I just checked and I don’t listen to nearly enough Death Metal I thought I did it would be amazing to get hooked on to some other death metal other than the stuff I currently listen to

I know there was a term called Mallrats used to describe people who listened to mainstream Alternative music I saw an Angelabennidict video about Mallrats but she was mostly talking about people who listened to Nu-Metal and hung around mostly malls. But it got me curious what was it like to be an actual Goth listening to Goth music in the late 90s early 2000s esp when the alternative scene was swinging more towards Nu-Metal and goth wasn’t in the spotlight how did they find goth music even though streaming platforms weren’t widely available in those days.

And btw guys Im Gen Z please be nice to me :) and educate me if I got something wrong

I particularly I listen to mostly Goth but I really like the sounds and political messages from certain Crust-Punk bands such as Cro-Mags, Raw Power, Discharge can anyone recommend me more Crust-Punk both old and newer bands please.

I recently found Tristwch Y Fenywod they are an Ethereal Wave band and sing all in Welsh it sounds kinda like Dead Can Dance’s first album in 1984 but only in Female vocals.

Me personally it’s my primary music taste I also listen to other genres like Jazz-Rap, Grunge, Shoegaze, 80s/90s alt rock, Non-Goth Post-Punk, Punk Rock, EDM, bits of Kpop thanks to my lil sis but Goth is what I mostly listen to on a day to day basis I’m curious about you guys?

I’ve been listening to Xmal Deutschland and I’m really obsessed with this band my favourite song has to be Eiland I would prefer the band to have a female singer and with the similar vocal range Anja Huwe does which is the Ooooaooooo type of sounds she does while singing almost haunting sounding.

I like Blackgaze it’s really soothing and dreamy I only listen to three bands so far I need more to add to my Blackgaze playlist any recommendations would help.
