Best way to connect a European VoIP number to GoHighLevel , port to Twilio (BYOT) or keep provider + sync call data?
Hi all , looking for input from anyone who's wired up GHL telephony for a non-US number.
I will put you in situation: Small business in the EU, using GoHighLevel as CRM. We have an existing European non-geographic business number (voice-only) that we want to keep. Our provider runs on a solid regional VoIP platform with native call queues (real hold queue + stats) and IVR menus.
Two requirements from the owner:
- A proper call queue (waiting list with hold/queue statistics) + IVR menu
- Full call history logged per lead inside GHL (calls, outcome, duration, ideally AI transcript/summary)
He does not care about dialing from inside GHL — reps can keep calling from the provider's softphone.
The two paths I'm weighing:
- A) Port the number into our own Twilio account, connect to GHL (BYOT). Gets calling inside GHL, but GHL's dialer has no true multi-line queue, and porting an international number is weeks of paperwork + regulatory bundle.
- B) Keep the current provider, sync call data into GHL via webhook → n8n → GHL's "Log External Call" action. Keeps the strong native queue/IVR, no porting risk, and still surfaces full call history in GHL.
Given he wants queue + IVR + per-lead history, but not in-app dialing, I'm leaning hard toward B. Am I missing anything? Anyone regret going one way or the other? Any gotchas with the Log External Call webhook or n8n sync at volume?
Thanks!
