Hope you’re doing well and Happy Fourth! Just heard this term “Friendship Simulator” on an EG video and man truer statements have never been spoken! Probably an old post, but I just heard it so wanted to share to the community I listen to most. Sadly, this: Feeling like hearing my buddies talk is what entertained me in the past but since hearing EG’s commentary can’t get it out of my head. My point/question: Does this resonate with anyone else? Do you feel like these podcasts are lower effort than ever before and their standup is suffering because they’re putting their energy into these podcasts rather than standup comedy? I hope you’re doing well and Happy Fourth! I’m a teacher in NY who teaches “Autodesk Inventor and Revit” at the high school level. Two questions:

1. I make 129K forgive me if this is too personal but how does that compare to industry architects?

2. What are some projects in 2026 you recommend I try with my students for both Inventor and Revit?

Really enjoy Mechanical Drafting and Architecture but man, the kiddos are burning me out haha.

I hope you’re doing well and Happy Fourth! A student of mine (HS sophomore) somewhat enjoys the sciences, but really enjoys woodcarving and making small dollhouse figurines and furniture 🪑. For someone with this skillset (talented kid from what I’ve seen!) is Dentistry a pathway to explore? Should I recommend he look into it more? First student EVER who has this as a hobby and is making me think about taking it up over the summer with all the time off I have (haha just kidding!). Thanks in advance!

I hope you’re doing well and Happy Summer! I went to a kava bar in NYC (Manhattan) this past weekend and two observations:

1. it was a lot fun with great drink options of al types kava, kratom, passion flower, etc. with good people to chat with (even though I was hoping to meet some more Kratom heads in attendance).

2. The bartender knew NOTHING about Kratom. It’s not a judgment nor am I Knocking the guy because it’s really not his job just funny how I thought he’d have some insight and info on the products he serves at this place of employment. I was schooling him and some other customers so people on this sub would be impressed haha.

Really wish we had more places like this and can’t wrap my head around all the bans because everyone at this place was relaxed, chilled, and most importantly socializing as adults (probably one of the healthiest things a person can do!)

Look forward to going there again and would love to link up with anyone on this sub looking to hang and socialize! Let me know if anyone has similar experiences from similar places.

…I wrote a post a few days ago to ask if there is any positive news about Kratom to share. Circling back here to hear if there is anything positive for our community. Seems like nonstop ban, ban, ban, etc. Any KCPAs passed or some good press for us.

Hope you’re doing well! I’m from NY and just posted about some positive news because everything seems to be ban attempts anywhere. Anyway, in the most basic terms what is a KCPA? I thought once a state passes a KCPA we are in the clear but seems that even worth that legislation there are still ban attempts. G-ddamit any kratom alternatives so I can STOP worrying about bans and shit lol? Thank you!

Edit: Also, not to be negative but has our community had ANY wins lately? Seems like we’re just getting our asses beat at every turn. I’m so tired.

I hope you’re doing well and thanks to everyone who showed up to DC (you guys are the bomb 💣)! I wanted to show up but was all out of PTO for this year. Anywya, after being in DC and generally following the kratom community, is there anything positive or moving in our favor? Just seems like the most ban attempts and negative press I have seen since using kratom for the last three years. I’m from NY (near Carlucci) so that was a nice W for us, but man everything seems to be burning to the ground. Anyway, is there any hope we should have? It’s so fucking frustrating but most of all annoying that I have to constantly follow this shit everyday ‘ the lovely ban attempt is jn the works. Okay, any hope for kratom all or are we doomed? How did the federal hearings go? Mac and the AKA are the best and I can’t express how much I appreciate them (and I do donate!). Okay, I’m a NYer so give me something positive or should I find an alternative to help curb my booze, depressive, and anxiety habits. It was Miracle but feel like we are doomed. Here’s to Lawler/Booker for the federal KCPA, being actively involved in the AKA, and finding herbal alternatives (anyone have some for a green maeng da user)? I hope you’re doing well and happy (almost) summer! It’s your favorite “wanna be Dentist” here haha and I’m wondering: In 2026 are all Dentists upper-middle if not upper class? Obviously not everyone here knows other’s salaries but curious are most making a minimum of $250K/year? I use that number because I read that $250K is the new “six figures”. My pops was a Dentist (I couldn’t get a high enough DAT score for admittance) during the “Golden Age” (NYU in the ‘70s and practiced mostly through the 80s and 90s inherited a practice from my grandpa) of Dentistry and he never seemed stressed about money so curious if this is still the case for most Dentists. As someone who lives in the suburbs of NY it seems Like there are Dentists and Chiros all over the place and wondering how the all stay in business. Anyway, all info it appreciated!

Chasing this crazy job. Being that you’d likely miss weddings, birthdays, religious stuff, etc. how have your relationships been impacted? Also, older comics how do you do with the late nights? At 40 i stay up past midnight MAYBE once every three months. Thanks for your response and not a comedy but im oddly interested in the inner workings of the job more than just the laughs. Just for context I’m not a comedian just a comedy fan and was curious: With a ton of comedians releasing their specials on “YouTube” how do they get paid? Just from the venue they’re performing and the “YouTube” partner program? Like back in the day weren’t specials WAY more lucrative Because networks would pay you? Also, you think podcasts have hurt or helped standup? I’m honestly more interested in the intricacies and process of standup than I am in the actual performances. I hope you’re doing well and Happy Mother’s Day to all the great ones out there! As a refomer, I have no desire (or should I say Find value at this point) to keep kosher or keep “real” Shabbat. I do however (for reasons I can’t articulate) enjoy wearing my kippah all the time and reading the Torah before I go to bed. Any other reformers on this subreddit wear their Kippahs all the time? Any other traditions that speak to you? I’m really enjoying getting more involved in my faith and loom forward to joining a congregation soon. Let me know what you do, suggestions, and here’s to reignating my Jewish Faith! Much love from this 40 year old in NY!

P. S. While I enjoy wearing my kippah, there’s a part of me that feels like a fraud because I don’t keep kosher or keep a traditional Shabbat so when I’m in more religious areas I put it in my pocket.
