Suggest me a book that is truly frightening

I need a book that is truly frightening. I would like a good zombie book but vampires would do as well.

So many books today are written with almost a comedic undertone that lightens the book. Another theme focuses on the relationships developed in the difficulties.

Salem's Lot, interview with the vampire, world war z evoked a lot of emotion.

I did really enjoy The Passage and Wayward Pine series

What are your suggestions?

The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel

I finished remains of the day this morning.

Decided my next read would be the book of Lost names by Kristin Harmel. I've only read a few pages but so far I think it is going to be a very good book

Her writing style reminds me of Kristin Hannah who I enjoy. If you're interested in joining me, please let me know. Glad to have the company

Finished a couple of books, starting North Woods

I finished Yesteryear and Warm Bodies this morning.

Really enjoyed Yesteryear. Held quite a surprise. Worthy read.

Warm Bodies was ok. It's a post apocalyptic with a definite twist. Try it you might like it

Just started North Woods. Synopsis sounded good. Anyone interested in joining me?

Silver 🥈 Medal this weekend

My partner and I finished 6-0 in pool play. Then lost to a team we had beaten in the medal round. Tough loss but good weekend overall

I have changed my goal several times, but I am 34/80 at the moment.

Started Reading SevenEves yesterday, about 150 pages in. This is a very long book, 940 pages on my kindle. Very detailed much like the Martian and Project Hail Mary. I hope its good

I have recently begun this book after reading the synopsis and a few reviews from Fable. I'm about 150 pages in. There is lots of detail in this book which I like. it reminds me of Andy Weir and his descriptions in Project Hail Mary and The Martian. So far, I would give it a thumbs up!

What would happen if the world were ending?

A catastrophic event renders the earth a ticking time bomb. In a feverish race against the inevitable, nations around the globe band together to devise an ambitious plan to ensure the survival of humanity far beyond our atmosphere, in a hastily built space ark.

But the complexities and unpredictability of human nature coupled with unforeseen challenges threaten the intrepid pioneers, turning their mission into a desperate survival story until only a handful of survivors remain . . .

Five thousand years later, their progeny―seven distinct races now three billion strong―embark on yet another audacious post-apocalyptic journey into the unknown . . . to an alien world utterly transformed by cataclysm and time: Earth.
