How can I be like the effortlessly beautiful hijabis?

Growing up, I was never the "girly" type, but it never really bothered me. I knew I was smart and had a lot going for me. Now that I’m out of uni, though, I’ve started feeling really "masculine."

My partner loves me as I am, but I can’t stop comparing myself to the Hijabis I see on Instagram. They look so put-together with their effortless makeup, great style, and photogenic faces. Meanwhile, I just feel frumpy.

I take good care of my body and workout, but anything traditionally feminine just doesn't come naturally to me. I wear baggy clothes, I don't know the first thing about makeup, and I hate seeing photos of myself, my hands arent long or pretty. It’s really starting to mess with my self-esteem.

I’d love to tap into my feminine side, but I’m scared of losing who I am. I honestly can’t tell if I genuinely want this change, or if social media is just making me feel like I need to fit in.

I would appreciate any advice. How do I become more feminine? Please give me tips

The Guardian’s review of Lost Weekend confirms the long-rumored engagement and subsequent breakup of Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal. On the upcoming album, Phoebe also shades Gracie Abrams for copying her and dating her ex, Paul Mescal.

For some context, Gracie Abrams has been an outspoken fan of Phoebe Bridgers since she was 13, even declaring Bridgers "the songwriter of a generation" and opening for her on tour. Fans have long compared the two artists, a connection Gracie leaned into when she used a bedroom set prop in a performance featuring bedframe/bedsheets identical to the ones in Phoebe's childhood bedroom.

Phoebe publically called Gracie out on her upcoming album, a move likely sparked by Gracie revealing details about Phoebe’s high-profile relationship with Paul Mescal in her album "The Secret of Us" a relationship that ended following reports of Phoebe's affair with Bo Burnham, with the latter also confirmed on Lost Weekend.

Shabjdeed diss track against Saint Levant

Did anyone listen to SLV? Shabjdeed (Palestinian rapper) is basically criticizing Saint Levant for positioning himself as the global face of Palestine in the music industry/west, while most of his discography is centered on romance and women, and not actually about the cause. So he's calling him a sellout and capitalizing on his identity without actual advocacy about the lived experience of everyday Palestinians. Apparently, what triggered this was the fact that Saint Levant scheduled a concert for the same day as him in Amman lmao

Can anyone recommend a well-written colorwork mitten pattern?

I want to knit something similar to the Alma Mitten, no matter what it looks like, as long as it's clear and easy to understand. I heard that the Alma isn't written that well. Also, I'm down to discover more patterns

What happened to Sarde After Dinner?

When the podcast was on, I always wondered whether mouin and medea were dating, especially considering the big age gap and the fact that he lived at her house, iirc? I think I saw someone say that they broke up, and that's why they stopped posting and abandoned the podcast. I would love it if someone could confirm or deny any of these rumors.

To be honest, I wasn't a fan. I always found mouin to be pretentious and medea to be very classist and arrogant. They didn't represent the average lebanese citizen.Their questions were very dumb and it's clear they never researched before interviewing their guests. Also, I thought they were disingenuous because they would block anyone who criticized them or called out the fact they were on saudi/mbc payroll when they claimed to be free and "independent" media.

Struggling with structuring upper body days, and the insane routine my gym PT suggested.

I've been strength training for 1 year now. The other day, I was talking to the gym's PT. I told her that I don't know how to structure my upper body days, I know what the main lifts I need to do (with emphasis on back), but I have no idea how to incorporate arms and shoulders into it logically. And I told her I feel like I'm lagging on the arms part. I also explained that I was trying to hit each muscle group twice per week.

