I dont know how to feel about this question from my doctor ?

Im 31 F and never been sexually active. Im already embarrassed about this. I have never gotten a pap smear or shown a doctor my private areas. Anyway, yesterday I woke up with so much pain down there and noticed this huge hard lump that resembled a pimple I think but it wouldnt pop. Anyway, with a LOT of anxiety, I ended up booking an appt with my GP because she had one for that day. When I went it, I was already anxious and flushed looking so my GP was really nice and asked if I was okay and everything. So during the exam she was really kind and made it super quick and prescribed me some antibiotics. After everything was done, she asked me if I was sexually active, to which I replied no. She seemed genuinely shocked and asked again and I said no. Then she asked why and I was kind of stunned and didnt know what to say and then she said "you should find someone and enjoy". And I laughed because I wasnt sure if she was lightening the mood or what. Anyway, that sort of stuck with me a bit because Im already aware that im weird for being a virgin at 31 but I didnt really expect a doctor to say that.

Maybe im just dramatic because it was my first intimate exam down there but just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks all <3

Rate my wfh desk setup in my basement

Just started a fully remote job in June. Trying to make my space organized and fun but sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming. The Mac is my personal laptop I use on the side.

Thanks :)

Im scared my therapist will drop me because of how i acted

NAT. 30F and been seeing my T for 8 months. Shes great, the only therapist I have remotely shown emotion in front of. There were still a lot that I was keeping in but over the last 4 months, my life (family, friends, corporate) have been in shambles. I couldnt keep it in anymore so when I went to my last session, I told her that im done and im at a breaking point and spilled everything. She looked so rocked like she was NOT expecting that, which is fair because i feel like getting info out of me is like pulling teeth. Shes away for the next 2 weeks which is great but im worried that I shocked her and shes not used to it so shes going to drop me. I even said "and i know you want to drop me after this which i would totally understand" which she didnt really respond to.

Anyway, I guess i reached my breaking point but as a therapist, what/how do you think she felt or is feeling after that ? Thank you.

I finally had my breakdown

30F and after 8 months of weekly therapy, I finally broke. My life has been complete chaos over the last 3 months between family stuff and just my own thoughts. I went to see my therapist and from the start of the session I just told her im done. And then everything just went wild. I cried, i told her EVERYTHING that ive been hiding and dealing with, and i told her i didnt care that she was going on vacation because no one can help me deal with these things anyway. Truly, I have never seen her more rocked in my life. I think i reached my breaking point and had to tell someone. I tried my hardest not to be mean to her but it just felt like a blur to me. I wont see her for another 2 weeks until she comes back but that was intense. Just wanted to share.

Is this transference ? How can I deal with it.

30F been in therapy for 8 months now. I see my T weekly and only just started being more open and showing emotion (very little but still). Anyway, usually between sessions, I think about her a lot and just sort of wish she texts or emails me because for some reason, i believe that if she has contact with me between sessions, she likes me and cares about me as a person rather than just a client that pays. Idk it's weird. Like a while ago, she would send me podcasts via text and I still do that to her but she hasnt sent me one in a while. Last week we sort of touched on something and I disagreed with her and she asked if I was irritated and annoyed with her and I masked it but said I didnt agree with what she said and she said she would be annoyed if she were in my shoes too. I just hope she didnt get offended or anything.

Shes going on vacation for 2 weeks so im sort of happy ill get a break and maybe deal with it better by understanding it. Im not sure what this is or why i think like this but yeah i thought to ask because ive seen some similar posts.

Thanks all :)

Disagreeing with therapist ?

30F. I’ve been in weekly therapy for about 6 months. Yesterday, we were talking about dating, how I’ve never been in a relationship, and how I sometimes believe it’s because of my looks. My therapist strongly disagrees and said says it’s “hard to imagine no one matches with me online.”

The issue is that the people who do match with me often aren’t really my type or don’t share the same religion I’m looking for. I understand that’s something that can happen when dating, and I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with those people.

She asked if she could see my dating profile, so I showed her my phone. She looked through my pictures and gave me some advice. Then she noticed someone had liked me and said, “See, I told you people like you.” When I looked at the person’s profile, he was about 10 years younger than me, so I laughed and said, “Oh haha, okay.”

