The court's noble footmen prepared to defend the land

The dirty down rust seems to absorb a lot of the light in the pictures, I did some mild converstions to give them a tiny bit more armor. The standard is actually wearing one of the old 90's skeleton kit helmets that I cut the back out of, used some of the heads from the bat rider kit for more helmets.

Finished Kasrkin in glorious metal

Starring Jason Statham, who is too cool to wear his optic enhancing protective headgear because he likes the feel of the wind on his ears. I think I'm slowly getting closer and closer to actually pulling off the plasma glow...I'll get it eventually.

Kasrkin ready to Kasr for their kin.

Finished off the squad's special weapons and leader, got em all based. I bought these right away when they came out, and they've patiently waited all these years for me to start painting again. Hope I did them justice.

Next companion should be a dog.

And then they can add skins for big cats or alligators, or whatever. Where the hell is our fantasy Dogmeat? Gina. You gotta get on this.

For gear, just give them the slots for current gear, rings etc, don't need the weapon lines, maybe just do 5 abilities each for heal, tank and dps trees to make up for no mages and fighters guild lines etc. but if they absolutely need to match the existing format, work it into the storyline why your exceptional pet can cast spells in a fantasy world.

Sand and Bone terrain ready to go

Statue is my first attempt at OSL and I feel pretty decent about it, probably going to try it more often now. I've got both ghoul spearheads done now, so I just need to get in some games.

First pieces of a very meager collection of fantasy terrain finished.

Still need to paint the vampires, and the very unexciting Stormcast models, but, the terrain is ready to go. First attempt at OSL on the statue, pretty happy with it.

Not my best work, but I wanted to share

Batch painted the 7 hellgunners, still have the assault weapons and sgt to finish, and I need to add some greenery to the bases when they are all done, but I put in 8 hours this Saturday and wanted to share. I really do prefer painting the older metal sculpts

u/Naquasivesh — 14 days ago

For all the detail of the new plastic kits, I think I prefer the old metal ones.

I think the old metal kit came with 7 hellfire lasguns, a flamer, a grenade launcher and a sgt w pistol and power sword (this model is amazing and will be getting a full character treatment) I spent about 8 hours on saturday batch painting the 7 lasgunners, I only have 4 sculpts though so didn't bother with 3 of them for photos. Forgive the quality, I'm still working on how to get a decent photo....

Shikaka

Still need to finish the base, and get better lighting on it for a real picture, but I was so excited to show her off, such a noble steed.

Villain Vibes

Command models for my 3rd edition Cadians, love the amount of personality in the sculpts on these, the commander's rigid posture, the hunched over psyker looks like he's about to run and the commissar is just not having any of this nonsense. Her gun is so silly though, where does the energy clip go? Whats the weird slide thingy on the side for?

Cartoon Villain Tropes

I feel like there is a ton of personality in the body language of these 3 models and when they're grouped up, they really look like the solid core of a band of cartoon villains, the stuffy rigid pompous general, the sniveling weedy advisor, and the femme fatale baronesse commissar. The cobra command to my other cadian army's Joes.

Converted Snipers to stand in as ratlings

Tried to mimic sniper rifles and paratrooper rifles (for variety), had to make the knit hats out of green stuff.

Forgeworld Veterans repurposed as Combat Engineers

Found this old forgeworld kit while spring cleaning, they've been waiting 20ish years for paint, better late then never. Veterans w shotguns don't exist in modern 40k, but they could still serve as combat engineers so I made a remote mine out of the body of a servitory thing and the camera off an old Taurox. Hug me!

Hello;

I've spent two nights at the night market, and they were vastly different experiences. I'd like to sort of bang out my thoughts on what I experienced, because I've sort of seen both extremes on how people are reacting. Some people hate it, understandably, because its overtuned, others love it but are mad at the people who aren't reacting to it like they are, reminding them its an MMO like they aren't aware.

On my first night, as an exercise, I set out to only solo. No groups, no group finder. I wanted to see how much fun I could have on my NB healer/dps hybrid. Not much to be honest. When I was sent into the zones to do my quests I managed to solo my first pack of mobs, but it was a hell of a grind, and other packs had nastier tricks to them. I was hoping to find roaving packs of players and move with them, exchanging heals for herd immunity, but there was nobody there. I think if you don't use groupfinder, there is a VERY good chance you can get dumped in an empty instance. I died a ton, I did 3-4 dailies that night in all 3 zones and I hated it, I was about ready to scream a few times. I hated Gina's whole face. I was mad. End result, 1 splinter from each zone, plus the 3 vendor ones. 1 lead for the new antiquity.

Night 2, I used groupfinder. Found a group immediately, they were happy to have my heals, we killed bosses left and right in Sorrow's Friend, my first group killed a bunch of bosses, I found 2 quests, made no progress on them at all, killed the calamitous, finished the kill X quest and the group sort of collapsed. Found a second group immediately, also Sorrow's Friend, this time we did the skirmish and finished my faction daily, we killed bosses all over, but not the Kynmarcher in the top left, also nobody knew how to do the puzzles, because you have to look at your feet to hit the buttons, but you have to watch the puzzle to see what the lights are doing. Well done ZoS, 10/10. Group wraps up and I'm excited to use all my splinters and.....neither group ever bothered to kill the Kynmarcher. Open my boxes, egg splinter, glass splinter....yeah. Still a great night, had lots of fun, barely did any quests. Didn't even go to Parched or Spidertown. End result, All the splinters for Sorrow's Friend except Kynmarcher and the daily box. So many leads, I'm going to live in the giant skull.

So, if you aren't having any fun. Use the group finder. If you don't use group finder it is very likely you will get dumped into a ghost town and you will be miserable. I'd recommend doing your faction daily and the kill X quest in a group, then grabbing Darloc Brae and another stealth set and zip around doing the dailies solo.

I think the event is fine. There is fun to be had, but it has identity issues. It wants to be this bombastic zone full of 'group oo you'll die' mobs, but the questing is finicky, the quest indicator range is super short, and requires you scour every inch looking for objectives like little easter eggs. You can't have both. They don't work together. Do you want me moving mob pack to mob pack healing my fellow players and getting dug in, or do you want me sorting through market stalls and looking under debris? If I'm doing one, I can't do the other. If you want to hide quests all over its fine if the zone is for solo questing, if you want big boss murder groups, put the quests on boards at the zone entrance and the rooftop portals.

Noticed some bugs, talking to curator doesn't advance the quest, I entered the night market and found him a second time, and the 'inside the night market curator' lets you make your choice. Sometimes you join a group and when you teleport to them, it dumps you in another empty instance. You can fix it buy porting to one of your homes and then trying again. If you try again IN the instance it bugged you to, you just stay there.

In conclusion, if you don't like the event, try group finder. If you do like the event, try to understand why so many people are not enjoying themselves. Don't be so rotten to each other.