She dismissed all of that and suggested a chest/back day and arms/shoulders day. The INSANE part is that she suggested I do 4 back exercises and 3 chest exercises on the same day. For the other day, 5 shoulders exercises and 4 arms (2 different exercises for isolating triceps and 2 exercises for biceps)

Chest/back:

  1. Lat pulldown

  2. Seated cable rows

  3. Face pulls

  4. Single arm dumbbells rows

  5. Bench press

  6. Incline bench press

  7. Machine chest press

Arms/shoulders:

  1. Shoulder press

  2. Lateral raises

  3. Front lateral raises

  4. Upright barbell row

  5. Tricep ex #1

  6. Tricep ex # 2

  7. Bicep ex # 1

  8. Bicep ex # 2

  9. Face pulls for shoulder

Guys, please tell me that this is insane BS, right? I tried the arms and shoulders routine, and I felt like I was on the verge of injury. I just didn't want to disagree with her because she's certified and like it felt wrong. I would appreciate it if someone could share their upper body routine with me because there's no way in hell I will follow this.

Who's your Phoebe?

I know a lot of us relate to the song Phoebe, and some of you might find it sad, but I personally find it really empowering. I sometimes struggle with feeling like i don't fit in and feeling weird or not attractive enough. That's why I resonate with the message behind the song Phoebe. I might not be the most attractive, but I have a lot of wonderful qualities that I value personally not related to looks, similar to Phoebe Buffay.

On that note, a while back, I compiled a list of creative people who inspire me so that on the days I feel down about myself, I remind myself of what really matters to me.

Some of these women include Phoebe Bridgers, Chappell Roan, Rosalia, Rama Duwaji, Audrey Hobert, Hayley Williams, and the designer Alexander Mcqueen. There are many more that I forgot. I just love creative people or people who aren't conformists.

Who is your Phoebe?

Imaginary Friend by Gracie Abrams cowritten with Paul Mescal is a Revolution 0 reference?

I want to hear everyone's thoughts. Gracie's song is about the grief of a past lover who still lives on your mind. It's cowritten with Paul Mescal, and obviously, I can't help but think the title is derived from the first line in Revolution 0, which is speculated to be about Phoebe's former relationship with Paul Mescal. Also, we do know that Gracie is/was a huge Phoebe fangirl, so I don't think this is far-fetched.

Now that the years-long anticipation has died and the expectations are more realistic, does anyone else find themselves enjoying Lost Boys more?

I'm one of those people who had been waiting for new music for a while, with Punisher being my comfort album. I was super excited to hear Lost Boys, and I liked it on the first listen, but i wasn't obsessed. I took a break from it, but now, coming back with no expectations, it feels so fresh, and the more I listen to it, the more i find myself appreciating it. I’m excited for whatever direction the new album takes!

Dumped islanders

How do the producers prepare the islanders for the outside world? Especially in this case when they're getting so much hate. I wonder if any previous islanders have talked about this?

Let's talk aesthetics. Are there any looks (from fashion/film/drag etc.) that you would love to see Chappell take inspo from?

I would love to see inspo/moodboard

First red velvet cake attempt questions

I'm a new baker. For my first red velvet cake attempt, I followed the Divas Can Cook recipe. For the buttermilk, I made a substitute using the vinegar method. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. There weren't many details about oven temperature or how long to mix everything with an electric mixer.

In terms of taste, the results were satisfactory. However, a few things happened, amd I would appreciate any help or suggestions:

  1. The cake didn't rise properly. I've seen people have the middle sink, but I think I had the opposite problem. The cake rose mostly in the middle, while the sides didn't rise as much. After I took it out of the oven and let it cool, the middle sank back down, so the top ended up looking level. The cake turned out thinner than I expected. I'm not sure if this was because the oven temperature was too low or if something happened during preparation.

  2. The color turned out darker than I expected.

  3. The cream cheese frosting was much thinner than I thought it would be. It wasn't very creamy, although it tasted good. I used spreadable cream cheese, and I softened the butter in the microwave. It melted in the middle?

  4. In the image attached, I think the cake was fully cooked, although it may look underbaked because the frosting melted.

  5. The cake was also too thin to slice horizontally and separate into layers. Instead, I ended up cutting it in half and stacking the two semicircles on top of each other.

There's no way people actually think Brooke Monk's boyfriend is more attractive than her

I'm gonna guess it's incels who think being blonde and having blue eyes means youre peak attractiveness
