Returning to Paralives

I haven't played Paralives since late June this year. I was reading the patch notes since then and saw that some of the mods I had downloaded/subscribed to had been incorporated into the game.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but do I need to go through the workshop to update or remove mods, or does the Steam Workshop recognize what's updated or no longer active and update them for you?

I’m tired..

I sought an attorney and they would like to offer me representation. Right now, I’m just considering asking for a paid separation as the attorney said that it would be like to win… but I’m honestly tired before even starting. I’ve had a panic attack nearly all weekend. I don’t want to have to do this but it feels like it’s the best way to get me out of this nightmare..

I’m tired of going through stuff like this. I’m starting to feel like there’s no way to actually get away from people like this.

I’m an HR director and a department of 1, so it feels like I have no one to turn to but myself - to keep pointing it out to them their bad behaviors and its impact. I’m beyond exhausted and I wish I could just throw in the towel and never be targeted again.

I’m just venting ig.. I’m still weighing whether I want to accept counsel or keep touching it out until I can find somewhere new.. which is feeling like it’ll take forever

Just venting [TX]

Our now CEO (previously COO), consistently talks to staff about investigation details prior to it being completed.

I’ve been employed at this location for over a year now and I’ve started putting feeler applications out there but I’m annoyed by the fact that our CEO constantly talks to staff and starts asking questions about specific details that haven’t been released yet to the employee that’s being investigated.

She does it seemingly because she wants to know the answer about that specific thing before the documentation is complete or to “confront” them about it; but I now need to again have a conversation with her about not asking employees about information related to an investigation (such as “did you do [X]” “I know you did [X], why’d you do that?”

It impacts the continuity and confidentiality of information..

I’m beyond tired, you guys..

Missing Toddler..

I was playing with another family and went to return to my original, and noticed my toddler was missing. Did he pass away? There isn't an in-game notification of it, and I don't see an option to adopt him again..

Tips for placing apartment lots from Canvas?

I'm having a hard time reading how to place apartment lots properly. Do you all have any tips that may help with ensuring the appropriate placement of apartment lots from Canvas?

I'll often think I have it right, but then once the apartment loads, things may be slightly off, with things such as windows/doors overlapping or items clipping, or it'll be completely off cause the floor not to build, etc.

Strange Facial Structure

My child Zoi aged up with her face looking a bit deformed. I'm not sure how I would go about fixing this. I know there is a cheat to fully edit your Zoi, but what do you all recommend I do to edit her?

Is it her cheeks making her lips look like that? Should I try editing her eyebrows or weight to help the forehead sticking out?

I'm fairly new to Inzoi so im still learning how to navigate this lol

Choice and Variety don’t have to be a competition

It may just be my perspective since I’m not a competitive person; but I appreciate that the life simulation genre is expanding the way that it is. The unfortunate thing is just how each community unfortunately is bringing a level of competition and comparison, in a way that doesn’t allow for the uniqueness of each game to be appreciated ( & can sometimes contribute to toxic perspectives).

I love life simulation games, and I have since I was a kid (I’m going on 30 😅). This new variety of games allows for life stimulation players to play in a variety of ways since every game brings something different. Different play styles, different aesthetics, different ways of exploring the world.

i’m excited for the future of life simulation games, and to see how every person gets a new opportunity to explore what’s most fitting for them in their preferences, and eventually for us to be able to do this without tearing down the other.

It’s the beauty of being able to play with life. Life is so many different things to different people and in different ways and we now can reflect that in gaming in ways we haven’t been able to do before.

I just wanted to share some positivity and appreciation for the state of life simulation games today 😌

The later seasons wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so rushed.

Firstly, I love The Game. Its one of my favorite shows to rewatch especially in the first 3 seasons.

Unfortunately, the show became this mean-spirited drama with the main cast and everyone afterwards was kind of air-headed..

  • Melanie had so much integrity, ambition, and care for others and then became so insecure, selfish, and a mean-girl.
  • Derwin was immature, religious but never out to hurt anyone but then became arrogant and malicious.
  • Malik was spoiled but had charisma but suddenly became abusive.

& so forth.. I could really go on honestly..

The truth is these types of changes can happen in people especially in high stakes environments like professional football. The character development should have been better written and reflected. We suddenly went from the OG characters with morals and flaws to these mean-spirited carless characters. Everyone only cared about themselves, how they felt, and what they could get out of the people around them.

I think the charm of the show was lost because they didn't take their time to really tell the story of how their environment tainted them to their core - It could have been a more believe storyline. Instead it was just drama and unrealistic behaviors from the OG characters.

Also, in the later seasons, Kiara, Blue, Chardonnay, (and Ciara for that matter lol) were all written like they were just kind lacking basic common sense and didn't have much substance.. like they were all emotion and no logic..

Photo Mode

I fear I may be missing something when it comes to taking photos. When I attempt to take photos I can only select the Zoi I’m actively playing as but not any other Zoi.

Also, if my Zoi has something in there hand I can’t take a photo at all.

Might there be something I’m missing?

4 year Journey

I’m just wanting to share my progress so far 😌

Having locs has been just a beautiful and insightful journey; learning so much about my hair and my self-image.

Sometimes I feel conflicted though with doing a big chop and have a TWA and maybe reattaching later or just continuing on this journey and see how long they will grow. Lol

Welcome to HR? [TX]

I just need to vent to people who would understand. I have been in HR for 10+ years and I struggle with the idea that HR is just the department people don't listen to until there is a fire.

