which I assume might be able to, but I don't know.

Furthermore, in Halo 2, the station where we first meet the Flood has us fight alongside Elites and Grunts. The Grunts obviously have their breathing masks so they are technically not breathing Flood spores. The Elites have their shield which I believe protects them also. But when their shields are down, shouldn't they basically instantly get infected?

Also, the Gravemind on Delta Halo willingly didn't infect the Chief or the Arbiter because it needed them. But this begs the question: does the "flesh" of a Flood infected being carry the supercells needed to infect, or are they a special secretion of some kind, which the Gravemind decided not to use? Because while the Arbiter has shields, he's being held directly by the Gravemind and still is breathing in the likely contaminated air around him. Since Rtas 'Vadum can still smell the Flood on the station, I assume some must get through the shield. Being in such close proximity and physical contact with the Gravemind should have, by all means, been detrimental, at least, to the Arbiter, no?

Can the Flood decide each time which potential hosts it takes and which it doesn't?

My understanding is that the Flood works as a sort of hivemind, where each bit of biomass responds to a Gravemind. If that's accurate, does it mean the Gravemind has dominion over EVERY aspect of the Flood, including supercells? I assume it does, since otherwise, an Infection Form could have hijacked the Chief or the Arbiter and that'd be that. The Gravemind is impossibly intelligent and complex, so I have no trouble imagining it could very well control each individual bit of the Flood, dictating which potential hosts do get taken and which ones don't.

But there's also a counter argument to this, since while they're technically allied, Master Chief ends up fighting the Flood again, so either each individual sentient form has its own will, or the Gravemind decided willingly to hinder the Chief's progress to stop the firing of Halo, which would be catastrophically counter intuitive for the Flood.

So, I guess my question is: what dictates who and what gets infected by the Flood, and how does it explain each and every case of the Flood having the power to infect something, but not doing it (either through the Gravemind itself not infecting the Chief and the Arbiter, encounters with Infection Forms or breathing spores)?

For context, I only ever played through CE and Halo 2, so if there's more context given in the other games or external media, that's my bad, but through the research I did, I found nothing conclusive, so either we don't know, or I suck at Google. Also sorry if this is a bit all over the place, it happens when I write a lot.

Drow inspired build

I'm working on a Drow (dark elf) inspired build, and while the character I made looks the part, I'm struggling to find ways of including their traits into a decent Elden Ring build.

I am somewhat knowledgeable on the Drow, but I also am not sure how to translate their traits into a game like Elden Ring. I might include poison and stealth, like with the Darkness spell and Assassin's Approach, but I'm unsure what weapons to use, since my main source of knowledge on any Drow with combat prowess is a monk in Dark Alliance 2.

So, if anyone has any ideas what spells (Sorcery or Incantation), Weapons, Talismans, etc. would fit a Drow or be more naturally used by one were they transported into the Lands Between, I would greatly appreciate some tips and insight.

Sorry if the post is kind of all over the place, or rambles a lot.

[Flashing Lights Warning] Extreme flickering with any shader pack on modded 1.20.1 Minecraft

I'm using Oculus to have shaders, and any pack I try looks like this, despite once working perfectly fine. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it or why it happens? I tried looking for it online, but nothing I found comes close to this mess.

Hopefully this fits the sub, but if not, please direct me to one that can help.

Are there any hair mods that feel "vanilla+"?

I've been getting back into Skyrim and I want to add more hair options or maybe fix the base game ones.

The thing is, all I can find are things like KS Hairdo, which feel more appropriate for a shampoo ad than the harsh and rough land of Skyrim.

So my question is: Are there any "lore friendly" hair mods? Something that either adds, changes (or both!) hair options, without making you like a very well kept doll?

I know that installing something like the Convergence Mod and playing online will likely get you banned for massively altered game files, but are there any specific mods or mod types that are 100% safe or close to that level?

I mean, take any mod that changes a texture or a model slightly, like this for example. It changes the appearance of some armor pieces. Being a purely cosmetic change would make it only be different in my game, wouldn't affect anyone else and doesn't change anything but the look of a few specific things. Stats are the same, collisions or hitboxes have no reason to change and it only affects a few textures/models in my game.

Would that get flagged as cheating and get you banned if you're online? Follow-up question, if you play offline, does it still check and if so, will it ban you even if you remove the mod files before going back online?

I'm sure this question got asked 1000 times already, but I genuinely cannot find any solid answers anywhere. Some people say visual mods are fine, others say any mods at all is insta-ban, but then I've seen people play randomizers and such while online and not get banned, even without Seamless Coop installed, so at this point I have absolutely no clue what's true.

I guess my final question is: Are there any kinds of mods or specific mods you can install and use while online without getting banned, or is it true that adding anything to the Elden Ring game files folder will get you banned nearly instantly?

Having scalpers buy a high amount of the product being sold causes a lot more talk around said product and encourages people to purchase urgently to avoid higher prices off-market.

New releases are sold out instantly to boost advertising and force people who want to pay the normal price to buy quicker, making a lot mote people learn about the product and buy it.

The portion bought by scalpers is slowly returned to the company to be resold after enough people came up to buy on the site.
