Has anyone actually downloaded this app to their personal device? Work phones don't count, of course you'd have a work app on that.

I was reading the AHS Info email from Friday and they're really pushing it and even making it seem like it's in wide use. I thought I'd ask if it is.

(My own stance is that if they want a work anything on my personal device, they can pay my phone bill each month. No? Then stuff your app.)

My half brother died a couple years ago. We were close when I was a kid (he was a lot older), but drifted as he fell deeper into addiction. After dad died (our common parent), the only thing he wanted from us was money to feed said addiction, so my mom and I told him that we wouldn't give him any and he disappeared from our lives. We always told him he was welcome to come visit, we would take him out for a meal, or we'd even pay his bills directly to who he owed money... but he never took us up on that, he just wanted cash.

When he died his daughter (~30 yo) told my mom via fb messenger. She told a 70 something woman who had consistently told her over the years that she didn't use fb... via fb. My mom has always asked that we pick up the phone, but she'll accept a regular text and call you herself. This girl was already typing it out and she couldn't be bothered to open her message app rather than fb. We found out 3 weeks later because my step dad happened to open fb & saw the notification before switching to his own profile.

I was hurt. Not that she didn't tell me herself, I get that she had limited bandwidth and expected that my mom would tell me. But I missed saying a proper goodbye to my brother because her Gen z ass couldn't be bothered to switch apps. Add this to the fact that I made her a baby blanket for her son (with her input, I asked about colours & technique) and never got a thank you. She didn't even meet with me to get it - she kept putting me off & I finally dropped it off on her doorstep.

So, I quietly removed her from my fb. No announcement, no message to tell her what I thought. Just delete friend. I didn't even tell my mom (who is also still hurt and hasn't heard from her despite reaching out). Today I got a friend request from her. Fuck that. I'm leaving it. I'm not declining, I'm just ignoring it. I'm not giving her any more attention than venting to you guys.
