I got a big bag of slide mounts from a garage sale a few years ago. I’ve been struggling what to do with them, since I don’t shoot film (the price of film these days, sheesh); but I had an idea to turn them into a pocket/keychain size viewfinder that I could easily remake if it broke.

The thread is spaced exactly on the thirds, using a ruler with 1/64th inch ticks.

I used a slide mount, red thread, and superglue; as well as parchment paper to keep it from sticking to my desk and fingers.

I asked him how much for the cassette and that I was trying to regrow my physical music collection again. He said for a fellow punk music lover, it’s free. The dude was awesome, we traded stories for about 20 minutes. He apparently had gotten this tape in Chicago in the late 80s because they didn’t have it at any of the music stores here (a super conservative city). I tried to give him some cash, but he just refused and said, “just enjoy it, man”. What a fucking legend! 🖤🖤🖤

I collect for me and only like to get what I like, not what’s popular and absolutely not as an “investment”. So today was a real dream come true. I honestly still can’t believe my luck with the packaged cars (20 for all 14). I ended up spending 25.75 on everything, but it was worthh every penny. 🥹 I almost started crying when I came across the AE86, the Pizza Planet truck, and the Enterprise.

Ever since I was little I always liked fashion, but growing up as a “boy” through the 90s in the Midwest, that wasn’t something that was particularly supported. But after decades of hiding my identity and my passions, I’m so excited to start learning to alter and make my own clothes. I can’t wait to finally be able to express and present my truest self.

My partner snuck this into the cart for me while we were shopping. She’s the best!

But I wanted to use the original colors. Partly out of respect of the original designer, but mostly as a challenge.

I also added a symbol I saw used for gynesexuality, as well as, a lavender color as an homage to the 2017 Barker 9-Stripe flag.

The second image is with the brown and lavender flipped.

I hand stitched the ABC with a “follow the bouncing ball” idea to spell out ACAB. But I feel like it’s not as understandable as I thought it would be.

I had thought about having the bird say, “follow the bouncing ball”, but thought that it might be too forced. Idk… thoughts?