I was talking to a mentor/board member about a scenario we have going on, and while checking in on me, I had to share that I am just trying to work with my team so they can better understand when to incorporate HR since they continue to make personnel decisions without me (our sole HR) present - leaving me to constantly have to clean things up and put out fires. Her response was just "Welcome to HR".

I understand that this is a common struggle for HR professionals, but I just don't get it... If so many HR professionals face this, if so many companies have proven track records of significant fines or being sued as a result, why is it still such a struggle/ fight to ask for what seems like the basics...

It's hard not to take personal sometimes, as if it isn't a respect thing. If we were just respected then we would have to put up with this as much..?

I'm not asking for strict compliance to policies or that HR needs to be involved in every decision (please don't) but like don't promise things to employees that don't exist - tell them they can have something we don't have, don't make them feel like they are going to gain or lose a job without even verifying that it's appropriate first.

Playing for the first time

I bought Inzoi when it came out last year but I couldn’t play it until now with the new optimizations.

I’m wondering if anyone has recommendations of creators I can watch that can help me better understand what’s in the game.

I’m like the game so far but still feeling a little lost 😅

Gameplay for Introverts

As someone who primarily plays in Live Mode, I still believe the game is worth buying, even in its beta.

I think the game, right now have a quieter style of gameplay. If you really enjoy throwing parties or playing with a busy “social life”in live mode, you may want to wait a bit.

But if you’re also someone that enjoys just following them through a day-to-day. Then it’s very enjoyable :).

They’ll get up and go to the café before work, or go to the gym after work. Have them forage, go the shops, relax at the beach, etc. It’s nice.

Just keep in mind the fact that this is the beginning.. it’s early access so it’ll only get better from here but it’s already pretty nice imo. I’m thinking about it all the time and play when ever I get a moment.

Lot Names

It would be wonderful if lots/homes had a name or even like a street name and an “address number”. This would make it much easier to browser lots in the game/workshop, and even navigate the world.

It could even be a cute touch of detail when decorating the exterior to place its house number outside or on a mailbox.

& if we eventually have where townhouses/ apartments can actually be split by household, there could be unit letters.

Why is it that some people are just naturally more depressed…

Im just venting but I started taking SSRIs about 2months ago and sometimes the over compulsive or anxious thoughts will creep back in and I just don’t understand why anyone’s mind would just commonly remain in a depressive state when they’re aren’t any clear signs as to why.

It makes me feel like my brain is faulty or that I shouldn’t be here bc what’s the point.

The annoying thing is, sometimes the medication is supportive and I can experience happiness but at random one day it isn’t as supportive that day.

I’m going to talk to my psychiatrist about it to see if it’s a dosage thing but I just needed to vent for a moment

Grief

I got into an accident about four months ago where I was rear ended. I honestly didn’t think the accident was all that bad - I saw it coming and moved out the way as best as I could and my car had minimal damage.

But I have a neck and back injury that has been bothering almost everyday since. & It’s really just now hitting me that I’m going to be injured for a long time , possibly the rest of my life, because someone else was playing on their phone while in morning traffic..

I guess I just needed to vent to others that may understand..

Neurodivergence and Emotional Connections

I just needed to vent for a moment but I just don't know what to do anymore regarding how to better connect with others. I am very high functioning, but I'm also very direct and literal in how I process things.

Because I'm literal, I find that when trying to work with or even make friends with people who are more emotions-forward in processing - it always creates a conflict. It feels as though I'm often made out to be a bad person because it takes me longer to understand why someone makes an emotional decision, or when I am more "logical" rather than emotional in my own decision-making.

I've literally had my C-suite at work calling me cold and claiming I didn't care about people, which just isn't true, but when I try to process my way through it, I'm "a mean/aggressive person."

I recently made a new friend, and she just got mad at me on the phone because I don't want to give a chance to a guy because I don't feel like he's showing me that he's interested. She fussed, saying that I'm quick to just cut people off who don't fit what I'm looking for, and I truly don't understand what is wrong with that.

This feels like its been a constant battle for me lately and I'm starting to feel as though I'll never find people who understand me. I've only recently started working with a psychiatrist so I can better understand but it's just exhausting and disheartening.

Vyvanse lasting too long

Hello everyone, I’ve been working with my psychiatrist over the last few months to figure out which ADHD medication works best for me. During that time, I also started taking Prozac 20 mg.

So far, Vyvanse (30 mg) is the only ADHD medication that has provided noticeable benefits. However, when it works, the effects seem to last far too long( sometimes more than 14 hours) which has been impacting my sleep. I started taking it as early as 5:00 a.m., but it still seems to be active until around 2:00–3:00 a.m., and only then can I finally fall asleep.

I’ve also noticed that after about two weeks, it seems to become less effective. I asked my psychiatrist about trying a lower dose (20 mg) to see if that might help with the sleep issues, but I’m concerned it may become even less effective.

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced Vyvanse lasting too long and, if so, what you did to help manage it.

Dealing with personal feelings after making difficult choices [TX]

I’ve been in HR for over 10 years and I'm currently an HR Director for a small non-profit. Lately, I’ve realized that being a department of one has really impacted my ability to process the emotional side of this work.

Having to explain to someone why they’re ineligible for a benefit they believed they were entitled to, enforcing policies people don’t agree with, handling corrections constantly while also managing my personal life stuff... it's a little emotionally exhausting, because there’s no one that just gets it with you.

I have to process everyone else’s frustration, solve problems, and just immediately move on to the next thing.

I don’t even know if I’m looking for advice. I think I just needed to vent and maybe hear from others who understand this side of HR, because sometimes it feels really isolating.