I do tell her when I disagree with her sometimes, but I don’t always fully express my thoughts. She joked that she wishes she could take me to a club to show me that people would be interested in me.

Today, I texted her that I got another like, but the pickup line was terrible. She replied, “That’s cute, go for it.”

Yesterday, I wanted to be more honest about the types of people who like me and how I feel about them, but I was worried I’d offend her or come across as shallow. Was I right to hold back, or should I be more authentic and say what I’m actually thinking in therapy? I’m scared because I do have a short fuse which I don’t think she knows about and I’m scared to offend her if I say smth mean in the heat of the moment.

Is this normal for a period ?

Hi all ! Im 30F and Ive been experiencing something odd. Ive been on BC pills on and off and then started up again in around 2018. Currently I'm on triquilar 28. For the last 4 months, I noticed that one month would be super light and brown and spotting, and then the next month would be like full on cramping and heavy. I also noticed that during the lighter month, I dont get PMS but during the heavy month I do (like sore breasts and mood swings). The only thing I guess that I can think of is that I had or have been eating less because i'm trying to lose weight but i'm still eating (like i had chips and salsa and a burger the other day). I also noticed that it happened after losing my job for the second time (which was in May) but found a new job so the stress should be gone by now ?

I just want to know if I should be scared (i have bad health anxiety which is why im scared). Im not sexually active (never have been, shocking I know), so pregnancy isnt in the picture.

Thank you <3

Is my therapist angry with me ?

30F and been seeing a therapist 6 months for anxiety and ocd and some other minor stuff. Im a very shy and reserved person and tend to hold in a lot of my feelings because I want to seem strong and that I can handle things. On the other hand, I hold it in because I'm afraid to cry, especially infront of others. Ive cried once last month at therapy when I lost my job and that was it. Shes really nice and shes open to emails because she knows how scared I am to open up in session and told me she was the same.

Anyway, we have been digging into some heavy stuff and when that happens, i tend to avoid and run away. So I would book a session and then when the days got closer, i would panic and cancel it. This went on for 3 weeks and i felt bad and emailed my therapist that it's not that I dont care, it's because im scared. She responded and said that she was glad that I told her but then she said we should step back and see if therapy is helping or if it's worth continuing. She also said she can help but cant do the work for me (like opening up). Which I understand, shes just there for support. Then she said that if I do want to continue, we would talk about expectations around attendance and communication, along with engagement in sessions.

I cant help but feel like shes mad at me and shes sort of hinting I should leave ? I dont know. I'm just mad and sad at the same time because I hate myself for being so closed off and scared to open up when I have such a good therapist whos always willing to help. I guess I just needed to vent but thank you <3

Looking for some podcasts to help me with being vulnerable and opening up

I know it’s super random. I’m 30F and I see a therapist. I cannot seem to open up because I’m scared of being vulnerable and showing emotions. It makes me feel gross and ashamed and embarrassed. Any podcasts out there that talk about this stuff ? Would love to listen to a few. Thanks :)

I think my therapist is sick of me

30F and been seeing a therapist for GAD and OCD for 7 months. This is my second time. I went first at 19 and stopped at 20. My therapist is great, shes the only therapist ive cried in front of (after 6 months lol). I cancelled my last two sessions because I felt I was being a bother to her because I have a very hard time opening up. A while ago I had asked her if im a difficult client and she said far from it but I have a hard time opening up. I went again 2 days ago and told her that and I told her im scared shell judge me which is why i cancelled but shes my therapist so obvs she said she wont judge me. I had an appt next week that I just cancelled because to be fair I feel like someone else who opens up can use my slot and actually make use of the session vs me who goes, pays and can barely form a sentence about how im really feeling because im scared of being vulnerable. I dont know if I should tell my therapist this or not. Shes open to emails and always encourages it because she said when she was in therapy, she was scared to speak up so she would email her therapist.

Anyway, not sure what im expecting from here but I just wanted to vent and see if anyone has any advice. Thanks all <3 Youve all been so helpful on this page.
