Upgrading from Playbar
I’m considering upgrading my Playbar to a Beam Gen 2 so I can get Dolby Atmos support. It’s part of a TV surround setup with a Sub (Gen 2) and two Play 1 surrounds. I also have a Connect Gen 2 in another part of the house, I connect all units together for whole home audio during parties.
I have 2 questions, first, do I need to upgrade the Play 1 units to get more out of Atmos playback? Two, and most importantly, am I going to run into functionality issues inserting a Beam into this older setup?
I don’t want to part w my Connect and the setup is very reliable right now. Occasionally a Play 1 will need to resync but, app madness aside, it just works. Has anyone else made this swap in an older system and have insight to share? Any known bugs or compatibility issues when deploying a beam with the other Gen 2 units?
