It's a constant horror to me how little people understand of the highway code. They think it's OK to go on red/amber, they stop at the side of the road at night and leave their headlights on, they use the left lane to turn right out of a one way street, they're in single file 300 yards before the merge... am I getting old or what
Hey everyone.
Some of you may have noticed that we no longer allow direct crossposts from r/interestingasfuck or r/Damnthatsinteresting due to the sheer amount of reposts from those subs. Nobody has complained so we'll keep it in place and continue to monitor it. It has removed about 90% of our workload, which was getting pretty bloody boring. For those who haven't noticed, read the first paragraph again.
You're welcome to save the content and upload it directly here as a fresh post, provided it follows our rules and you have checked it hasn't been posted recently.
It has saved a lot of work on our end, which is handy as we don't want to do any.
Something fun: Link to your Reddit profile and ask ChatGPT to summarise your personality based in your Reddit account. Add 'don't be sycophantic' to make its summary more honest.
In November 2014, at The Congleton Chronicle, a placeholder advert wasn't changed and was sent to the printers, with the mistake not being found until after distribution. A fresh newspaper had to be quickly compiled, and all newspapers were recalled.
Staff had to manually visit every shop in the night and early morning to retrieve every single offending copy which had already left the printers.
They largely succeeded, leaving only a few errant copies out in the wild (I have one).
The debacle cost the owner/editor an estimated £45,000. Nobody was sacked.
