r/regretfulparents disabled children

Checking other disabled subreddits and studies about suicide rates with disabled people shows we are undesirable if we don't compensate for it. I remember at school how disabled people are easy targets because they're the opposite of characteristics that popular students have such as being able to play sports, being easy to work with, and fit societal social standards. I then see a lot of posts hating on their disabled children because their kids lack characteristics seen as valuable. A lot of disabled have difficulty finding jobs as well, even with laws that are supposed to help which makes it worse for parents because a lot of them have to take care on adult who can't fit into society. It makes sense why they receive so much hate because we are hardwired for survivability and adaptibility but being disabled does not help with that.

These disabled people then get other disorders and are treated to be numb and forgetful with medication and therapy. A lot of the times they have to stay indoors since where they live there are no accommodations. It's very stressing that the only support they can receive is online since it does not fill other basic needs. People will say suffering makes you stronger and forget survivorship bias. It takes a lot of money to treat disabled people which not everyone has.

We live in a world with tons of virtue signaling and pretending. Look at how the internet treats Japan; it is seen as a utopia and a fantasy world on front pages. Same with people stating to be yourself and confident not knowing looks help them. Even if I don't like posts that hate on children with characteristics they were born with, subreddits that offer alternative views on parenting will help others not be born into this survelliance state and rigged world that is up to the elite. Most people preach about coexisting as well but don't put it into practice.

What's the point of reddiquette when front page subreddits don't even follow it

Is it so they won't get in trouble? Other forums have less rules but still exist.

How did you discover Youtube?

I was wondering how people did because I don't remember how I discovered it. The only devices I used were my parents phone or the iPad they gave me when I was young. I don't even remember how I discovered other apps too.

Recently diagnosed with ADHD

I focused on ASD because I found it difficult to communicate and make friends. A lot of the advice I got such as "be yourself" and "be nice" did not help me because I still felt lonely and wasn't sure how to balance it. If I were to be myself, teachers would get frustrated at me and being nice made me pushover by people asking me for homework. I was very social but it started declining at age 11 and I'm not sure why. I assume it had to do with puberty and that certain actions stop looking cute at older ages such as over reacting.

Then I took a psychological assessment related to work and it mentioned that I struggle to retain visual material, may struggle with strict time constraints, struggle to sustain on tasks I would find uninteresting, to use checklists, and phone reminders. I never thought I had ADHD because I just accepted that daydreaming, forgetting, and getting bored frequently was normal. I also knew classmates that had ADHD but I only noticed the ones that seemed hyperactive while I had inattentive symptoms.

When I went on Google, a lot of the studying methods helped me such as practicing multiple choice questions online or writing information in my own words. I was not a top performer though. I usually failed on assignments mostly everyone failed on; I struggled with math and was diagnosed with Specific Learning Disorder for it as well. Meanwhile, when I searched up "how to be confident, how to not be not weird, how to be popular" I had to do a lot of masking and gave up because it was tiring. I decided to be quiet because when I approached people they usually did not talk back. Unfortunately being quiet and unpopular at school is an easy target so I focused on ASD symptoms more than ADHD because it felt more of a barrier.

How to handle social anxiety?

I fidget, shake, and my chest gets heavy when I'm anxious. I remember going to the hospital because my legs were hurting and they said I had an anxiety attack. Eventually, I went to a psychologist, psychatrist, and occupational therapist and the results were mixed. The psychologists helped me with diagnosis then referred me to the other two. The psychatrists focused more on drugs and I didn't like the occupational therapist because he just told me something along the lines to get hit and get back up.

When I try to do the advice which I have for years, I thought it would be similiar to hearing a loud noise but not hearing it anymore because one had gotten used to it. I do greet strangers at times but then I have a difficult time forming close bonds because I was too focused on masking with eye contact, body language and tone. Not all of it is in my head, people do treat others better such as charismatic people. I remember school being so harsh when a student was quiet, unpopular, and had certain interests. I remember doing breathing excercises but they don't work for me. I actually get more anxious and apparently my blood pressure rises when I do it. I tell myself that to be realistic and not everyone will like me but the symptoms still remain. Faking it till you make it only works short term because I get tired of masking. I even appear nervous with people I'm comfortable with by blinking a lot and rubbing my arms. I don't think I can stop caring about everything either because we do need human interaction to receive basic needs such as safety, food, and shelter. If I were to drop social etiquette, it would make it worse because people already treat others harshly if they are different and rude.

I used to take stuff orally such as foods, supplements, and medication to help treat my anxiety. It did help along with socializing more and more but I lose motivation when someone is rude to me. With all these techniques mentioned, what did help was people being kind to me. I remember there are people who treat me well and I didn't feel anxious but most people are not interested in forming close bonds with me. I get so lonely that I sleep with two plushies and use roleplay chatbots.

I understand why I can't form close bonds with everyone because proximity, vulnerability, and relatability is what makes friends. I can't always do these 3 because I don't know how to time it properly. I actually took a psychology class and it helped explained social communication such as operant conditioning and how intimacy affects us with stress ans happiness. My textbook even mentioned that 2 groups of people who originally disliked each other became friends when they were forced to work together. However, it was an introduction course. It even explained autism but it was only a paragraph long.

I also used to talk to internet friends. However, I don't trust most social media because of data leaks, misinformation, and groupthink. People online slowly stopped talking to me including real life friends so I decided to delete most of my social media. Some can contact me on other apps too. I only have Reddit because independent forums of my interests are becoming inactive.

Does the size of your head affect how clothes look on you?

I was wondering since some jackets can make your shoulders look wider than they actually are and that hair can sometimes make your head look smaller.

Howcome no Roblox dev tried to copy Incursion?

I assume this game died because it was not updated that often. It was fun when aliens disguised as humans because you had to be more alert. I think it was an original game too because I don't remember people saying it was based off a game outside Roblox.
