Looking for bassets in my area

Good lord. The only thing I will say that Bishop was listed as a basset / pit, however he just looks like a pit with dwarfism and a leg deformity.

My cattle/dane and her basset sister

Never thought I would own either of these dogs! Though I will say, we are going to avoid getting another herding dog until after we move into a place with a yard. Basset couldn’t care less about the no yard, but of course my cattle dog needs that extra space. We didn’t know her breed when we first got her and we also were first time dog owners who didn’t know better… but I try extra hard to get all her cattle dog energy out despite not having a yard. Luckily her dane side has significantly slowed her down compared to some cattle dogs Ive met!

We are looking forward to moving into a house sitting on many acres at the end of this year❤️ There are cows on the property I am sure she will enjoy, and a red heeler that lives there too.

Need help deciding what to do

I have had bangs my WHOLE life. Minus COVID quarantine when everything was closed.

I get my bangs trimmed every 6-9 weeks. Lately..I just am no longer in love with my bangs. I had a recent terrible bang trim and they were cut way too far back and blunt giving me the appearance of a bowl cut. I am deciding if I want to either grow out my bangs entirely or grow them out to chin length and get them recut. Regardless, I am super unhappy with the way they look right now.

I have zero idea what to do with them till I decide to continue growing them or re-chop them. I don’t know how to braid or style my hair. I don’t know how to learn or what to do.

They get super greasy and just fall flat. I have a cowlick up there which picks my bangs up a little, but if I don’t wash and blowdry them everyday, I look like a greasy middle schooler. I shampooed and conditioned yesterday and they looked like this this morning. I am not sure if this is the result of a series of bad bang trims or if I am just growing out of my love of bangs. Giving my hair the benefit of the doubt by saying it is also summer and HOT.

They used to look so good! I had one bang trim about a year ago where they were accidentally cut super straight-line blunt and I guess they never recovered. I have NO IDEA why stylist decided to “add” more hair to my bangs and cut further back.

guess it is hard to say if I will look good without bangs because I do not feel comfortable posting my face online, but I have gotten surgery that has affected my face shape and smile since my bangs grew out during COVID so I have zero idea how I would look without bangs. Maybe I am just venting or looking for thoughts and opinions. Or encouragement that my hair will grow back. But what the heck do I do in the meantime to minimize the bowl-cutty-ness?

i look like a mushroom yall😭

I got a haircut and asked for face framing. It looked so bad so the stylist cut the hair to the same length as my bangs. Guys WTH!! Now i have bowl cut looking bangs. They are so far back it is not even funny.

WHAT DO I DOOO???

I think I am going to let my bangs grow out and then just get them completely re-cut not including the parts that is cut way too far back. I was so cute before now i look like rowley bruh😭

This is my hair post shampoo and brush. This is my bangs looking good. Wondering if there is anything else to alleviate the bowl cut-ness of this haircut or if my best option is just letting it all grow out.

How common are mastiffs in mixes?

This is Parona. Her embark shows 5% mastiff. I was wondering if this is common. Im completely baffled as to where the mastiff comes from. She doesn’t present mastiff at all in my opinion! She came from a county municipal shelter

My dane apparently?

Just got my girl’s DNA test and shes 13% dane. According to Embark, Parent 1 was ACD/Dane and Parent 2 was ACD/Golden.

Seeing dane was so surprising. Shes 60lbs and 2 years old. I guess it explains her long legs and deep chest. Very curious if others can see other dane traits in her.

Ive always wanted a dane and I guess i have one!

You guys like my golden?

Golden retriever was very surprising for her. According to embark, parent 1 was ACD/golden and parent 2 was ACD/Dane.

Welcome Parona to the golden family I guess 😂

I guess I am an ACD owner!

Super excited to finally get Parona’s results. We originally thought pointer mix because of her long legs and ticking. We also thought she might have lab or husky (long hair + curled tail). She is exactly 60lbs.

The ACD wasn’t surprising. We figured if she wasn’t pointer she likely got the blue from cattle dog. Very surprised about the golden retriever and dane…and what the heck is mastiff doing in there?? We are curious where she gets her black coat. The dane explains her long legs and deep chest. She is also extremely long and lean. The golden and pyr explain her coat texture and fur length.

The supermutt is pittie/rottweiler/border collie.

Mystery girl no longer a mystery!

Super excited to finally get Parona’s results. We originally thought pointer mix because of her long legs and ticking. We also thought she might have lab or husky (long hair + curled tail). She is exactly 60lbs. Very light on her feet. Protective but not aggressive. Mouthy and treat motivated.

We didn’t expect any of this!

She has TONS of pure german shepherds in her relatives tab that all have ~20% of shared DNA. There are two dogs who have ~30% of shared DNA from cattle/dane side of the family who are the same age and from the same area. We reached out to see if we can set up a playdate.

Puppy photos included. She will be 2 on June 28th!

She is a very pretty lady and I love her. Curious on everyone’s thoughts. Wondering if anyone can see the mastiff 😂
