Laptop suggestions for first year university student

I’m looking into getting a laptop for university (preferably apple), I’ll be an international relations major. So my first year will consist of economics both semesters, anthropology, data science, and geography. I was thinking of getting the MacBook Air, but wanted to hear any suggestions or what is required for it. I’ve always used apple products, so im more familiar with them which is why I was thinking of purchasing an apple laptop in the first place.

MacBook Air or MacBook Neo for University

I'll be starting my first year at university this fall, and my major is centred very much around writing essays, and lots to do with typing (as i'm sure most majors are like). Just for reference, I’m an international relations major (pre law). That being said, I'm looking into getting something lightweight (preferably 13-15 inches) which will fit in my bag. I've grown up using apple products, and my desktop was apple before as well.
Because I want something lightweight, I know the MacBook Pro is definitely not an option. So I'm gravitating more towards the MacBook Air, except I'm debating between the MacBook Air or the MacBook Neo. I heard stuff about not being able to play games or do editing on the MacBook Neo, but I don't do that anyways so it's not a concern. Which one would be better for university?

Admission

I got into UofC for early admission for international relations. They used my math 20-1, social 20-1, science 20, and English 30-1 grades for it. When they’ll be looking at my grade 12 marks, will they look at the same courses that were used to apply with? Of course they’ll look at my English 30-1, but what about the other courses? And do they use an option as well to evaluate it?

I need friendship advice on my best friend who’s started to vape

I need advice regarding my friendship with my best friend. For context, we’re both 17 years old, and have been friends for almost 5 almost years (since grade 8). Last year, she went to a party where she had alcohol for the first time. I felt a little iffy about it but it was whatever. But lately, whenever we talk about summer plans she’ll always bring up alcohol, and wanting every activity we do to centre around it. I’ve never drank before, and I don’t plan on doing it at least till after high school. But the drinking was really not that much, what bothered me was when she brought up vaping.

Since middle school, we’ve always collectively agreed that vaping was bad and we both stood on it, never planning to do it. I see how addicted kids at school get to it, and how they can’t live without it. It also gets so annoying when you just want to use the washroom at school, but a group of girls are there vaping and or occupying a stall to vape. Just yesterday, she told me she started to vape and had bought one, but didn’t wanna get addicted so she gave it away, but then decided to get another one again. For me, both our parents have so much trust in us, and heavily look down upon vaping which is what we agree with. My parents love my best friend like their daughter, and never question when we go out together. But with this vaping thing going on, i genuinely feel like im breaking my parents trust, especially with how much they love my best friend. Not just that, but her mom trusts me so much as well, and I feel like I’d be letting her mother down if she were to find out her daughter had picked up on it. I think what really gets me about this, is the fact my best friend completely looked down on vaping and would shit on it, just for her to pick it up the next week.

I’ve tried to communicate with her about this, and how I really am scared she’ll get addicted to it, but she just called me judgemental and said it’s her life, and that she wants a best friend who’ll do these type of things with her and won’t be a goody two shoes. My thing is, im not going to rat my best friend out, but I also don’t want to hang without someone who’s definition of fun is to have nicotine and alcohol in every activity we do.

I love my best friend to pieces, and my feelings are coming from a place of concern. Like our parents have so much trust in us, they blindly trust us and have never stopped us from going out, and if they were to find out, im just really scared what could happen. I feel so conflicted.

Science option

I’m an international relations major, and was wondering about the classes i need. They haven’t updated their degree guide, but it says i need to take a science option, which i have for my fall semester. Do i also need to take another science option for winter semester as well? Or do i only need to take a science option for one semester?

Course Registration

I’ll be starting this fall in international relations, and im trying to do add courses to my cart. Based on my degree guide for first year, i need to take ECON 201 in fall semester and ECON 203 in the winter. I have Econ 201 which wasn’t a problem to add to my cart. But when I tried to add ECON 203 and validate it, it said i need a pre requisite for it, and didn’t let me take it. Im worried because i ECON 203 is a required class, and i want to get it done in my first year. Course registration also opens soon, so i want to make sure i have all my courses validated in my cart. I’m not sure what to do as i need to take ECON 203, and it says i need to register for my fall and winter semester classes at the same time, so I can’t even add my Econ 203 after I have the credits from Econ 201.

International Relations

Course registration opens a week from now, and i had a question regarding choosing my courses and options. I know the required courses i need to take, but my degree guide says I’ll need to take a language as well. I was thinking of taking Spanish or French, but it says that certain language options are limited or that I might not meet the requirements for taking it.

Question:
I was wondering what are the language options available for first year students? And when registering for courses, is there a number or something for that specific language option? For example, I’ll be needing to take anthropology 203 for one of my required courses. So when registering for a language, how do I know which one is applicable for first year students?

Using medicube pore pads in addition to my skincare routine

I just bought the medicube zero pore pads yesterday, and I've heard that using them 2-3 times a week is good and not every day. That being said, im aware these pads can cause break outs and such. Which is why I was wondering, on the days where I am not using the pore pads, is it okay to use the ordinary hylaronic acid serum paired with the niacinamide serum from them as well? I'm not too sure if I should use my skincare after using the pads, which was why I was wondering if the ordinary products would pair well with the pads. I also use the cera ve moisturizing lotion along with it.
