Does anyone feel like the trauma of avoidant experience, makes you feel like you almost needed to go to the dark side too, to get over it?
reddit.comQuestion about the mace in Hanuman imagery
I am not Hindu myself, not really any religion at this point. But I am very inspired by Hanuman and Jatayu in the Ramayana. After all I prefer inspiration over belief systems and western-like dogmas. I know there is the original Valmiki version, which was my original exposure to Ramayana, and other variations that include the mace.
Maybe I'm just being purist or fundamentalist, but I prefer the non-mace carrying imagery. Is this view considered...bothersome or offensive by those that revere him much more religiously?
Maybe I prefer because it is original version, or my first reading, or just love the rawness of him fighting with everything within reach.
Are there various others that also prefer one version over others? And if you'd like to share, I'd love to hear from you.
Sometimes a question is a hint to update your post with better info
I see so many posts for shoes or clothing, or anything else where size is a critical piece of info for purchaser. Info that is so critical that absolutely nobody could think of buying it without knowing kind of thing. I often send a simple, cordial "what size is it?", sometimes because interested, other times as a hint.
Sometimes, but more rare, I see notification that they updated to posting. I have done it myself too, but I am surprised how many people will hassle with answering every potential buyer rather than just updating the post.
I think I am at peace with the fact that I will never fully get over it
I am past the delusions that I did anything wrong or was insufficient. I saw enough patterns with others to see the avoidant was the common denominator. I can realize all this now.
But the part I may never come to terms with was that first presented version having been fake or real(?) Later I know for sure there was fake kindness, but I think some degree in beginning was genuine.
I realize if so, that person and the latter might as well be 2 different people. But, I can't help but think that person in beginning is still out there like a missing person. I can't accept that I need to become as cold as they were to walk away from that trauma. I shouldn't have to callous over some of the best parts of myself to heal.
At this point I accept the grief for what it is. I accept all the obvious truths that they brought the trauma. I accept the pain of refusing to be less caring.
Has anyone heard of World Mission society church of god ? Is it a cu!t?
Well, im a member there but not because I want to be there, when I was 3 or 4 my mum was preached by them and they joined. I used to have a big faith there but since my cousin sister left from that so called "church" I got some doubts and realized that it felt like a cult. I can't leave this because my mom would be mad at me. It's a terrible kind of church and I don't like it. They make no sense and are so nosy. 🤷♀️. I'll leave it someday though
Since WMSCOG is offended by Steve Hassan's BITE model in identifying cults...
Let's just keep it simple then.
Christianity (or any religion applied well) is about controlling yourself while serving others.
Cults are about controlling others and being served.
Can't get more simple than that.
The fact that they even criticize these sensical concepts is all one needs to know about them.
Is there a word for the connection you have with an object you put work into?
Closest thing I can find is the Greek word Meraki, putting your heart and soul into a creation, like a cake, woodwork, or art.
But I have always felt the need to find something that means more like it becoming an extension of yourself as if you can get more performance out of it from the connection. Like a racecar that the racer personally works on, or baseball glove maintained and broken in by the player using it, a sword that a Samurai sharpens and polishes regularly and nobody else can touch.
Meraki is close in terms of input to the amount of care and attention, but looking for a word that represents more reciprocal relationship.
Girl talking to a friend looking g at magazine in Walgreens line, "Men really need to date their own age." A few minutes later her friend mentions an article of different celeb couple and the first one then says, "Well, it's ok for women to date any age. It's not creepy or...uggghh!!"
I was looking around at others to see if anyone else heard, but unfortunately they were in their own conversations. I really wanted confirmation that I heard correct.
"I met a wmscog member this morning. I asked how he was doing?"
"He said, 'I can't complain'."

reddit.comFree, but not free
Why do people post things as free on MP, but in the description says otherwise?
I know the answer is "because reasons...blah blah blah", but it still annoys me even though I immediately know it's one of "those ads".
"You didn't bring the bucket, Danny?!! ..."
"...We are doing the drywall today, we need it."
Danny, I assume, replies, "Well I brought it last time, Tony. Why do I always gotta bring it?"
So, are you Team Danny or Team Tony? Discuss amongst yourselves. 😄
We need someone who knows chinese
If you can read Chinese or live in a Chinese-speaking region, come to share your story together. This church severely lacks Chinese-language materials and resources. We need your support(´-ι_-`)

Don't forget to be outside for Ascension Day...
"It would be a disaster if we all ascend toward heaven, but you are stuck under a roof." 😂🤣🤣😮💨🙄
Oh the things I was told with a straight face before.
If I have the money to set aside in a designated fund equal to the coverage that car insurance would cover, why do I need to waste money on car insurance?
reddit.comI have had over 3 dozen sessions with 4 different providers, and it just feels like it is always wasting time and stringing along to cash in on sessions. The advice is always petty and insultingly simple. If I mention major memory and attention issues, it is "why don't you write things down?". If I mention stress then, "well stress is not always bad, but have you tried relaxing or meditating?" Every response is just dismissive or like they want me to be the expert and know what the problem is.
The worst case was some company (rhymes with Lyra, wink) and they assigned me to another provider that can prescribe. But after 3 sessions they said they can only prescribe minor meds because they work in another state. That was frustrating to hear after $550 spent over 3 sessions.
The last one I am seeing is a separate one. It is not as badly organized, but the visits still feel petty and like we just waste time on talking about sleep advice or advice I could get from an Uber driver. And apps are 3 months apart with nothing accomplished each time. Btw, my sleep is not that bad, at least 6-7 hrs a few days, and at least 3 that are 8 or little more.
Is it that hard to find good therapy?
Has anyone seen the series "From"?
It is a suspense/horror series where the monsters appear as friendly, modestly dressed people, sometimes posing as family members, fake smiles, that just ask you to "open the door and let us in".
Can't put my finger on it, but it reminds me of something.
If anyone is interested it is on Amazon but may be leaving beginning of May.
