I work a cushy office job but today I came in at 6am

And I shall dub it "hi-viz hour".

At first I thought it was just my train, but then as we pulled into Central all the platforms and train windows were literally glowing flouro orange and yellow.

I know for lots of you that's just every day but for me it was a novelty.

Need to replace my dog nail grinder, recommendations please?

I've had an older Dremel dog nail grinder for many years and it is time to replace it.

I see that there are quite a few options these days in the Australian market, so looking for recommendations please.

Ideally something quieter because he's anxious, but most importantly needs to be powerful enough to grind my big boy's very big nails.

Most of them seem to be USB rechargeable these days, I would like that.

Thanks

Heads up: Your confidential company information is visible on the train

I'm a commuter in Sydney. In the past couple of months on the trains I've seen confidential documents from Deloitte and PWC being worked on by people beside me. I'm not trying to see this information, it's just in my line of sight.

But the winner has got to be the <redacted> intern this morning on the crowded Metro who had no elbow space to work at waist height, so was holding his laptop up high in full view of everyone, to work on his data spreadsheet for <redacted> and have Teams chats with <redacted>. Please don't do that.

Edit: redacted some information, forgot how bloodthirsty this subreddit is

[TOMT] A short video that I saw on Reddit recently, joke about aging, set on a bus.

Looking for this short video. Youngish Middle aged guy on bus thinks that young lady is flirting with him but actually she's just offering him a seat. In the next shot he looks a lot older.

Seen recently on Reddit ad in May or June.

I think the actors may have been Asian if that helps.

Landlord or tenant...Who is responsible for pest control e.g. cockroaches?

I know that pests are a part of life and not *necessarily* a sign of poor behaviour on anyone's part. Especially near bush areas etc.

But for ongoing control of pests like cockroaches, is the landlord or the tenant responsible?

Edit: NSW. And cockroach bait was laid in between tenants by the landlord. American cockroach not the infamous German ones.

Celia Pacquola fan club

I already liked Celia from Utopia and Thank God You're Here. But after only a couple of episodes of Taskmaster I can now say that I'm a fan.

She's just got a great energy and is happy to be there, as well as having great jokes with quick wit, and light bullying of both Toms.

I've always heard it pronounced similar to "Hammin".

But I just watched the Purim episode of Nobody Wants This, and they were all pronouncing it like "Haymen".

Also I call the food like "hammintassen" not "haymentassen".

How do you pronounce it?

This is a pretty straightforward decision! Given that the car wash is only 50 meters away, I'd recommend just driving the car directly there.

Here's why:

It's essentially the same trip — You need to drive the car through the car wash anyway, so there's no benefit to walking ahead and then coming back to drive it. 50 meters is negligible — That's about a 30-60 second walk, but driving it takes roughly the same amount of time once you factor in starting the car and parking. Less hassle — Walking means you'd have to return to where the car is parked, get in, and drive it through. Just driving straight there eliminates the extra trip. The only scenario where walking might make sense is if there's a specific reason you'd want to be at the car wash entrance before the car arrives (like checking availability, paying upfront, or if the car wash has a queue system). Otherwise, save yourself the extra walking and just drive the car there directly.

Is there anything specific about the car wash setup that makes you wonder about this?
