On the character polls on weibo (huge chinese social media site) for january to april 2026, Ran and Haibara are topping the list with 2,9 million and 1,8 million votes respectively.

For context; weibo's ACGN section has a daily character poll for most popular characters, so while the list does change every day, the consolidated results across months get published from time to time. Ran & Haibara are consistenly among the top since at least 2025.

I love the Sagisu track that originally plays here but my god, without any music this scene turns from a tragedy into some true horror nightmare fuel.
